The Notorious R.I.G.
The Siderwinder's BoO and a once incredible feat of technology rendered defunct by years of oxidation and decay. Half of the space freighter's body is buried underneath the Abbadon desert; the other half was painstakingly rendered operational and fit for human survival by an original Sidewinder. It runs on a makeshift system of alternative energy sources that is difficult to decipher (and repair) but allows the use of electricity, airlocks, and water electrolysis for the purpose of generating breathable oxygen through its interior. The rig's decked out like broke college student's first apartment with many of the cobbled together fixtures making IKEA seem like expert craftsmanship by comparison. Some undiscovered treasures (and dangers) may very well remain buried within its depths, though those that go looking for the base will be disappointed to find that it's protected by some of the most advanced cloaking technology money has to offer and as a result is undetectable under many kinds of radar. That, and the R.I.G. just so happens to be at the center of an area infested with very hungry sandworms, such as "Mr. Wigglesworth" and "Jim". |
Marvin
The rumored fourth Sidewinder. Marvin is a "Kakapo" from Kapoko, a planet for all intents and purposes overtaken by his species. Discovered as a stowaway on Jethro's speeder after a supply run, the bird quickly wormed his way into the heart of the team. He's similar to his Earthen brethren in most regards.. save a few noteworthy exceptions. Marvin is particularly "smitten" with Percy. |

Boot Hill
The final resting place of those that died on arrival to MSG or that they were unable to save. Makeshift graves litter the landscape where causalities are given much greater dignity in death than becoming another Alpha Corp experiment. |
Some speculative information regarding the Sidewinders is available on the Infosphere, including rumors and the fact of their existence. Anything particularly incriminating or specific (such as the approximate location of their base) is wiped by Percy in interest of maintaining the covertness of their operation. Anyone especially determined to find out more would have greater success via word of mouth.
Plot ideas
▸General mischief/chaos. Let's start some trouble!
▸Bartering. The Sidewinders have a wide skill set: Jeth is a grease monkey, Percy a tech wizard, and Modry a botanist with a wide array of interplanetary flora. Still, they never have enough provisions, parts, weapons, or medical supplies to go around. Information is also valuable.
▸Depending on the date of their Delta wormhole travel, your character could very well be among those rescued by them on Abbadon.
▸Other IC groups/organizations to ally or make enemies with. Their approach to philanthropy is best described as chaotic neutral—they don't mind playing dirty if it gets the job done, but are ultimately aiming to save lives—not take them.
