Muu'Nati
(Pronounced: Moo-Nah-tee)
[Originally created by Cyntawni]
Women, warriors guardians.
The Muu’Nati are a tribe made up of women from several other nations in the surrounding lands. They are elite warriors, the protectors of The Lands, chosen by Meyotah to use cunning, skill, and craft to keep their Lands and the surrounding nations safe.
Hand picked by the Goddess from their very conception, it is an honor and privilege to be one of Meyotah’s chosen, Moon Kissed(*). The Goddess sees them as fit to be one of her elite warriors, to protect those who follow her word, and has granted them Her powers. One does not become Moon Kissed. They are born to the calling and each of the native tribes knows what to look for. For most, the Heela(**) is the first thing that makes them aware the child is Moon Kissed. At that point, the Muu’Nati are sent for and asked to welcome the Moon Kissed into their ranks where they will be accepted as a Tribe (or Pack) Sister and trained as defenders and guardians. There are those, however, who are born bloodling(***). They are born Wolf. It’s rare, but it does happen and if not handled very carefully and with the strength of another Moon Kissed to guide the birth, the mother of the bloodling rarely survives. It is said that some will seek out the Moon Kissed for visions before the birth of a child in hopes that by doing so, they may receive the Goddess’s blessing.
*Moon Kissed:
Born with a soul that is half anthro, half feral and all temper. Moon Kissed are always female, there is no record in the history of the tribes that speaks of a male being Moon Kissed. It is believed that males can be carriers of the gene, that the goddess may see fit to bless his children with her Kiss, but something in his blood… something that makes him MALE… seems to resist accepting the Kiss himself.
**Heela (H is pronounced with a hiss):
A hollow, retractable “snake-fang” (Solenoglyphous), under one nail on each hand that produces a highly potent venom which acts as a sedative. It also produces and effect where it allows a mind link between the Moon Kissed and the victim. During this mind link, the Moon Kissed can invade the person’s dreams/thoughts, see memories and implant suggestions. It’s often been used as a method of shamanistic visions for some Moon Kissed. For those more skilled in it’s use, it can be used to ‘break’ a person’s mind and bend them to the Moon Kissed’s will. This is a double edged sword, however, as during the mental invasion, the Moon Kissed is vulnerable to their own mental attacks. All Muu'Nati bare the Heela.
***Bloodling:
A Moon Kissed who is born in their wolf form or turns shortly after. While generally, the wolf comes later in development, there are those who have the calling much earlier in life. Despite it's rarity, a Bloodling is predisposed to being fierce and aggressive, including during their birth where, without another Moon Kissed to guide them, it's not uncommon for the wolf pup to tear at their mother's insides or even try to chew their way out.
Generally, the local tribes keep in close contact with the alpha of the Muu'Nati. In this way, if a Bloodling is suspected, the alpha can make certain that she's there to guide the young wolf to minimize damage to the mother. -

-Strictly females
-Werewolves/werecanine (chosen by their goddess and granted the gift of their ‘wolf’ form) This is part of what makes them Muu’Nati. ALL Muu’Nati are were-.-The Shift - The shift itself is painful. Muscles tear, twist, stretch and shrink. Bones break, twist, adjust, shrink, stretch, and reform. Their bodies physically change, they aren’t just magically their wolf or their anthro. The shift is gruesome to watch and hear and they are likely to be cranky right after a shift. It should also be noted that the shift takes time, it’s not instant. Usually around 10 minutes for most. Those who have trained a very long time might be able to push it down to 5 minutes but they’re likely to be vicious by the time the shift is complete. There is some rumor that, when around other Muu’Nati (and maybe Veylenari), they can draw on the ‘pack magic’ to speed the shift up but that is not confirmed. It will never be instant.-The Muu’Nati use scarification for various things in their culture. Some use it to show their rank in the pack/tribe. Some use it to show their birthright. Some may use it to track any number of other things, such as how many battles they have been a part of, how many of a certain ceremony they’ve participated in, or maybe even record an important event in their life.-High emotion can push them into a shift. They CAN change at will… but if they are emotional, they may have to completely calm down before they can change back. Their feral form is very feral. They don’t have their normal demeanor when the wolf is in control and it takes a LOT of training and a solid Alpha to keep them properly on track. Fear, blood, pain… sensing those things may very well send them into predator mode.
-The Muu’Nati (being daughters of the moon goddess) are strongly linked to the moon. On the day of the full moon, the day before it and the day after, ALL Muu’Nati are forced into their feral ‘were-’ form. At other times, they can choose which shape to take, but during the full moon, the feral animal rules and they must change.-It IS possible that something could prevent this change. Such as an enchanted collar that nullifies magic. However, if this is the case, they would be very sick during those three days and it would be a very painful experience. It does not ‘get better’ with time, every full moon would be just as agonizing as the last.
