This is not aimed at anyone, nor is it here to make people feel dumb. It's simply here as a reminder so fights do not ensue because someone is "God-Modding" their pokemon, trainer, backstory and whatnot, and it's to help first time role players to get an understanding of good graces in an RP forum.
Proper Etiquette
We want you guys to have fun. That doesn't mean you have to be a total rule nazi, but be friendly and try to remind others if they seem to consistently break a rule and it seems to be on accident. You don't have to call them out in a sub-forum chat, but maybe talk to them on facebook by PM. Or even PM them here! Please follow the rules, try to correct your grammar and spelling as best you can, and try not to overdo it because there is no real word count, paragraph count, or sentence count. Give us a good amount to go off of so we can tell where to go next, and that's all that we need.

God Modding
This is essentially the act of taking a character and making them so powerful that not even the RM can do a thing about it with their own (In my opinion). You are not the MOST POWERFUL THINGS in existence. We shouldn't have to tell you that. Each Region Master (RM) will have the powerful trainers, your duty is to fight them to the best of your ability. Not all regions will have the power run kind of style. Let the battle flow, try to outsmart the other trainer, and do NOT think you are smarter than them, they might pull out a tactic you didn't think of.
Controlling another Character
It is never fun when a DM has to take control of a character, but that is only because it might be necessary. I hope here, the RM will ask before doing such a thing, but otherwise I doubt we should have this issue with them. The main concern is do not tell people where they are being lead, what they are doing, or what they even say unless they give you express permission to do so. You are not them, and they might feel the character acts differently than you do.
Sportsmanship
I shouldn't have to say this... no one should. But if you lose a battle, there is no reason to cuss them out outside of the RP. Your character lost, not you. If they are the type to carry on and throw a fantastic fit over it, then let them. You do not. I do not see pikachu running around the grassy areas, nor do I see pidgey flying in the skies. Please, for the love of God (Or Arceus), do not throw a fit and cause drama over an RP. This is meant so that when it's over, we can go back and read it like a story. Let's make the story interesting without having to drop it because of drama.
