In the late 1980s rumors began to surface about occult leanings in the mother chapter, that the original six officers had made a pact with the devil himself to evade life in prison. They aren't exactly wrong but the Warriors will do little to confirm or deny the speculation. In some ways, the rumors and the reputation it's fostered has aided in keeping their organization running. Most organizations with ties to the supernatural will fear that going too far in messing with them could attract attention from the demonic forces that surround them. The rings they were gifted by the entity known as "Ol' Joe" are forged of the stuff of darkness. The officers of the 1st Battalion are counted as the Inaroth Vitia, humans who've made pacts with the crossroads demons recruiting souls for the army of the damned through use of deals and bargains, usually given unholy artifacts that gift their wearer with terrible and awesome abilties...for a price.
The Rings
Made of an indestructible, black metallic stone with gold engraved sigils in the center, each ring is different but they all imbue the wearer with the same gifts and the very same curse that damns their souls to servitude both in life and in the afterlife. The rings forge to the wearer's flesh and bone, essentially becoming an extension of their very body and cannot be removed by normal means.
Characteristics
The officers of the MC have always been human, this has always been a requirement in order to fulfill their end of the bargain which is passed when each officer is elected. These humans are given enhanced physical prowess, making them much stronger than run of the mill humans, less prone to injury and stamina that is unrivaled by most of their race. They are faster, stronger and more durable and difficult to kill. They heal at an astonishing rate, wounds that would often take months to recover from often only take a few days.
In addition, their sense of perception is warped upon reception of the ring. The wearer has an increased chance of sensing supernatural entities and objects, usually by sight in the form of a faint aura around the creature though it can also manifest in a strong feeling of inexplicable unease when in the proximity of something dangerous.
The Officers are still mortal beings, they age and can be injured, though the aging process is far less debilitating for them as they retain much of their energy well into their older years and are less given to wearing down. Wearers of Inaroth in the past have reached ages up to 130 years old.
They cannot regrow limbs nor are they immune to poisoning though illness is rare as it seems their immune system is accelerated by the presence of their demonic artifacts.
Wearers also tend to suffer from disturbing visions and nightmares, often seeing glimpses into the hellscape of the afterlife itself, as it is what awaits them when their lives come to an end.
