This is a group based on a fictional crime family that I'm currently creating. The primary time period for the group will be mid 1940s and will continue up to early 1950s. I'd like to keep any scenarios as accurate to the time period as possible, which will mean research on my part, for sure, and probably some on yours. As of right now, player characters will normally be up and coming soldiers or non-"made" associates (business owners, lawyers, politicians, corrupt cops that favor the family, or thugs) of the main family , the Salernos. I'm also willing to let people play parts in rival families, and maybe anti-Salerno law enforcement, though they would have to work with me fairly closely as GM. The only player characters so far are myself, as Victor Meli, though I have a friend who may or may not be bringing one of his characters in as the new family Consigliere. We have a bit of a dynamic set up that we're looking to pursue, and would be happy to have other people jump in with us. Ideally, we'd start with 3-5 people total, and add new characters if there is a lot of interest, or as we need people.
I'm still in the planning stages, but if you have any ideas, feel free to give me a shout via PM. I do admit I'm planning to be a little strict, but I do have a reason. I'd like to use the NPCs, setting, and maybe even some of the scenarios in a book. I have absolutely no timetable, nor do I even know 100% if I'll finish it, but there is that chance. As for your characters having a place in the novel, that is 100% up to you. I will never take your character or any of your ideas, including any of your posts without permission, so please do not feel as though your work would be stolen.
