RESB
The RESB, or Regenerative Electric Scout Bike, is a motorized bicycle with an electric motor. The primary power source is hydrogen fuel cells built into the bikes chassis, though its chlorophyte hull tissues provide it a large amount of energy from the sun, as well. These combined with its streamlined form make the RESB capable of travel over extremely long distances, quietly, quickly, and efficiently. If it runs out of fuel, it can be used at low speeds based solely on solar energy. It also has a small port on the back end, which can hold a small amount of rations. The RESB is in widespread usage for troop transportation and quiet scouting. More rarely, a modified, heavily militarized RESB variation is used in combat, with built-in rocket boosters, solar lances, and plasma rocket pods making it something of a lightly-armored shock cavalry, although the weapons have a fairly narrow forward firing arc.
Manta-class Submersible Assault Fighter-bomber
The Manta is the primary fighter-bomber of the Aldyraxian military. Named for its extreme resemblance to a manta ray, the Manta is primarily driven by a magnetohydrodynamic thruster functional both underwater and in the air, while a secondary system of biomechanical muscle tissues provide secondary thrust by flapping the fins in a similar motion to a shark, the latter being more efficient and less detectable although also much slower and not sufficiently powerful to remain aloft in the air. The Manta's main weaponry is a pair of solar lances mounted on the chin, while plasma rockets are mounted along the wings.
The Manta seats a single pilot, although most of its functions are automated and it can be controlled by its computer to a lesser degree. The seat of the Manta stradles the thruster core, with the pilot having a leg on either side of the thruster. Mantas have radar, ladar, and sonar, but typically these are used passively to avoid detection.
Underwater, the Mantas rockets can be used as torpedoes at shorter ranges, while the lance will function at very close ranges. Generally, though, the Manta is optimized for combat in the air, using its submersible capability to escape enemy fire and remain undetected. Its ability to drive itself using only the flapping of its fins and tail, as well as its small profile, renders it nearly undetectable underwater.
Chlorophyte Trooper
The Chlorophyte Trooper was the standard Aldyraxian infantry between 2064 and 2102. Chlorophyte troopers wore the first powered armor suit in the world, a biomechanical, cybernetic armor plating constructed of "Chlorophyte", an Aldyraxian composite material of living, engineered algae cells and biopolymers. The armor was partially powered by sunlight, and partially by hydrogen fuel cells in a back-mounted generator.
The Chlorophyte Troopers used an early version of the Solar Lance and Carbine, colloquially reffered to as the Solar Musket for its relative primitiveness compared to later versions. The Solar Musket is relatively bulky, requiring two hands to use compared to the more sophisticated Solar Carbine, but did manage an acceptable recharge rate and a powerful enough beam to be an effective anti-personnel weapon. The Solar Musket typically had a reflex or telescopic sight, and was relatively boxy in appearance.
As of 2109, Chlorophyte troopers are still in widespread use, especially in border regions and low-priority outposts, while they have begun to be supplanted by the Myrskyjakkari. As recently as 2107, a new variation of the Chlorophyte Trooper armor and Solar Musket was released to the armed forces.
B-1 Recharger Pistol
Commonly reffered to as just the "Recharger", Recharger Pistols are small, handheld laser weapons with an overcharged capacitor. Rather than being used as regular weapons, Recharger Pistols have an extraordinary long recharge cycle and overheat easily, making them unable to be fired more than once without a long wait. However, the single shot from the Recharger Pistol is equivalent in power to the blast of a Solar Lance, capable of blasting apart light armor and destroying infantry. The Recharger is easily produced and designed to be efficient, and is produced en masse to be given to militia and guerillas, as well as being issued as a backup weapon to pilots, its stopping power providing a powerful weapon of last resort. Due to its low expense, the Recharger uses simple iron sights and low-expense materials, being composed primarily of plastic with an energized gas matrix.
