Rules

  • Forum topic RP, update when you can, where you can.

    General rules:

Keep swearing to a minimum, though it is aloud, also blood and gore, extreme violence, and situations of a sexual nature (only in the alotted blackout sub-forums). Seeing as how this is a forum post, and not a dedicated night, I need lengthy responses. I'm not asking you to write War and Peace, but write enough so that the person responding has enough to go off of seeing as how most of us won't be around when they post.Proper grammar should be followed, as well as what I like to call "Storyline Posting": Where character actions are described (I.E. Larry Saw the red apple sitting on the table, he then picked it up and took a bite.) And character speech in quotations ("THIS IS A DAMN GOOD APPLE!" Exclaimed Larry.) Detail detail detail.

    Trainer rules:

Trainers can have their own dedicated backstory, and don't necessarily have to be from the region you are playing like Larry, he was born in Pallet Town Kanto, but moved to Mauville Hoenn when he was young. Since he currently resides in Hoenn, he would be in the Hoenn campaign. They need to have pictures, if not full description. I'd like to see new creative characters, you can use already made RP characters, but I don't want characters that are carbon copies of Gym leaders or other characters.

    Pokemon rules:

You get a choice of six per character, choose carefully because they're the only six you get. You can choose any Pokemon as long as it isn't a legendary. You need three for your main team (They don't have to be in Pokeballs, and can walk freely with your character) and three for a backup team (these must be in Pokeballs) Each one has four moves, choose carefully because once again you cannot change them. Pokemon can have a customized look if you so wish, they can also have nicknames. When submitting your characters, you must tell me your Pokemon, their movelist and a brief description of what they look like. Main team Pokemon can be played as characters as well.

    Region creation rules

If you're one of the few given the task of creating the story for a region, you can change what you will. Think of this as an alternate universe for Pokemon, you can stay along the canon story if you want, however I would appreciate it if we got some new fresh stories out there. CHange what you want. Don't like a gym leader? Get rid of her, replace her with someone else, want to make a town bigger? Do it. Just include good reason in a designated regional storyline sub-forum. These story lines will be all happening at the same time.

If you have a question not covered in the rules, message Evan Waggamon, or Cynthia Harlan on Facebook, or leave a comment in The Gamer's Guild Social group.

    Above all have fun!

    Battle Rules

Evasion Rules: Pokemon can evade NO MORE THAN 2 times in a row, and moves that in game are previously and always stated as an *always hits* move, like Swift and Faint Attack, then you cannot evade them. End of story. Surprising a pokemon, like coming from behind or from shadows/hiding places, can cause a stunned reaction. This is not a paralysis, this is simply a pause in their action in which the other has a chance to do damage, like in a normal fistfight.

Status Effects: If certain effects keep a pokemon in a state where it is unable to battle, then they CANNOT MOVE. You can evade them, but take into account the rules on evasion, and if the pokemon is caught by surprise, they cannot evade. Now if you use something like weather or another pokemon's moves (There can be extra rules between trainers, and double battles are allowed) to fix the Frozen effect or remove a status effect, then by all means. Play like it is really happening.

Move Duration and Movesets: Pokemon should never have moves that none of the games have allowed. Having said that, if a pokemon needs to charge or recharge for a move, you WILL PLAY IT OUT, or the Region Master (calling it an RM for now) has right to forfeit the action you played and go in and edit the post with a simple statement of *this move does not count* or *the action by this pokemon is forfeit* and so on. Moves that cannot be learned by egg-hatched pokemon, or even taught to the pokemon, will not be tolerated as well. You have several game generations to choose from, and if you pick a generation for one pokemon, that does not mean you have to pick the same for each pokemon (though it is highly advised for those who don't know other generations.)
