Map
Thunderclan
Empty Twolegcamp-an abandoned watchtower that has almost completely fallen apart. A large pile of rotting wood sits not to far from it; a small guard house that has since toppled over.
Duck Beach-a small stretch of sandy shore known for it's refreshing waters and occasional waterfowl.
Windclan
Empty Horseplace-an abandoned farming village who's windmills still turn and snarl at invaders.
The Cave-a large, jagged mouth that reveals a cave that is rather shallow. Clan cats and animals tend to take shelter here from the rain.
Riverclan
Monster Bones-the empty hull of a large human ship. Elders like to tell tales of the ferocious monster it once was.
Calmpool-a small lake loved by Riverclan for it's easy, clear waters perfect for learning to swim and fish.
Shadowclan
Hawk's Roost-a large mountain range feared for it's high cliffs, merciless predators, and agonizing climb. The ancestors of the clans traveled across them to settle here, along the river.
Tallrocks-a small gathering of large rocks used by Shadowclan to train apprentices; a frequent spot for snakes and lizards to crawl and slither about.
Starclan
Gathering Place-a small island accessible by a fallen tree. Aside from four boulders, a large, ancient tree stands tall, with it's branches pointed to the stars.
Moonden-the gathering spot for medicine cats to speak to Starclan. The crumbled ruins of an unknown structure offer no shield from the moonlight.
Starplace-a large island isolated in the center of the river. Many cats believe it is there that Starclan cats rest and live when the sun rises, and many dream of one day walking upon its shore.
Other
Empty Twolegplace-an abandoned village now over-run by wildlife and animals. Riverclan and Thunderclan have fought many a battle over it, although it offers little more than shelter and a few mice.
Bridges-the two bridges that connect the territories together belong to no clan, but are furiously guarded from the banks, as they the only way the clans can go during an invasion. -
Lore
No cat remembers when the clans first came to be. Such history has been lost to time, as has the stars that shone in those ancient skies. But one story remains, echoed through the elders to kits and kin to kin:
Many, many moons ago, the four clans traveled across the mountains, following the river as it flowed through valleys and snaked across the ragged earth. Why they had done so, not even the oldest elders know, but once they reached the peak of Hawk's Roost, they looked out onto a sight that raised their fallen spirits: after moons of travelling through barren, freezing rock came the sight of trees and green earth.
They descended into this land with aching paws and broken hearts, many of their clanmates lost to the merciless journey but nonetheless filled with the hunger to survive. However, once they trotted on its prey-filled grounds and tasted its sweet gifts, the scarce survivors of each clan at fell apart and shed blood among each other, their spirits lost to the clawing desperation of greed for food and visions clouded. War waged on between these scattered factions, and the noble clans seemed to shattered into oblivion. It is said that during these times, the stars never shined at night, their blood stained pelts illuminated only by the moonlight.
But one clan remained, smaller than any of the factions. The warrior Goldencloud, unlike her kin, had not forgotten the stars above her and the ancestors that guided her pawsteps. When the clans had fallen apart, she kept her claws sheathed and stood in front of Froststar when Smokestar striked, scratching out her eye but unable to stop the battle that would arise afterward. She wandered the clan-less territory alone and unwelcome until she came upon the fallen ruins of a two-leg den which she came to rest in, and found herself walking among her ancestors.
Starclan visited Goldencloud in her dreams, the fallen warriors that had passed on the journey embracing her with purrs from the newfound hope she had unknowingly brought. The stars had watched the clans fall apart and had wished to intervene, but with the clan's beliefs lost, no cat could see the heavenly bodies around them. Goldencloud was the only cat left who could restore order to the clans. Starclan promised her they would always walk beside her, and urged her to visit each of the factions and bring them to the Gathering Place, so that the stars may speak to their clanmates once more.
Moons and moons passed, but Goldencloud managed to bring the warring factions together to the Gathering Place as Starclan had asked. When the leaders of the factions stood within the branches of the tallest tree, the clouds that covered the sky parted to reveal a full moon, and the star-speckled spirits of their ancestors descended from above to meet their kin. The former clan's hostility dissipated as they found themselves beside the clanmates they once knew, reminded of the clan ways and the times they once shared together. Just as the clouds returned to shade the moon, the former leaders of each clan stood atop the rocks surrounding the tree and declared that their souls had become corrupted, and unless they return to the hearts and clans they once had, they would never walk among their kin again. They then fizzled away as the clouds covered the moon and threw the world into darkness.
The cats, realizing the mistakes they had made, looked onto Goldencloud for guidance. The factions formed themselves back into their clans, and the leaders of each clan followed Goldencloud to the Moonden, where they walked among the stars and either recieved their nine lives, or were reminded of their duty and code. United under the code, the clans divided the land into territories and formed their camps, rekindled the traditions they had abandoned and promised to never let themselves descend into such chaos again.
For her courage, loyalty and heart, Starclan gifted Goldencloud with the name Goldenmoon. The warrior did not return to clan life as the other cats did, and instead lived at the Moonden, guiding the clans and welcoming the new medicine cats and leaders until she suddenly vanished. Some cats say they've seen the golden she-cat wandering the territories, and others say she swam to the Starplace where she forever walks among her ancestors.
Generations later, the clans still thrive, their chaotic past abandoned and their hearts filled with spirit and life. Thunderclan, Riverlclan, Windclan and Shadowclan, even when at war, will always set tensions aside at Gatherings and at the darkest times. The stars have long since returned to their place in the sky, and the moon shines not on blood-stained pelts, but on star-lit paws.
