- Generally, all species are welcome as long as they have a human form. We do ask that you keep some semblance of realism as the Ranch is set within a modern real world setting with supernatural themes. If you'd like to make a sort of supernatural creature that isn't something we've seen (vampires, werewolves, etc are totally fine, anything "mainstream" supernatural doesn't need any checks) then feel free to reach out to discuss, but for the most part you should be good!
- If you wish to play a human character, they must be willing to accept supernatural beings. All Ranch residents are expected to support the supernatural community as the Ranch is a supernatural safe haven. The entire Island is much the same, so please keep the continuity in mind when making a character. For example, don't make a character who blatantly wants to hunt every supe and say they've lived here their entire lives. Very unlikely!
- If you're not sure about a trait you want to have, just ask! We're happy to help.
- No canon characters. It becomes difficult to draw the line at which canon characters should be allowed and which should not.
- No God or Deity characters, as that would involve us all agreeing on an accepted religion (and there's the power).
- Give your character limitations! It doesn't have to be crazy limiting, but keep them from being too OP. If you have a cool power, there should be at least some drawback.
- Villain characters are welcome, so long as they're something that can eventually be defeated, temporarily or permanently, or as long as they're someone who can change. Villains are a lot of fun! But they shouldn't be the constant focus.
