Enshia
A high density island chain off the southwestern coast of the expanse that is almost constantly surrounded by a unusual mist of varying thickness. Due to the nature of their lands, Enshian's are typically regarded as expert seamen, able to navigate the ever changing shroud that surrounds their home.
Buildings in Enshia are typified by wooden structures, elevated slightly off the ground, with tiled or thatched roofs. Sliding doors are used in place of walls, allowing the internal configuration of a space to be customized for different occasions. People are usually seated on cushions or otherwise on the floor. Most Enshian's observe a noon tea time if possible. The general diet consist mainly of fish and rice served with small sides of other game animals. Smaller game such as rabbits, raccoon, and squirrels are plentiful. A popular way of hunting small game is by Falconry. Larger game is often taken through traps or archery.
Magic and it's users are often considered a national resource, though their numbers remain somewhat small. Enshian mages occur naturally in two very distinct forms, Carriers are those able to create various entities and Maidens, who are naturally gifted with healing magic.
The magic used in Enshia, while common 'new' magic carries a distinctly strange and dark resonance similar to 'wild' magic. It is unknown if this is the cause for the discrepancies in the numbers of Carriers compared to Maidens or any of the other unusual qualities in Enshian mages. It has been noted that Carriers universally have a strangely heavy appetite, especially after using magic.
(Extra note: Enshian magic will get a separate and much more detailed abilities section and break down between the two types once more in depth planning is finished. Please stay tuned and feel free to offer suggestions and thoughts! Thank you!))
Militarily, Enshia has a focus on naval combat and surprise long ranged attacks. Spears followed by Short-swords are the norm for close combat along with typically fabric armor with Lamellar armor at critical points.

Geography
Enshia has a semi-mountainous geography with moderate to small mountains appearing on the majority of the larger islands. From the foot of the mountains the landscape rather quickly turns to rolling hills before finally flattening out just before reaching the sea.
The smaller islands of the chain tend to be of a similar, if smaller variation of the larger islands. These typically lack the distinctive mountains, instead consisting mostly of considerably less steep hills and plains. The smallest and outermost islands are generally flat in nature, offering multiple deep water ports.
In all, there is a total of nearly one hundred islands of various sizes and shapes that make up the nation of Enshia.
Climate
Winter in Enshia is quite dry and cold, the temperatures regularly dropping below 32°F. The temperature decreases as you move from the outer and southern islands towards the central and northern islands, with those regions experiencing considerable snowfall. The southern and outer islands are relatively temperate and experiences a milder winter, though snowfall is still common.
Spring temperatures are warm but not too hot, plus there isn’t too much rain. Vibrant flowers bloom during this time and there are plenty of festivals to enjoy.
Summers arrival is signaled by a three to eight-week rainy season during which the farmers plant their rice and fishermen bring in much larger catches. It is hot and humid during this time and temperatures are often in the mid 80’s.
Autumn is characterized by light breezes and cooler temperatures of around 46-50ºF. It’s during autumn that many exhibitions, music concerts and sports tournaments are held. Autumn is also considered the best time for travel between the islands and the mainland.
Most island forests consist of many broad-leaved evergreens, such as evergreen oaks. As one moves towards the central and northern islands, beeches and non-evergreen oaks become common. Forests in the central and northern parts of the country often consist of conifers like spruces and firs.

Magic and Mages
Magic used in Enshia and the mages resulting from it are extremely unusual compared to other mages of the Expanse. Enshian mages universally have some degree of heterochromia along with natural ability to water slide. Enshian mages are also noted to have extended lives, though only slightly. Of important note is that all Enshian mages are female. No Enshian mage ever fully retires, with the oldest members still occasionally serving as teachers and advisers for younger members.
Enshian mages are separated into two distinct organizations closely resembling the guilds of the mainland. While both have standard uniform colors, the uniform style is largely left to the individual. As such, no two uniforms are the same after being issued.
Maiden's are more common compared to Carriers and often act as traveling doctors, constantly moving between the various islands. Permanent clinics established by more experienced Maidens on medium sized islands often serve as dispatch centers, employing recently trained Carriers as a means of sending aid request to roaming Maidens as well as give the freshly trained Carriers experience.
Carriers are often placed into military service, either serving as scouts, messengers or archers though all three are able to perform the others duties. The choice of official role is often left to the individual.
While Carriers where originally organized under the military of Enshia, they are fully represented as a separate force on the ruling council in modern times. The standard Carrier uniform colors consist of red and white, though brown is often worn in place of red until a Carrier is no longer considered inexperienced. Brown is often worn for roughly the first two years of a Carrier's official career. Blue is another accepted color, though only those that have served as part of the ruling council are authorized to wear it. Carrier armor consist of a breast plate bearing the Carriers initials followed by arm bracers, gloves and hip/leg armor. The most significant section of armor is the long arm shield. The shield is used both as protection, and as a point of return for certain created entities. Carriers have a basic mental link to their entities, often used for receiving feedback and giving commands. In order to fully receive feedback, Carriers must enter a semi-meditative state. Depending on the group size and situation, only one to two Carriers are allowed to enter this state, using the rest of the group for defense. Carriers always carry their bow and a full quiver of arrows along with them, no matter the occasion. For emergencies in which a Carrier is unable to use their bow, such as a enemy getting in past their Maiden defenders, Carriers practice a basic knife defense that makes use of a Carrier's agility.
Maidens originally formed under the command of the Interior committee, in modern times they are fully represented on the ruling council alongside the Carriers. The standard Maiden uniform colors are white with accenting colors denoting the particular skill level of the Maiden. Untrained Maiden's wear solely white, where as a trained Maiden's uniform is accented by yellow. Experienced Maiden's wear black while Maiden's having served on the council wear green. In combat Maiden's tend to only wear a breast plate of the same style as a Carriers.
In combat groups of Maiden's almost always act as support for Carriers groups, both tending to stay far from the main combat. If enemies are able to close to close combat, Maiden's are able to reverse their healing abilities for use in combat, though this has shown to excessively drain the Maiden of mana and strains the body.
Carriers use the initial flight time of their fired arrows as a form of casting. Once reaching the proper in-flight time, arrows burst into flames from which entities are created. This leaves them unable to properly use their magic in close combat, forcing Carriers to rely on escorting Maiden's for proper defense. Flame color can vary by individual, though most flames tend to look akin to natural fire.

Politics
A Brief Summery of the Council
The nation of Enshia has been politically stable for roughly three hundred years. It was at that time that the current Council system was implemented by five warring lords, who after decades of on and off fighting, finally tired of the fighting in old age. With the ushering in of the new system, the joint wealth of the lords went to improving and recovering from the years of fighting and ending with the dissolution Lord's houses themselves. Even though peace had arrived, It took several more decades for the new system to fully take root and the old flames and animosity of war to finally settle.
While there has been the occasional uprising by various small groups with dreams of restoring the Lord Houses of old, the majority of the population is been content with the current system.
The councilors themselves are mostly chosen based on their shown ability to succeed in the field of the chair they are wishing to hold. The only change in this procedure is for the two mages of Enshia. Both the Carrier and Maiden councilors are chosen by consensus of their respective organizations.
