((Jaal written by Aura. No nsfw!))

"Does it bother you when I rest my head here?" Bruce asked and, very carefully, lowered his head right on the soft part on the side of Jaals head. It was like resting on a pillow, but also warm and Jaal. Bruce loved it. But he didn't know if he liked it.

"No, not at all. You're warm." Jaal smiled and lifted a hand to caress his cheek. "Besides, the scars over there are old. It doesn't hurt anymore."

That was also good to know. Feeling reassured now, but rested the full weight of his head on Jaal, and began to purr right away. He was so soft and comfortable. The best mate he could ask for, really.(bearbeitet)

Jaal purred back and kept caressing him. Bruce deserved all the pets. "You know, Damien mentioned this thing called... Echocolocation, the other day. What is it?"

Jaals pulse tickled him! Huh? Echolocation? "Oh that's ... when you locate yourself and other things with the echo sound does when it repeals from something." Well that sounded more difficult than it was. " - As long as there's sound, I can feel what's around me" Bruce summed up.

"That's fascinating. It's similar to what Angarans do with electric fields. But we call it 'sixth sense'." Jaal explained, an soft smile showing on his face. "As you can imagine, storms confuse us a lot. But sound? That's some smart evolution process..."

" ... thank you?" Bruce figured, laughing at the compliment.

"I don't like storms either. They're loud and bright; bring rain ... " He growled at the very mental image of storms.

"You're welcome." Jaal chuckled a bit. "And I agree. Rain is more or less ok because we all need water to drink, but they are still dangerous. Very."

"Very" Bruce agreed. He kissed Jaals soft skin and then licked over a spot, unable to help himself. There were so many blood vessels who's pulse felt fun on his tongue.

Jaal felt heat pooling all over his body. Dang, that was sexy... It was right then when he remembered something. He stretched one arm, picking up a piece of paper on the bedside table.

"This is the surprise I made for you... I keep forgetting on giving it to you. It's a poem. About us."

A poem!? "I've never gotten a poem before" Bruce said, absolutely stunned about it. He moved a bit for Jaal to grab it and now looked at him, eyes wide.

"I'll read to you." Jaal took a deep breath and started to read.

"Oh, Bruce, my dear,
Let everyone hear,
That my love for you is real,
And yes, it's a big deal...

Because this love is true,
I swear it (to you),
Let's find a new life together,
You and me, forever."

"I just fell deeper in love with you" Bruce let Jaal know with his hand on his heart. He shifted again so he could see the text, too; all the while smiling. "Can I - ?" Oh, he wanted to keep it so badly.

"I'm glad to hear." Jaal let out a happy purr, then handed the piece of paper to him.
"I wrote it for you, so you should keep it. It's yours now."

Really? Bruce just took the paper; too happy to say anything right now. He read it again or, at least, tried to. But he didn't know that alphabet.

"Can you read it again?" He wanted to memorize it!

"I can." Jaal reached for the poem and read it all over again, though this time he was gazing into Bruce's eyes as he did so.

Bruce was just totally enchanted. He heard what Jaal said, but he certainly paid no attention to memorize the words; just enjoying the experience. Which was bad, because it meant he'd have to ask him to read it again. And again. And ...

"Did you ... ever listen to Earth music yet?" he asked once Jaal finished reading.

"Only to Aerosmith because Ryder liked that band. But not much more than that. Sure you know a few more I could listen to?" Jaal inquired, curiosity sparkling into his eyes. He'd love to listen more Earth music.

Oh, he had a treat for him then. "So my mom really, really loved The Beatles and one of the members wrote this song," He took the paper from Jaal again, feeling contenter when he held it. " - and it goes a little like ... "

Bruce started singing, quiet at first, and inched up close to Jaal; petting him fondly in between. "Would you care to sit with me; For a cup of English tea? ~ Very twee;" He kissed him, "- very me ~ any sunny morning?

What a pleasure it would be
Chatting so delightfully
Nanny bakes
Fairy cakes
Every Sunday morning ~ ... "

Jaal's eyes lit up like a child's. Caught in absolute awe, he began to clap along, following the tune. What a magical experience! This was even better than poetry! Better than any song he had ever heard, really. And that was because Bruce was singing to him.

He liked it! Bruce sang louder from there, filling the room with his voice. He didn't forget to nuzzle Jaal now and then when the lyrics allowed it; along with the occasional kisses he gave him. Eventually, the song did end and Bruce looked at Jaal expectantly, smiling.

Between the kisses and the nuzzles, Jaal was filled with so much love that he barely could take it. He hugged Bruce tightly when he finished his song, giggling in delight. "Oh, Bruce! That was... wonderful! You sing so well~! You should sing more often, you're a great singer!"

"I didn't know you'd like it. I'll sing more often now" he promised, still smiling to himself.

"I didn't know either. This is the first time time I hear a song that isn't sung by Aerosmith." Jaal made a noise similar to a chuckle. "You're really good. And thank you!"

Well, in that case it was settled. "I'll teach you all about The Beatles" Bruce decided here and then. At least Jaal had two bands to pick songs from then.

"Do you have more music I can listen?" Jaal looked around, curious. "What's your favourite song?"

Uhhm ...

"Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe ~
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me ~"

It was the first he could think of. Bruce coughed. "There is a lot of songs I like" he said then, blushing.

Jaal couldn't stop smiling. Bruce had such a beautiful voice, he couldn't help himself. "That one sounds so beautiful. It sounds even better when you sing it, but I don't want your throat to overexert itself. I really can't make you sing all the songs to me, that would be too much. Do you have any device where we can listen to recordings of these songs? That way, we could enjoy them, and you'd get some time to rest."

"I'm gonna sing along anyways ... " Bruce mumbled, chuckling. But good. His phone lay on the nightstand next to the bed, so he reached for that, going to let it connect to the audio system via blue tooth.

He skipped 'The Long and Winding Road'; the last song he listened to, and turned on the next. Bruce smirked as he recognized the intro.

'Do you want to know a Secret' played.

Jaal couldn't help but tap along to the song. "It has such a nice feeling to it... It feels like home." he whispered, reaching to hold Bruce's hand. Even if their fingers were different, Jaal managed to intertwin them. More or less. It wasn't perfect, but nothing in the universe was utterly perfect either - and that was fine. When the song was coming to an end, Jaal dared to sing the last verses.

"...Let me whisper in your ear
Say the words you long to hear
I'm in love with you ~ "
