The World of Pokemon

With the Awakening of Groudon and Kyogre, they began a battle that tore Hoenn apart. "The Emerald Hero" as he is now called due to the green coloring of his clothing as well as his capture of the Pokemon Rayquaza, ended the battle between the two and vanished. But not before they could damage Hoenn greatly. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes and raging flood waters took their toll on the people and Pokemon of the region. Death tolls count in the hundreds. A large crack opened in the tectonic plates in Rustboro, destroying the gym and Pokemon trainer school, sending the gym leader Roxanne tumbling to her death. The volcano Mt. Chimney erupted, sending magma flowing down to Lavaridge and Fallarbor, the gym leader Flannery tried to save as many as she could, but could not save anyone. She is filled with survivor's guilt as she tries to repair the two towns. A hurricane spun up in the battle between Rayquaza and Kyogre flattened Lilycove, trapping many in the rubble of the art institute and shopping center. The Elite four tower in Ever Grande City collapsed, killing none but trapping the Elite Four inside. Wallace and Juan met their end with their Pokemon attempting to save Sootopolis from raging waters. Their sacrifice was enough to save the city, but Pacifidlog was swept away. Mossdeep also was not lucky enough to be saved. As the storm surge pounded the houses, the gym leader Tate lost her life while her sister attempted to save her. Dewford and Slateport also took a beating however not as badly as the other seaside cities, though the cycling road collapsed. The power generators outside Mauville flooded over, leaving the region without power for a time. However, Wattson relocated the generators to his gym.

The league in disarray, the Elite four went on a hiatus, attempting to help the victims. Steven took his place as the Champion, Norman took Drake's position as Drake wished to search for survivors of Pacifidlog and Mossdeep. Replacements are needed for those who lost their lives. As reconstruction continued they took the league off of hiatus. If anything in attempt to restore a sense of normalcy to the region.
