The Pantheon

  • Gods

    The pantheon of Gods which attend to Ianua is rather large and has room to expand. it is thought that each of the Gods had a hand in creating or shaping the world to be as it is now. Devout walk the earth in many shapes and forms worshiping their chosen deities as Clerics, Monks or Paladins.


    Vaus
    Star Walker
    Labelled the "Star Walker," Vaus is regarded as a powerful entity that wasn't always labeled a God. He is most often referred to as the Creator and Destroyer. Not much can be said of Vaus, as he is beyond mortal comprehension.
    Most common worshiper: The dwarves. They believe Vaus left the world unfinished to be shaped by their hands.

    Krohn
    Father Time
    Krohn has many depictions, but the most commonly used is an older man with a beard and staff. He is one of the shapers of Ianua left by Vaus to care for an further the world he created in his wake. He is responsible for the flow of time and the management of seasons and day and night. His symbols were often clocks, sand timers, sun and moons.
    Most common worshiper: The Lumenenti. These elves worship time as it is kind to them.

    Gaida
    Mother Nature
    Gaida is often depicted as a plump woman covered in nature and her symbol is an expansive tree, enveloping the earth. She is the maker of landscapes and enviroments and causes them to change with the seasons and over time. Gaida and Krohn as regarded as the keepers of the planet and work together in many ways. These two gods were largely regarded as the parents of the moral trinity: Proh, Shae and Nareliss.
    Most common worshiper: Typically the Lignumenti, dryads, varies.

    The All Spirit
    Father of Spirit Animals
    The only animal child of Krohn and Gaida, the All Spirit has no true name. It is depicted as a great wolf with a falcon's wings and a deer's antlers. It's gender is unclear, but the Spirit is said to be the parent of all the spirit guides and god's pets on Ianua.
    Most common worshiper: The People of the Veldt in Antallos worship this divine creature as their god and rely on the Spirit to show them 'the Way,' their meaning and journey in life. It is said that this is why they have an affinity for bonding with animals as the Spirit provides what they need.

    Proh
    The God of Light, Goodness
    This God is depicted as an older man, with greying hair and noble eyes. He is said to be clean shaven in the morning, but have a beard by the end of each day. Proh has been known to travel the world as a mortal beggar, viewing the daily lives of the people and guests on the planet he oversees. His symbols are white animals, namely stags or doves. They are often seen in his wake or by his devout. Some even claim the white stags have led them when lost. Proh collects the souls of all that were good in life to give them rewarding after life.
    Most common worshiper: The Solenti, various humans.

    Shae
    God of Grey, Neutrality
    The female goddess is largely depicted as a plain woman, neither beautiful nor ugly. She has non distinct features and does not inspire love or hate. She is the great listener, as her brother is the helper. Her colors are all grey and her symbols include a hawk as well as wolves. Shae's realm is filled with the souls of those caught between the lines of good and evil. Some will eventually be judged and moved to one of her sibling's realms.
    Most common worshiper: Typically the Cascucenti and the Tenebrisenti.

    The Scrimjow
    This creature is hyena like in nature, but it's head lacks flesh and tissue. The bare bone skull houses deep set flames in the depths of its eye sockets which burn blue when it is near its target. The Scrimjow is tasked with collecting souls to bring back to Shae for judgement into the different realms of death. It is said to be a good omen when the Scrim is glimpsed with orange eyes, a terrible one if its flames are blue.

    Nareliss
    God of Darkness, Evil
    The twin of Proh, Nareliss is an irresistible woman. Her every feature is laid out to entice and mesmerize. Her color is pitch black, a reflection of her heart. Her animals are depicted as all black, usually including hyenas and vultures. Souls of the damned come to Nareliss's realm for eternal damnation.
    Most common worshiper: Evil humans, walkas, ogres, trolls, orcs, the typically dark races.

    Orphee
    God of Chaos and Magic
    This god is thought to be the fourth child of Gaida and Krohn, but he is no longer amongst the stars with the rest of his siblings. Orphee was once the god of chaos and disorder. and because of him, magic ran rampant and uncontrollably through the land. Entropy was a necessary element in the world, but the very idea of controlling chaos felt wrong to Orphee and he left his post, thus allowing magic to be harnessed by the peoples of Ianua. He is widely termed as the Missing God for no one has seen, nor heard from him for eons. Old accounts of Orphee depict him as a young man with palid skin, a thin frame and drawn features. His eyes are usually glowing blue and his hair and dress are messy as if never attended. His symbols used to be crows or ravens.
    Most common worshiper: Magic users, the Ferusenti.

    Kovou
    God of the Hunt and Instinct
    Kovou is a big man; he is brawny and covered in parts by fur that is all his own. He is tall and wide and had big brown eyes the color of dirt. His hair is a wild tangle of reddish brown curls and from them sprouts a rack of moose antlers. This god's face is human like, but his nose is flat and wide like an animal of some sort. He carries a great bow made of tree branches and shoots arrows tipped with stone and never misses. He is widely regarded as the god of hunting and fishing but some pray to him for other sport such as horse racing or trapping. He can also be prayed to for metaphoric hunts.


