These include the major players in the MSG, from the Galaxy Federation--the current government in power for most of the galaxy--to major smuggling rings, to the Peacekeepers, the galactic military, to terrorist groups and major AAA corporations.

Galaxy Federation
The Galaxy Federation is the executive body governing the Mobius Strip Galaxy. Individual planets have their own governments and laws, but only the Galaxy Federation can regulate the value of credits, declare war, or conduct foreign affairs. A planetary council of appointed humans and aliens oversees the Galaxy Federation.
The GalFed governs the majority portion of the known Mobius Strip Galaxy--a large part of the Alpha Quadrant, bleeding over into the Beta Quadrant. The territory is made up of terraformed colony planets and native races who were willing to join the Federation, and the government is constantly on the forefront pushing their domain into the Beta Quadrant, reaching out to make First Contact with fringe planets.
Bordering the GalFed are the Haietlik and Edasichian Territories, two far-reaching races that refused to join the Federation. Relations with the Edasichians are rocky but stable, while outright hostile with the Haietlik. -
Peacekeepers
The Peacekeepers--also called the GalFeds (Galactic Federal Officers)--is a gendarmerie of the GalFed's standing military and police forces. They are present throughout all levels of government, although individual planets within the Federation can choose to have their own internal military and police forces.

Alpha Corporation
Alpha Corp is most well-known for their altruistic efforts in preserving New Arrivals coming through the Delta Wormhole. They take these individuals on their deathbed and scan their brainwaves, creating a SIM to which they build a duplicate-android around. Saving individuals that would otherwise die in Abbadon's sands.
At this point, it's difficult to say just how long they've been around. There are Alpha-Droids that have been active for upwards of a century, but they by no means invented synthetic life in the Mobius--with androids from other defunct companies predating the corporation.
What is known as that the corporation does their work on Abbadon for no profit. There is considerable controversy surrounding the company--their true motives, their plans for the androids. But so far no answer has been found.
Vocal objectors to the corporation include the now-deceased Doctor Weiss, who once held a friendship with the then-CEO, but had a fallingout that saw the doctor turn towards vocal anti-android activism. Another is the Sidewinders, a mysterious group of individuals that patrol Abbadon's sands, trying to save New Arrivals before Alpha Corp gets to them. -
Lux Aeterna
Lux Aeterna––Everlasting Light––had humble beginnings as a social club created to advocate for the welfare of humanity. Thought to have started on Earth 446, the group became a vehicle for resistance to the galactic policies aimed at establishing a peaceful coexistence of humans and aliens. Extending into the furthest reaches of the galaxy, Lux is responsible for terrorist attacks, alien slave trafficking, and android demolition derbies.
Though the Galaxy Federation passed legislation designed to curb Lux terrorism, the organization saw its primary goal––the reestablishment of human supremacy––fulfilled through its members infiltrating government agencies. It is unknown who founded the first branch of Lux Aeterna, and who is calling the shots today.

Gemini Labs
A facility located on Earth 446, notorious for the leading production and experimentation of clones. It is run by esteemed Doctor Thalissa Orin, whom had spent years attempting to perfect the condition of clones.
Gemini Labs has been in the topic of great controversy, having made the news on several occasions regarding their clone quality and ethical treatment, or lackthereof. -
Companion's Guild
A Companion is a legal, licensed prostitute in the Mobius Strip Galaxy. These beautiful creatures are the socialites and celebrities of the Galaxy. To be a Companion means to be highly respected; it is not unlike being a doctor or a lawyer with equally, if not higher earned income.
Aside from administering physical pleasure for high pay, Companions are known for being highly educated. They are expected to attend prestigious schools for years beginning at a young age before registering as a Companion. They acquire social skills, study psychology, performing and dance, various music and instruments, etc., the tools they need for entertaining prospective clients (not unlike a geisha). They are not taught the art of intimacy until adulthood. Once in the business, they are expected to adhere to the Companion Guild's Code.
The difference between a prostitute and a Companion is that the latter is often sought for their beauty and company. It is not uncommon to see a Companion attend a ball or other social event while on the arm of their client. A trained eye could identify one by their glamorous lifestyle, high fashion choices, exquisite manners, and can easily engage in social interactions. Often, a Companion will wear a lotus pin made of ivory and gold, especially in public.
➾ The Companion Code
✧ Companions cannot have relationships outside of business, marry, or have children.
✧ Clients are expected to maintain good behavior and manners, or risk being banned for life. Anything done without consent is not tolerated.
✧ Client and Companion must be 21+ to engage in intimacy (or depending on appropriate age standardized by the MSG.)
✧ The client and Companion must have an agreement and sign a contract prior to entertainment. All intimate engagements are to be kept private, no exceptions.
✧ Companions must adhere to yearly check-ups, and maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle.
✧ Companions must not consent to have markings on their bodies caused by a client (bruises, cuts, etc). One forced on a Companion will result in a ban.

