Welcome!
Good day to you, most treasured visitor! Welcome to the Roleplay Kingdoms!
You may wonder what this group exactly does. That question is answered simple enough; we create our own kingdoms and areas of the world map in which we set loose our characters to play in! Sounds fun, doesn't it?
Every creator manages their own kingdoms regarding how government works, the NPCs, general descisions and relations with other people's kingdoms. That way every person can create their own personal events for all to participate in and act as a 'Dungeon Master' for their own territory.
Your kingdom is your own making! Go wild! Be as creative as you can be! This is a fantasy setting after all. As long as you don't build 'Gunsville, land of AK-47's" and make your troops a bunch of Navy Seals, you have a carte blanche!
This means your characters are also allowed to join other kingdoms, or simply visit them. Anything goes!
Did this concept tickle your fancy? Then feel free to join. We are always looking for more people!
Here's some guidelines on how to get started.
First of all, you might want to go through the different Kingdom and City descriptions in the General Discussions forum. You can choose a kingdom based on one of those.
Second, if you've picked a kingdom that you like, or created one yourself, you can enlist your character to it. To do so, go to Kingdom Enlistment and add your characters name and the kingdom of choice as a reply. Me, Olthain, or another admin will then update your name into the list, and off you go!
Extra: You don't nessecarily have to start a new RP, of course. If you see a cool RP, make sure to just join in the fun! -
Rules
Of course, like in any group, there's a few rules to heed. These rules are quite simple and common, of course. But there's just a few things to keep in mind when you're creating your own kingdom and such.
1: No god-mode characters/kingdoms
This rule applies almost everywhere. No one likes interacting with a character that can and will destroy you with the blink of an eye. The same applies to kingdoms or societies that have some sort of doomsday weapon that blows up everything they dislike. Keep everything balanced for the most fun interactions!
2: Keep a respectful disposition
Respecting the other member's ideas and presence is key to having a fun group of people around. Therefore I must ask you to be respectful around others, even if you don't agree with their ideas in order to avoid unnecessary fights.
3: Stick to the fantasy setting
The fantasy setting is a loose setting that focuses on a medieval time period. However, this world has a lot of freedom in it. We will accept light steampunk and magitech influences to add more flavor to roleplays. Sci-fi and modern world technology are not accepted however. We have to set the line somewhere!
4: Original creations only
We don't allow canon characters from different settings in this group. For instance, Daenarys Stormborn has to go back to Westeros, and Goku from DBZ is not allowed in either. The same goes for creating kingdoms. Creating a country has to be made entirely by you, and shouldn't be Atlantis or Equestria. You can use existing countries as a basis for your own, of course, but in the end, the creation has to be yours only.
5: Ask permission to start events in someone else's country
It's fun to start things in a different country and see how the owner reacts to it, but of course this may require permission, depending on how huge of an impact said event could have in a kingdom. Small events like your character visiting a city are probably not much of an issue, but if you want to start a full on war, that might require you to ask permission, as the consequences of said war could be game-changing. Therefore, a quick friendly message is always appreciated if you want to plan something.
6: No meta-gaming
Using OOC knowledge to give yourself an advantage or even read the future ICly is simply not fun and should even be considered to be cheating in a storytelling sense. Stories revolving around secrecy should not be known to your faction unless the owner gives you the permission to have been secretly present at whatever is going on.
