Darkness in San Diego Code of Conduct
We continue to be an inclusive community that does everything in its power to provide a fun, safe environment for our players, and make every effort to ensure that people are not unfairly dismissed from the community. Players that are found to break the rules of the Code of Conduct will be subject to discussion with the Admins/ST, possible penalties on monthly XP drops, or banning if poor behavior does not improve.
The Admins/STs always reserve the right to say "NO"
*Age: With the inherent nature of the dark theme in mind, you MUST be 18 or older to play. This restriction ensures we maintain a venue that empowers each player to be responsible and accountable for their level of investment and their actions within the community. Players found to be misrepresenting their age to participate in the game will be banned.
*Adherence to Facebook and Google+/YouTube Terms of Service and Use Policies: Players should make themselves familiar with the Facebook, Google+ and YouTube ToS and Use policies. Failure to follow these policies can put not just your account, but the community as a whole in jeopardy. If you are found to be in violation of any of these policies you will be warned, and any scenes in question will be retconned.
*Harassment: Harassment of other players in and out of character is not tolerated. Period. If you believe you or another player is being harassed, contact a member of the Admin Team as soon as possible so we can attempt to resolve the situation. The first report will result in mediation between the two parties. A second report will result in ejection from the game. Filing false harassment reports is just as serious as harassment itself and will result in a permanent ban from the community. Depending of the seriousness of the Harassment, the Admins reserve the right to remove a player upon the first report.
*Inappropriate Behavior:
*Flaming/baiting players in threads on the group page, chat, or in forum topics
*Excluding Players from participating in discussions or scenes by speaking in languages not everyone understands and not offering or providing translation.
*Insulting, racist, sexually related, drug-related, harassing or generally objectionable statements. (outside the context of play)
*Excessively repeating identical or similar statements or using badly formatted or nonsensical text or dialogue in a scene.
*Religious or political public statements or other public statements which are not related to the topic of the game in hand
*Statements that support, incite, announce or imply a violation of the San Diego Rules or Code of Conduct.
*Disclosing Private Data: Disclosing the private data, including but not limited to: phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, birth-dates of another player will result in a permanent ban from the community.
*Phishing/Scamming and/or Spamming
You will be given ONE warning. After that, continuing with inappropriate behavior will result in a PERMANENT ban from the community.
*Admin Rulings: When Admins are asked to rule on something, the Admin Team sits down and talks things out. This means we sometimes take second and third looks. Players agree to abide by all Admin Rulings with the understanding that rulings may change as the game progresses and that mistakes can and do happen.
*Admin “Fishing": When and Admin tells you “No.” It means “No.” Repeatedly asking the same questions of multiple members of the Admin Team seeking the desired answer can result in disciplinary action or removal from the game
*Meta-Gaming: Meta-gaming is inappropriate and unacceptable in this venue and community. However, mistakes can happen from time to time and we are willing to be somewhat lenient with this. Most of the time and ST/Admin will warn the player on the offending video, or through PM and will instruct you if a retcon will be need or provide advice for future play.
If the Meta-gaming is constant and repetitive, or is found to be malicious in nature and clearly cheating on part of the player, the Admin/ST team has the right to remove the player from the game.
*Powergaming: Powergaming, Munchkining, Min-Maxing, ect. Is inappropriate in any community based game venue. As such, we may ask players at character creation to create a more balanced character. Characters that are found to be any of these things will not be approved for play. Instances of power gaming after character creation may result in warnings, retcons, re-rolls, or possible ban.
*Inactivity: As this venue has a limited capacity, any player who does not record any scenes for three months (downtime to downtime), will be considered inactive and removed from play. The player will be removed from the group page and their character will be removed from the game. The character will be considered gone and cannot be played again. The Admins reserve the right to use that character as a NPC for story purposes. If the player wishes to return they will have to join the group page again or be placed on the waiting list and create a new character based on the current character creation rules. Please be considerate. We do have a waiting list, so if you do not intend to play your character, or you find you don't have time, please let us know so that we can give someone else a chance to play. If you know you will be inactive for a long period of time, but intend to return, you may shelf your character, but know that when you decide to come back you may have to wait until there is an opening for your return. Shelved characters will have priority on the waiting list.
*“Toxic Players": Players that are “toxic” are players that have become harmful or disruptive to the venue and community outside of harassment or mechanical abuse. Toxic players also tend to make running the venue overly difficult. If a player is found to do this, the Admin team will do everything in its power to resolve the issue. However the team reserves the right to request him/her/they to leave or to remove from the venue entirely on serious circumstances or if issues do not cease.
Please be polite, kind, and fair with your Admins/STs and Fellow players.
If a player is found to be breaking these rules, they could result in mediation, penalty on XP, or banning from the game. All bans are final and permanent.
By playing in our game, you agree to abide by the code of conduct.
