Aunt Eustice Marygold DeBur, a relative of Paper
A widow from the war, she did not leave during the war instead staying at her position. She is a high level member of the Order of Goetica. She is always elegantly dressed, often with plunging necklines. She wields proper etiquette like a weapon though within those bounds exercises and extreme amount of Independence and creativity. She has two extra vestigial arms. One modestly covers her cleavage, the other holds a pair of reading glasses on a stick.
Paper is her only living relative, having lost her own children and husband in the war.
She lives in the Marquis district.
George McCreedy a friend of Mordekai
Hard times call for hard men. George has never had an easy day in his life. He was born on a day when the sun didn't shine. With one fist of iron and the other of steel, he is confident his first punch resolves most problems, and the second solves anything the first doesn't.
Has a hard time keeping a job, but tries to keep to honest work- porter, bouncer, handyman etc. but more often then not, has the bad luck and temperament to get caught up in bad business.
Despite this he has a certain soft spot for honest folk, kids, dames, and kittens.
Dr. Thaddeus Prouse, and old friend of Mordekai
A confirmed bachelor, Dr. Prouse has a "consulting psychology" business in Brickhouse. He is well connected in various levels of government but is too polite to directly admit to this. He is however sometimes called to resolve delicate matters which take him away for some time.
He whistfully recalls "the good old days" or his youth, but never gives solid details.
He has a wide collection of weaponry from many different disciplines.
Lothor Leviathan Rex, Despoiler of Vermin, defender of Trixie the High Bitch, and Knight of the rubber ball, 3rd class. Protector of John. A friend of John Anderson.
A pit bull dog, loyal to John. Enjoys daily walks, and belly rubs. The above is his own name, which he only speaks to dogs. John calls him Otto Von Liechtenstein.
Moyshi, an associate of Paper
Moyshi is the second highest level weaver in Paper's circle. He has taken an interest in Paper and "taken her under his wing" Favoring her for promotion based on her current talents.
He finds everything too limiting and pushes for the pursuits of secrets because knowledge is power and the more you know...
His is an avowed anarchist, conspiracy theorist, and iconoclast, and generally a rebel without a clue because although he wants to tear down every system and pull back every veneer, he has no idea what to replace them with, insisting that it will be self evident when the truth is revealed. Hypocritically, he tends to horde information rather than setting it free.
Margret, an associate of Blair
A garment designer and silk connoisseur she has a shop front in the Reinvention district
She has a tattoo of a spider across her back with legs that extend and wrap around her torso and thighs. She favors open backed loose draped garments that reveal this skin ornamentation. The spider occasionally moves as if readjusting its hold on her. She can see through its eyes (near the small of her back)
She has a sweet tooth, and although she does not commercially produce silk herself, she keeps many silk worms and spiders as pets.
Leylia a friend of Mordekai
A knowledge spirit from the Blue Sun. It is ephemeral and materializes as a transparent shell of a female form (kind off like Cortana from Halo) It dissolves if looked directly at and becomes more solid if looked at from the corner of your eye. It may occupy any reflective surface and be seen as solid within the reflection. It speaks through thought, but this is head to all within the same range as voice volume. In Mordakai's house often enough you could say it lives there and frequently travels with him when he departs.
Hiram Daniels an associate of John
The post deliveryman who cares for the house John lives on. A body like a segmented centipede with a human face, 4 legs and a dozen or so arms. Tends to deliver just before tea time (3-4 pm) Happily married and often speaks of "the missus" in his conversations. Obviously came from poverty and hasn't escaped it, but happy with his lot because it is better than what it used to be as a child.
Milo Tanvir Tarvish, a friend of Paper
An initiate Vanican Vislae he owns a bookstore in the Palindrome district. Despite his young age he always dresses like an aged college professor, tweed jackets with patches on the elbows, and waistcoats.
Like other stores in Palindrome, you pass his store entering and exiting the district. His store is different however in that the books in each store are different. There is a backroom in each store as well, one has books chained to ensure they don't escape. The other contains books that are not books. The clothes he is wearing in each store are of different (usually opposite) hues.
Gregoris Chase a friend of Blair
A demon who looks like a thin Italian man with a crimson hue to his skin and molten gold eyes. He always wears suspenders. He is only ever seen at restaurants (ok, maybe a dinner party) but he is always there before you and already well into his meal. He constantly eats and will order more, and will continue well after you are done.
He has knowledge of several quasi and just plain illegal jobs and services because his cut covers his debts, but he is always in need of cash so is desperate to fill this middle man role. -
