I do not track the following unless I specifically state it at the beginning of a campaign: Experience, Carry weight/encumbrance, item/gear deterioration, food or water outside of extreme environments (see me for details), or hygiene. Some of these things are up to my discretion (ie. if you try to carry something like three dozen suits of leather armor and three dozen of the same kind of weapon. I will get creative in how I penalize you for something like that.). I encourage players to do things like bathing, sleeping, eating in their soft social rps outside of the main campaign. But you don't have to track things like that on your sheet, not that there really is a place on the sheet for something like that. I also do not track experience for several reasons, one it being a big hassle for me, instead my books give me milestone events at which the players characters will level up.
If a player is not joining in the campaign from the beginning but at a later date then they will get to make their character the same level as the rest of the party. This may seem unfair in some cases as the player did not work to get their character to that level but I need it that way to keep the game balanced and fun for all.
For now, I ask that all players restrict themselves to core and standard races, along with limited access to some of the unusual races found in the Advanced race guide. I do allow third party content in my games but it has to be examined by me first, so I would ask that you contact me first if its a third party race or class you wish to use. I do have access to thirty party races that are balanced and do well so if you are interested in playing as mythical type creatures or just cool fey like creatures in general the go ahead an contact me with a pm.
Players may use all of the classes from core, base, unchained, ultimate magic, and ultimate combat, I will allow certain classes from the advanced class guide such as the Arcanist (since thats what the wizard should have been like in the first place for Pathfinder), Bloodrager, and Warpriest. I will allow third party classes but again I must have a look at them first to make sure they are balanced for the game and not a threat in breaking the balance or game itself. If anyone wishes I have access to three third party classes, Dragonrider, Dracomancer, or Elementalist. I will only allow one of these three classes per game. So if your interested then you'd better ask first. Archetypes are allowed.
So to be clear, I do allow third party content but the reason I will be examining it before you put it into use is because I need to make sure that it will not completely break the balance of the game. A lot of the third party content that come out these days would completely break an old campaign such as Kingmaker.
Alternate racial traits will be fine so long as they are replacing something and not adding to the RP score for your character (if you're not sure what this means, please see me for clarification and assistance).
All newly created pathfinder characters should choose a total of three () traits. That of course goes along with the regular racial traits of a class. Two cannot be from the same list (you can't have two combat traits, or two social traits). And the third must be a campaign traitI encourage you to choose traits that fit into your character's backstory (or to build your backstory from the traits you've chosen). Or traits that may help you fit in better with the terrain or campaign of the setting. I may give extra traits at my own discretion during or at the end of campaigns. If your character has been given a trait (or had one removed at my discretion) that is permanent and carried into any future campaigns. If there is a specific trait you wish to use that is not part of the "Advanced Player's Guide," please speak to me for potential approval.
We do not require you to "confirm" a critical success. If your character rolled a critical success the first time, then a second roll to "check" is not required. Same goes for NPCs and enemies. Good luck should be celebrated! And of course if the enemy gets it then that's just bad luck.
For casting classes, we do not require you to cast detect magic in order to know that an item is magical in nature when held in the hand. But detect magic is still used in all other things such as detecting magical traps and things like that. If a caster picks up an item that is magical in nature we will all accept the assumption that the caster knows that it has magical properties of some kind. It is up to my discretion to ask for a knowledge or spell craft check in order for the character to determine the nature of the magical properties. This is done to prevent what we see as redundancy in the rules and to streamline the playing process, preventing unnecessary/extra rolling. Difficulty for these checks will be up to my discretion and depend on the character and item involved.
If your character has taken the toughness feat, they will gain +3 hit points when the feat is taken and then +1 hit point every level thereafter.
Treasure and coinage is to be divided between party members as it is picked up! The transient nature of online roleplaying means that players and characters are free to come and go as they please. We ask that parties NOT designate a "treasurer" and instead split any findings or earnings at time of receipt so that all characters are free to use as they see fit.
I'm setting a hard limit of twenty levels in any given class. This does not mean that you can't use your character anymore if they hit level 20! It simply means that you must put subsequent levels into a different class or prestige class. Effectively, this means that your character's level does not have a cap, but their skills in any given class will top out at twenty.
During combat portions we ask that everyone try to maintain a rate of at least one post every 1 to 2 days (time of day is unimportant) in order to maintain the forward motion of time. If it's been more than twenty four hours, then I may decide to move things along skipping over the absentee player. Absentee characters will be pulled along by the party (without any assumed actions and forfeiting their share of loot). If a character has been absent from activity for an extended period, the party may choose to leave that character behind at a safe spot in order to open up their place for a more active player. Adding/dropping characters from active parties will be considered on a case-by-case basis and characters may join, leave or rejoin parties (within reason) at GM discretion. Outside of combat (during social RP etc.) posting order and timelines are not observed.
