  • The Sul'Naui of Penyu'dagat

    Sul'Naui. Pronounced: "Soul-Now-Wee"

Centuries past, when the tribes of Veylenar were young, and the gods more active, there were many warrior tribes, like the Muu'Nati. Different gods gave those elite tribal warriors, specific gifts and those various blessings are what sorted them into these continent-ranging tribes. Just like the Muu'Nati, are made up of werewolf, Amazonians, another tribe may have a different ability and a different purpose. Over the course of the centuries, all but the Muu'Nati have died out, their deities gone quiet for unknown reasons, leaving the occasional tribal canine to display strange abilities, but no one to come collect them. There are legends of various warriors and "super tribes," (for lack of a better term,) who successfully defeated different adversaries to the greater tribes as a whole, but the details are fuzzy and lost to time. The Sul'Naui were one of those tribes.

Watched over by the great sea turtle, Penyu, one of the Sun Deities of the tribes, his chosen people are born with an affinity for water and air that makes them able bodied swimmers, sailors, and sub-mariner warriors. Tasked with defending the tribes against eldritch denizens of the deep, they gained the ability to adapt to the sea with emerging gills and transforming legs, as well as developing a wind or water based breath weapon. The most elite of the Sul'Naui were also granted a magical weapon to aid in their fight against the tentacled, chitinous-shelled, lobstrocity-clawed creatures seeking to abduct and consume the canine folk above.
  • Sul'Naui Specific Gifts

Gills: Chest gills, not neck gills. There is no time limit on the gills, allowing them to remain submerged for a limitless amount of time, however, they do not gain any gifts to deal with pressure and have a definitive limit to the depth they can travel.

Water-Breathing, Fresh or Salt water: 1x a day, can "projectile-vomit" a massive deluge of water with more strength than a fire hose. This water spawns from a natural source and simply propels up the throat with the force of the vacuum that sucked it out of its previous location. Fresh water should be drinkable, but who would want to?

Wind-Breathing: Much more pleasant. 1x a day, can breathe out hurricane like winds. The air seems to originate from the lungs, but with the added gale force winds of the atmosphere sucked through a vacuum and released upwards out of the esophagus. "I'll Huff and I'll Puff ..."

Fish tail lower bodies: Merfolk, basically, fish from the waist down. Technically, they could be fish or mammalian in design, and if there was a meaning to which are received, it is still lost.

Sea Turtle Flippers: Legs flatten, forming massive twin flippers that originate from the hips. The tail of the canine warrior forms a smaller version of the merfolk-tail. Not as powerful propulsion, but much more control to underwater maneuvering.
