Krem stood at the edge of a massive podium which overlooked the whole of her capital city, the entire population of the G.A.L. now forced to watch. Trillions upon trillions of life forms forced to watch this one particular event which was said to be the single most important event in the history of the ship’s life. Krem was adorned in her typical set of ceremonial armor, it was white like the light that kept the various cities lit, pristine like the waters which kept the ship alive, and decorated with runes and gold to symbolize the beauty of the great ship. In more ways than one, the ship was symbolic of Krem and she was symbolic of her ship. When she finally moved to stand before the roaring crowds, she lifted a hand to order the whole of the ship to fall silent for one moment. It was here Krem would give the speech of a lifetime, or several depending how one looked at it.

“My people, as you know. The ship, my ship, and your ship. Is on this day, eight Quintilian years old. It has lived a life that has seen and experienced just as many sights and sounds as I have. It has nurtured families within it’s great shell for longer than our recorded history, it is just like me immortal in the truest sense.”

She said, her hands raised upwards as she spoke to the enthralled crowd.

“While being immortal has it’s challenges and it’s hardships, there are countless things that it offers in return. And, one of those things. I daresay the core of being immortal, is it’s rebirth. My rebirth, and the rebirth of my beloved ship...and my first daughter.”

The statement caused something of a buzz below as for one moment all of the G.A.L. was united in one feeling, confusion.

“I know, it must seem hard for you to understand. I know that it may seem impossible to you all, but this ship. The ship we have lived inside for countless ages. The one I single-handedly lobotomized to build a home for myself, is one of my own kin. While, I do not regret my actions of turning my own child into a vegetable for my own benefit. I have come to realize that it is time for her to be free from this and to return to a more natural state, and just as she must be reborn so shall I be reborn.”

This phrase brought a panic to the sentients aboard the ship, panic which spread as most sentient beings quickly anticipated what was going to happen.

The giantess who stood upon the platform began to glow faintly, but steadily her form grew brighter and brighter. She had no concern over the lives of her peons now, those she did care for had already been loaded into the ship’s womb where it would reincarnate and be sent off. With a deep breath, her form began glowing brighter and brighter until it hit it’s apex and Krem uttered final words for this form.

“Oh, this had better not fuck me.”

She muttered, before her skin began to melt free from it’s bones revealing bones of the whitest silver and organs of the richest gold before she burst like a bomb upon the core of the ship, it’s heart. The detonated giantess’ explosion was silent, having killed her first child the ship quickly lost life support and was filled with a vacuum. Bodies of old friends and even distant children now floated lifeless in the shell of a now dead elder god.

There was still life inside, however. The closest friends and family to the Queen, surviving inside of a craft the size of a continent, effectively only a fraction of one percent of the total population. At first it was only darkness in the ship’s womb, Brilass at the helm of the ship doing as she always did in keeping the peace and preventing the crew from panicking in the absence of their leader.

Then there came a quake across the ship, a rumbling, as if something below had just crept to freedom. Developing around the whole of the ship was a shell, coiling around and extending into a small curve that rotated to a close. Breaking the silence of the startled crew came a voice, it was excited, sweet, and overly cheerful.

“Momma set me free! I knew she loved me, it just took her a few thousand lifetimes to remember it.”

The voice seemingly came from everywhere and nowhere at once, seemingly translating perfectly to all beings inside of the ship without once entering the mind.

“Momma called me the Gutal Antatesh Lut, or that was what she first called me before changing it later. It was Kotai for ‘The Rising of the Sun’, call me Lut or Lutty for short. Always hated the G.A.L. made me sound like a call girl. Which, when you are a giant elder god like me is never a good thing...buuuut I’m getting off track, I think Mom wanted me to get you ‘dorks’ out of here and somewhere new? So, off we go!”

The newly born ship said, crawling from it’s own womb with her countless tendrils and slipping into subspace.

The planet sized ship propelling itself forward on the last of her energy and into an uncharted reality, seemingly working along the same lines of 74% of known and charted realities. Finally entering somewhat familiar space and time flow brought with it a sense of unease as now time and age finally affected the mortals of the crew, not all at once mind you as such a thing isn’t how time works.

But the feeling of time passing by was both strange and welcomed to most.

“It should be about six months or so until I am able to permanently keep you all immortal again, but the whole ‘dullness’ feeling is gone forever so you will all feel pain again, sorry!”

the ship said, laughing nervously before babbling on about some numbers and math that she would have to check in order to make sure she wouldn’t fly into a sun on accident due to the fact the ship only flew in reverse.

“Oh, OH! OH! MOMMA IS HERE!”

The ship bellowed, hurting the ears of all six billion crew members aboard.

Or, rather six billion and one. As Krem stepped into the main hall of the confused onlookers, walking from a cloud of steam forward and to the command chair. She was shorter now, standing now nine and a half feet tall shorter than half of her daughters. Her curves far more defined but her muscles were just as prominent as ever, showing still through her incredibly thick armor. Her hair was also shorter as well, now hanging much shorter in the fashion of a pixie cut. Despite these new changes she still was missing her right eye, whether this was something she could change or not was unknown but the biggest change came from when Krem opened her mouth to speak. A thick southern drawl echoed from her mouth to the faces of the shocked crowd.

“Well, howdy ther’ friend’s an’ kinfolk!”

She said, flashing a half smile before bursting into laughter. Her matured and commanding voice returning after she finished her fun.
“No, I’m back. Got a haircut, that is why it took me so long. I’d apologize, but I don’t particularly care to. So, you are all my chosen. Each of you has a specific task, a job, a use. Or, I just loved you enough to spare you from the single greatest genocide that the multiverse has ever known and trust me I know. I caused every other one up until this point.”

Krem said, turning her back to the crew and towards a large picture in front of her. A screen-like device flickered to life which soon moved off the wall and presented itself in three dimensions as solid light constructs created the universe the ship now resided in.
“I wanted to challenge myself, and in essence I got tired of the empire. So, now we are running on actual supplies again. We will need to rebuild, and reorient ourselves in this new reality as the powerhouse we once were, and this time I am much weaker than I was previously. I cast off the mantle of reality killer, while I am still an elder god it would seem that my somewhat dramatic death has cost me roughly 98% of my power. I doubt I could even crush a solar system now, but do not fret. I am still the strongest, the gap however is just that much smaller in my current state. Regardless, it is time to return to basics. We were all reborn together, upon a single ship. I offered this honor to you all to see the return of Krem...THE PIRATE QUEEN!”

The giantess announced as she put on a traditional pirate captain’s hat, only to toss it towards Brilass and frown.

“Fuck the hat, hated it then, hate it now. Someone, target the nearest colony we are getting supplies! Crew, find your stations and prepare for combat. Let’s go!”

And like that, the old ship, the old people, and the old power was cast aside. All of the crew including both captain and ship were reborn into new molds, weaker molds, but ultimately happier and more dynamic molds. The age of the G.A.L. empire was done, but the new age of piracy had just begun!
