Forums » City Council Building » First Floor

The city council building is small but towers up above the city, the cement stained with acid rain and the floors scuffed up by hundreds of feet. City Council is currently not in session, so it sits empty, the sconces unlit. That, at least, is expected.

However, what isn't expected is the body in the center of the hallway.

A Janitor is the one to find it in the early hours of the morning- about 5 AM, to be precise. From the entrance to the building, it's hard to make out any details save for a pool of red blood.

Investigation: Begin
Note: To investigate, RP what your character is looking at, and then bold the question the mod needs to answer.

For example...

Character one ate a muffin, then lifted up the seat to see what might be hiding under it.

Robert entered the scene, adjusting his messy bun as he eyed the victim with a frown. How unfortunate... he thought to himself as he neared the body and examined them to see if they had any external wounds.

It seems to be a male body, wearing a jumpsuit with grey and white stripes. He's sprawled face-down on the floor, with what seems to be a bullet hole right in between his shoulders, about 6 inches down from his neck.
Artemis would be jumping from each security camera and was met with a dead body near the camera, Artemis zoomed in the camera. Artemis watched as a man walked up to the dead body.

Artemis would see the body, grey and white jumpsuit stained with a spreading stain of blood. It was sprawled out as if he had fallen while running.
Knowing he would be in a foul mood if he didn't eat, Hansae took two big bites out of his roast beef sandwich then sniffed the air and followed the stench of blood towards the crime scene.
The blackhaired young man approached the policeman standing by the corpse greeting him with a toothy grin: "Morning, Robert! What do we have here?"
He crouched next to the body to examine it more closely. Hansae was known to snoop around crime scenes and help the police force time and again.

Body is very pale: victim had brown hair and his skin is covered with several minor scrapes on his arms. There’s also a red welt in a perfect circle around both of his wrists.
Still munching on his sandwich, Hansae then proceeded to put on rubber gloves to examine the wrists more closely, touch the bullet wound and sniff the blood. "Do we know who this 'John Doe' is?" he asked Robert.

The wrists have two parallel, perfectly straight welts with a bit of raised skin in between. The entire area of skin that’s been messed up is about a centimeter in diameter and circles the wrist.

The bullet wound is small, seemingly from a hand gun, and is directly in between the shoulder blades.

Robert looked over at Hansae, waving a small hello to the other. "Hey um...Unfortunately not. Um, how can you even eat during this?" He questioned Hansae with a concerned look. Mostly because...Well despite being a Policeman and seeing his fair share of death already in this town, he doubt he could stomach anything. Not even a beloved doughnut.

He leaned down and decided to search the victims pockets for identification. "S-Sorry sir..." He made a small face as he invaded the dead's privacy. "Maybe he has his wallet on him or something?...I wonder what he was trying to run away from. Poor fellow."

There is no wallet, and he checks he may realize that this is a prison uniform. The only identification is a prisoner number on the man's front pocket.

Hansae grinned toothily and swallowed the last bit of his sandwich. "Easy, I'm hungry as hell," he replied, then threw another glance at the body before he decided: "Can you help me turn him around? There should be an identification number on his uniform." He reached unter the body to move it and examine the front. "Also, could you lend me your mobile for a bit?"
Artemis would watch as another person walking towards the body, she would hack into the mainframe of the lights and turn them off smirking as she tripped the fire alarm as she left. She didn't like death , so that's why she was uploaded.

Hansae cupped his ears as the alarm sounded. "Fire alarm? Now?! For f*ck's sake! Can you turn that off?" he growled, "Check who did this, while I stay with the body in case someone wants to temper with it." He could see just fine without the additional light.

The identification number is 10996. The front of the uniform is stained with blood, and seems to be very worn, with the cuffs frayed and the colors faded. There is a clump of dirt on top of the man’s head.

He jumped a bit as the fire alarm blared throughout the building. Oh geez...He trusted Hansae and nodded firmly, "Right! I'll be right back then, I'll find the perp. Maybe they have something to do with the murder as well!!" He threw his fists into the air excitedly, before he scampered off to go find Artemis. While he's running, he made sure to keep an eye on his surroundings while exploring the building.

Keeping an eye out for eventual approachers Hansae tried to ignore the noise which might veneer footsteps. Instead he touched the dirt and sniffed it to determine its origin, then proceeded to search the body for further clues and waited for Robert's return.

There is nothing on the ground floor except a wall of elevators. They seem to be almost Art Deco. There is also a set of stairs leading downwards.

The elevators go all the way up to floor 6. However, the building seems to be taller than that.

Roll two d6 to see how well Hansae’s abilities are working. The only other clue seems to be that the man fell towards the door, almost like he was running towards the outside.