Sanctum of Laverna
A rumour, a bit of gossip passed from one set of lips to the next, describes a seedy satellite, lavishly decorated and full of delights from hedonistic to downright destructive.
Passed almost exclusively by word-of-mouth, Laverna's Den (Sanctum, Salon, Sanctuary, or simply "Laverna's") is a mysterious satellite orbiting an unknown planet in an unknown star system. Well-known amongst the mercenary or 'freelancer' community, it is set up for ease of buying and selling in total anonymity. Covered in tiny ship-ports, those with the 'key' are granted access to docking and selling wares from the comfort of their own ship. Everyone else must dock in the main ship-port and set out on foot to haggle their way to a good bargain.
"Laverna" herself is as mysterious as her domain. Is she an actual person? Some tell of a boss that runs the establishment on ill-got gains, but nobody knows for sure if "Laverna" does, or ever did exist. Perhaps the satellite is simply named after the deity...
Credsticks or alternative currencies only. Anyone with a badge active tends to get a weird sideeye. Not your safest bet.
➾ ./root
./root is the infosphere's backdoor, or 'darkweb', another layer under the regular 'net' that only those that know how, can access, using a layered router protocol. ./root is notoriously difficult to navigate, except for those experienced and knowing exactly what they're looking for. It's used by anyone from illicit merchants to paranoid anti-government enthusiasts looking to hide their tracks. The most popular sub-root is called 'deeppoint'.
➾ ./root/deeppoint
Commonly abbreviated to just 'deeppoint', or even 'dp', this p2p service allows employers to reach prospective employees. It's invite-only, requiring one download the proprietary software suite. But suffice to say, any mercenary, assassin, or 'freelancer' worth their snuff is a member. It consists of a forum and private messaging, a bit like a craigslist for criminals.
Common jobs include runs, robberies, and occasional assassinations.
Its decentralized platform means there is no 'central server' to be hacked, and it cannot be tied directly to anything. Nobody knows who 'runs' deeppoint, but 'Laverna' appears as an inactive user, their tier and user-history corrupted and unreadable. The rumours are obvious.
"O Goddess Laverna!
Give me the art of cheating and deceiving,
Of making men believe that I am just,
Holy, and innocent! extend all darkness
And deep obscurity o'er my misdeeds!" -
IG St. Zinnia Throlkan Society
The Intragalactic Saint Zinnia Throlkan Society for Sentientarian Assistance and Relief Efforts (Abbreviated IZTS, SSARE, or the Zinnia Society/Foundation) is non-profit, non-governmental medical and sentientarian effort that primarily provides aid to impoverished but Aware planets, as well as those affected by war or natural catastrophes.
Under the GalFed, they are allowed to circumvent certain laws of non-interference in order to render aid and technology to those without access to it. They also mediate disputes that threaten to violate any rights to sentient life.
Within the IZTS is the First United Zinnia Contingent, the First Responders ground-unit that dispatches in the event of a planetary disaster.
They're also known to work with the New Horizons Contingent, an Exploration project made up of joint ICS and GalFed Peacekeepers. The NHC pushes the official borders of the GalFed, sending probes and teams out into previously-unexplored space, and dealing with all First Contact situations. -

Saundarya Medical
Funded by ill got gains, Saundarya Medical is the successor to Gadhavi Cybernetics, the private medical practice run by one Doctor Cecille Gadhavi.
The Saundarya itself is a Titan-ClassLuxury WarshipMedical Starship. Currently the largest mobile hospital, the Saundarya is a privately funded company that is not accredited, nor particularly liked, by the official GalFed Medical Board.
One might say that it's what happens when Back-Alley Doctors get funding. Large enough to claim its own sovereignty, the Saundarya--both the 'company' and the ship itself--are not endorsed by the Galaxy Federation, and warrants are officially out to apprehend the massive starship, although no fleet has attempted to challenge it yet.
Despite this, the Saundarya is highly polished, and has strict standards for hiring (although a current medical license is not required). Saundarya Medical has oral agreements with IZTS, Laverna's, the city of New Haven (Tytonidias), and the Companion's Guild. No hardcopy legal agreements exist to protect the integrity of these groups.
The ship boasts a fleet of medical shuttles that it dispatches to render medical aid and extraction from any situation. Payment is another matter.
