Dakota wears a rather refined outfit, consisting of a long sleeved, black jacket, he typically wears it unbuttoned. Underneath, he wears a short sleeved, white button up shirt. He frequently wears a red ribbon loosely tied on his jacket, the ribbon had been a gift from his little sister, like his sister, he holds the ribbon close to his heart. He often wears a pair of black pants with white stripes going down the front of them, the legs are often tucked into his long, black boots. He wears a pair of matching gloves and has a strange bracelet on his wrist, in it are a number of gems, he often uses it to hold the Keystone and Mega Stones. His partner Pokemon, Victini, can often be seen resting in his arms.

Dakota is a kindhearted, rather laid back trainer with a rather nonchalant, low-key cheerful attitude, though he's a bit closed off to new people. He rarely shows enthusiasm unless it relates to food, Pokemon, or his significant other. He has a huge appetite for food and can almost always be seen with something in his mouth, whether it's candy, leftovers from lunch, or a twig. Despite his appetite for food, he isn't anywhere close to being overweight, so this might come from the fact that he has an insatiable appetite for adventure and unless it's time to settle down, eat, or go to sleep, he'll be aimless wandering in search of something to explore. He loves hot chocolate and will take every opportunity he has to make some. He absolutely adores his sister, he holds her close to his heart, being highly protective of her. He refuses to let anyone he doesn't trust get close to her. He loves his Pokemon quite a bit as well. While Dakota isn't necessarily stupid, he certainly isn't very bright either.