    He can be found traipsing over Ianua after Proh's pristine, white stag. He does not hunt the beast for sport, nor pleasure, but when he catches the stag it is believed the world will come to an end. It is also said that Kovou will direct the stag to those who are lost and need Proh's light. His symbols are a bow and arrow where the bow is made of a tree: foliage on one end and roots on the other as well as a badger with spines like a dragon.
    Most common worshiper: Hunters of all races, the Lignumenti, varies.

    The Hunting Dogs of Kovou:
    Kovou's three dogs were born from the All Spirit and mortal dogs. They are blessed with extremely long life and advanced senses and skills. Many times the dogs will be sent out to help a follower or child of Kovou.

    Spara: The Tracker, Spara is a tall black dog with pricked ears, a slim muscular build, medium coat and bright yellow eyes. He has a small set of antlers atop his head and a stern, cautious personality. Spara is able to find anything you wish for, if one can gain his trust, but he will not get it for you.

    Jagar: The Hunter, Jagar is a fluffy off-white dog with hazel eyes and a curling tail. He has goat's horns which grow atop his head and curl backwards. This dog is more trusting of mortals, but will stick to whoever he was assigned to protect by order of Kovou and his kin. This dog does the dirty work of the group.

    Radda: The Retriever, Radda is the only female of Kovou's pack. She is medium height with short brown fur, flop ears and blue eyes. She is the friendliest of the three and often the least mindful of Kovou. While her brother with find what your heart desires, Radda will bring you what you need.

    Aeqius
    The Justice
    The Just God is one who is usually silent and observant. He is the one who doles out judgement and punishment to mortals. He acts as a moral sift for souls of the dead as well as a doom to those who walk the earth. Aeqius is just in all things and rewards those deserving as well. This God walks the earth as a knight in colorless armor, with no banners nor sigils.
    Most common worshiper: Knights of all races.

    Nistor
    The Chronicler
    The historian God rarely leaves Ianua as he does not want to miss a thing. Housed in a shabby library that is unmappable, Nistor records all that is happening on Ianua and all that may happen as well. He has few acolytes who attend him and his tomes and while he means to return to his colleges in the heavens, he is afraid to leave something out of his chronicles. He is depicted as a normal looking young man with short cropped hair and a day's worth of stubble upon his chin, dressed in a simple tunic and sandals. His symbol is quite simply a quill.
    Most common worshiper: The Cascusenti

    Felis
    Goddess of Chance
    Goddess of chance, luck, fortune and fate, Felis has three forms: a young and innocent girl, a wise matron or a wily old woman. She travels the roas on a cart made of knick knacks no one wishes to purchase drawn by an old, angry mule. Whoever crosses their path is given the chance to prove their worth to her, though they may not know it. Felis will give those lucky people baubles they may think are insignificant, but are truly a godly gift to change their fates. The gamble is whether said gifts are worth it. Her symbols are dice and coins.
    Most common worshiper: Most will worship this goddess in order to stay on her good side.

    Gidean
    The God of Spoons (and pillows and candles...and anything nicked.)

    This god is dressed like a mummer and only half a man's normal height. Some say he resembles a haulfin, but other say he is just short. The god represents thieves and rogues and entertainers and he is he god of mischief and kleptomania. A strange god indeed, the God of Spoons' followers naturally carry a spoon on their person at all time. The philosophy being that no matter where you are in life so long as you have a spoon to eat, a pillow to sleep and a candle to see, you'll do fine. Followers of the Spoon will leave small shrines to the god on their travels of handmade or stolen spoons; once must never buy them.
    Most common worshiper: The Hauflin

    Veerle
    Goddess of Travels and Battle

    As the patron goddess of traveling, Veerle does not have a race of people who follow her. Any and all races on Ianua pray to Veerle for safe journey on the roads. She is a tall, muscular woman but still feminine in her own way. Her hair is long and straw-berry blond and usually in a series of braids down to her thighs. She wears an assortment of armor ranging from chain to plate to leather and carries a sword at her hips. Those who pray to Veerle will receive the watchful gaze of her eyes or one of her spirit animals. Her symbol is usually an open eye and her animals are the eagle or roc.
    Most common worshiper: Travelers of all races and mercenaries such as the Minotaur.

    Rerrend
    God of Parties and Music
    ...and general debauchery


    This god is regarded as one of the gaudiest gods in the Pantheon. He deals with material wealth, the showing off of said wealth and the continued gain of wealth through music and the arts. He bestows favor on bards and performers of the like, entertainers of all sorts. He relishes in wine and superfluous flowing of coin and has been known to inspire "encouragement" unto his follows with a divine touch of their back side.

    He's depicted as a man of medium height and average build. His hair is long and falls in bountiful, black curls over his shoulders, a pointed goatee gracing his face under glittered ruby colored eyes. He is always dress in finery with either a coin purse or wine goblet in his hand. Extremely devout followers have been known to orgy in his name and some say, should the party turn wild enough, Rerrend will descend from the heavens to bless his followers with his presence. His symbols are a full coin purse and his colors are all things gaudy.
    Most commons worshipers: No set people worship him as a whole, but pirates, bards, circus folk and the like tend toward him.