Solar Lance
Although usually reffered to as simply the Solar Lance, the Solar Lance actually designates a fairly wide variety of directed laser weapons, including the infantry-portable B-2 Solar Lance, the light vehicle or turret-mounted C-2 Solar Lance Repeater, the more powerful heavy vehicle-mounted E-3 Heavy Solar Lance, the point defense oriented F-6 Solar Point Defender Lance, the H-1 Solar Marksman Lance, the I-2 Solar Beam Lance, and the J-2 Heavy Solar Beam Lance.
Across the spectrum, the Solar Lance is defined as an intermediate laser weapon operating in the U.V. capable of engaging targets ranging from heavy infantry to armored vehicles. The most basic version of it is equivalent roughly to an anti-material rifle, capable of being used as a sniping weapon or for anti-vehicle duty, largely supplanting missile launchers in the Aldyraxian military.
The Solar Lance follows typical Aldyraxian nomenclature: The Solar in the name refers to an astronomical body associated with the range of frequencies it fires in (Hence, the Solar Lance fires in the U.V. spectrum because that is the uppermost frequency associated with the Sun), while the Lance defines it as an intermediate laser weapon, larger than a Carbine or Repeater and with more of an anti-armor focus. However, the Solar Lance Repeater is notable for being a relatively fast-firing long-range vehicle mounted weapon that is slightly weaker than the infantry Solar Lance, intended for being an effective long-range anti infantry weapon, rather than being focused on anti-armor. Solar lances do not have integrated power sources, relying on either the users armor for infantry variations, or onboard generators for larger vehicles.
Solar Repeater
The typical infantry weapon used by Aldyraxian forces, the Solar Repeater covers most small arms laser weapons in use. Similar to the Lance, the "Solar" refers to the U.V. spectrum used by the weapon. The main variants of the Solar Repeater are the A-16 Solar Musket, C-1 Solar Carbine, D-2 Solar Repeater, and the stripped-down E-4 Solar Revolver.
The most common of these is the Solar Carbine, which is a relatively small U.V. weapon, light enough to be wielded one-handed although designed to be used similarily to a conventional rifle. All of the weapons are semi-automatic with a forced delay between shots to prevent overheating, save the Solar Repeater which fires in three-laser bursts. All of these weapons have no internal power source, relying on power from the users armor or back-mounted generator. They utilize reflex sights, collapsible stocks, and usually have two pistol grips (the exception being the Solar Revolver, which is a pistol sized U.V. laser with no stock and a revolving laser matrix allowing it to fire in bursts before needing to recharge.)
Saber-class A-2 Combat Automata Heavy Assault Walker
The Saber-class was introduced in 2106 to replace the aging Falchion-class. The Saber is a six-legged biomechanical Combat Automata, similar in shape to a scorpion, with its body spread out and low to the ground. Its legs extend over its body and include wide shields, so that they can be positioned around the body to protect it from incoming fire. The Saber is the smallest vehicle to make use of a nuclear reactor, which takes up much of its internal room.
The Sabers main two weapons are a tail-mounted Nova Lance, and a Plasmathrower built into the head, while the front legs contain Solar Repeater Lances for anti-infantry usage. Sometimes, the Sabers loadout is adjusted, with Plasma blisters being added onto the walkers back, the plasmathrowers being moved under the legs, and/or a beam lance being added to the walkers front. These variations tend to be more expensive.
The Sabers legs use powerful electromagnetic muscular tissues, and despite its large size, the Saber is incredibly agile, capable of a wide range of motion in any direction, as well as climbing up steep surfaces. The Saber typically engages in close quarters combat when possible, where its high agility allows it to outmaneuver enemy weapons and the immense strength in its legs can be utilized to essentially maul enemy infantry and vehicles into oblivion. The Sabers method of locomotion is relatively quiet and when not firing its weaponry it gives off little energy signature (The reactor being powered down when not consuming large amounts of power), allowing it to remain relatively stealthy.
