The room is medium-sized, but comfortable. It has four walls, at least two with windows to the outside. There’s a desk on the left wall, a bookshelf nearby. The bed lays on the back wall, a stand for his rifle and combat knives to hang. A door on the windowless wall leads to his bathroom, which is smaller than the room, but no less comfortable, with a shower and a toilet, a sink and a supply of Lab-made anti-viral soap. A picture of his family in New York City rests on the desk, a painful reminder of what he’s lost.
He stumbled into the room, putting his weapons away before settling in the bed, hoping that the nightmares would leave him alone, at least for tonight.
He woke up a bit later, another nightmare leaving him in a state of terror for a moment before it passed. He got up, moving to the desk and disassembling and reassembling his gun until there was a knock on his door.
Tommy had decided to discuss his idea with Nathan, especially after sensing movement from his room. He knocked on the door gently. "Nathan? Are you awake?"
He made his way to the door, opening it to the so-called ‘mage’ on the other side. “You needed something?”
Verla heard Tommy knock on Nathan's door and she opened hers to see if it would open, when it did, she walked out of her room and closed it and went to stand next to Tommy.
“What’s going on,” he asked, “Tommy here said he has a plan of som kind.”
Verla sighed "just hear him out and we can decide later what happens, if this whole thing turns out to be true anyways." She said to him.
“Right,” he sighed, “so what did you have in mind, Tom?”
Tommy nodded. "Yeah, so this bag right here has access to a pocket dimension, which contains all sorts of weapons and gear. Among the items in there, there is a special statue with the ability to call upon any number of past elemental heroes for a short amount of time. If we're looking for a cure to the bites, I'm sure one of them has the answer."
Verla looked at Nathan, just to see his reaction and what he'd say.
He was confused; a magic pouch? Elemental heroes? What in Oblivion was he going on about?
She could read his face and she nodded "my thoughts exactly." She said.
Tommy could tell that they didn't believe. "Look, it's been a tough life so far. I understand that it sounds insane, but trust me. It is real. I can even prove it to you."
She looked at Nathan, then she spoke "alright Tommy, go show us what you got." She said.
Tommy nodded and led the way to his room.
He followed them, still thinking Tom might have gone insane.
