Let's talk about what dangerous and benign wildlife a traveller is likely to encounter
ooh, that sounds interesting. I won't speak for anywhere else in the world, but I think no one will hold it against me if I go ahead and describe what people can find in the swamps, where Vos Valkear is located.
Wildlife in Sssrakalaaz Marshes
Near and inside the rivers and lakes
Alligators
Aquatic reptilians capable of killing prey three times larger than they are.
Rarity: common
Threat level: intermediate
Crocodiles
Slightly larger than an alligator and with a wider jaw.
Rarity: uncommon
Threat level: intermediate
Raptor Crocodiles
Crocodile like creatures who run much faster than they swim.
Rarity:Rare
Threat level: high
Beavers
Furry mammals with flat tails and strong trees, capable of felling trees.
Rarity: common

Snapping turtles
Small turtles with powerful jaws, able to snap a finger straight off of your hand.
Rarity: uncommon

Anacondas
Serpentine reptiles, capable of swimming, climbing trees and sliding across the land at great speed.

Capybaras
Brown coated furry mammals, the size of an average dog.

Bears
With fur colors ranging from black to brown, these are giant mammals with much strength and stamina.

Ursaurs
When on its hind legs, these gigantic bears reach the size of a pine tree. It's said these beasts sleep for hundreds of years under rivers or land, and once rested, will burst out of the ground and level villages in order to sate their hunger. These beasts are considered a legend, though. In the history of the world, only three encounters with Ursaurs are documented.

Threat: Highly Dangerous in packs, Dangerous solo.
Pitch Fiend.
Coronet's own abomination still loosed upon the plains.
Rarity: Rare.
Threat: Extremely Dangerous.
Blink Dogs.
No bigger than an average sized dog, blink dogs scavenge the plains and are rather harmless.
Rarity: Common.
Threat: Low.
Ankhegs.
Burrowing creatures with 6 legs. They can grow to 10 feet in length and weigh 800 pounds.
Rarity: Uncommon.
Threat: Moderate. Dangerous in a nest.
Cockatrice.
A cockatrice has the head and body of a rooster, bat wings, and the long tail of a lizard. They are territorial and not very bright.
Rarity: Uncommon.
Threat: Dangerous within its territory. Moderate else-where.

I approve of this. I had such wonderful fun playing Dark Souls this weekend. Heapings of hatemail, and then they're all surprised that they were slain by a female. As if that is a surprise at all.
