Inama was in excruciating pain. She knew that it wasn't her pain, it was Amani's. She wasn't concerned for her since she had figured out that Amani was in labor, but she was furious. How could Amani have gotten pregnant? Who could love such a thing? Since she wasn't actually in labor there was no pain killers that could help her, she just hoped that the stupid baby would be born soon.

When the pain subsided and her fury cooled, she hopped in the shower. She could feel how happy Amani was and it was making her sick. She showered quickly, all the while stewing in this weird feeling she was giving off. She shook it off as best she could, she needed to go back to work.

Months passed and that stupid feeling was still there and it made her want to punch something. She was done with it, it seemed it was time for a reunion. Inama grabbed a small pouch, tossing in a few outfits and stomped her way out the door. It would probably take her a week or two to find wherever Amani was hiding herself.
Amani was bursting with happiness. She was in the kitchen making lunch while Gavin napped. She whispered toward wherever Remy was, "It's ready, come get it!" She knew he would hear her. She carried her plate and a glass of juice to the couch and flopped down to enjoy some quiet time with Remy.
Remy was watching the baby sleep. It was something of a habit he had picked up since Gavin's birth. He was quick to hear when the baby got fussy or to smell when he needed a change so he didn't need to be right on top of him, but there was just something about watching the infant that put him at ease. His ear twitched as Amani 'called out' to him and he watched Gavin's reaction. The baby squirmed in place as if he could hear her to and then settled. Remy wondered if it was his imagination. Gavin inheriting some of his less human traits was a fear of his and as the infant went back to peaceful sleep, he told himself he made it up.

He made his way from the cradle to the couch and sat down with a worried look. He could tell himself it was in his head all he wanted, but that fear was still ever present. He put his arm across the back of the couch so Amani could get close if she wanted and stared off into space.
Amani would smile up at him when he sat down. She went to take a bite of her wrap but noticed he didn't have his plate. With out missing a beat she was up grabbing it and a glass of water. When she came back in she put them on the table and plopped back down in he spot, curling up on him if his arm was still there. "Are you alright?" He looked grumpier than usual. She took a bite of her sandwich watching his face.
Remy was lost in his head until she got up again. "What?" He jerked and looked up to find her leaving to get his plate. "Sorry, I could 'ave gotten that." He had half sit up like he was going to stand and get it anyway, but Amani was too quick. Remy settled back down with the glass in his hand and let her settle in his side. This being domestic thing was still new, but he didn't totally hate it. "Yes," he answered after a moment and a long drink. The glass was put down the the plate lifted without him looking at her. She could probably tell something was on his mind.
Amani look a bite of her sandwich and watched him. She could clearly see something was up with him. "What are you thinking about?" She asked when her mouth wasn't full. She would put her plate on the table and take a sip of juice before putting all her attention on him. Hopefully he wouldn't make her dig around for an answer.
Remy's mouth was full when she asked and he was sure to chew and swallow before talking. "Just the baby." it was still weird to admit there was a baby in the equation now. It had all happened so fast for him after all.
Amani waited for his answer and tilted her head slightly. "What were you thinking about him?" She knew he was getting used to having Gavin around but then again so was she. She thought Remy was doing pretty well with him. She swallowed down the words that were bubbling up because she was trying not to assume it was something bad. She needed to let Remy talk first.
Remy glanced at her, then at his food. The half eaten sandwich was placed down on the plate and he wiped his hands clean. Twisting, he turned to look at her while he spoke. He took a second to organize his thoughts which didn't really matter since he was basically just blurting what he'd been thinking. "What if 'e turns out like me?"
Amani smiled at him and slid her hand on top of his. She paused for a second. She wanted to tease him but now was not the time. "Well then he has someone to explain it to him. I think you are more afraid of what it means for you than what it means for him. He will have people that love him and can keep him safe. I'm sure between you, me, Bade, Dex, Seb and so on he will be just fine." She gave his hand a squeeze. "I'm more afraid of his teen years because if he is like you he will be SO grumpy." She had to tease him just a bit, she couldn't help it.
Remy was not exactly comforted by that pep talk. In fact, he felt his worries were being confirmed, like Amani expected Gavin to be a wolf. He was silent and just started to eat again as his mind worked over the possibilities. Even the jab at his nature didn't get a reaction.
Amani could tell by his silence that he still wasn't happy. "Why would it be so bad?" She still couldn't grasp how he hated that side of himself. She thought it would be exhausting disliking some part of yourself that much. She munched on her sandwich hoping he would answer with more than a shrug.
Remy turned to look at her with a steady gaze. She should know why it would be bad! It wasn't natural! It was dangerous! She wouldn't be safe with two of them in the house, much less with one that was a baby! He didn't think she was safe with just him in the house. Of course none of this came out of his mouth and Amani could likely follow the line of thought without it having to. "It's not safe." He just went back to eating.
