Mephorae was rushing into the Tower, past the guardians and toward the platform for the elevation disc. Of course, since she was running late the disc was all the way at the top of the tower.. somewhere. She stepped onto the platform and looked up to see if she could estimate how long it might take to get back down to her. The Tower was so tall it was hard to make out anything in the top recesses of the floors.. But maybe it was coming back down? She squinted up the shaft and screwed up her face. All of a sudden the flat round disc was much closer than anticipated and Mephorae found herself scrambling to get out of its way. She tripped over her hooves and tumbled off the platform.

She was being stared at by the blue keepers and Tower patrons a like. Her pink cheeks were turning red as she got back up and smoothed her skirt. The disc was hovering just above the ground floor and by the looks of it, the thing was ready to start rising again for some other Tower-goer. Mephorae balked and scrambled to get on it before it left. She managed to, but had to grab her tail from the edge before it was minced by the disc edges against the floors she was passing.

"It's my own fault," she told herself as her body relaxed. The tiefling's shoulder slumped forward and she wiped some sweat from her brow. She was wearing her usual crop top white shirt with the black leather harness which left her midriff exposed. Around her waist she wore several belts and a tribal fashioned skirt; one flap of fabric in the front, two over her hind end to accommodate for her tail. Since she could not wear shoes, she had leather leg wrapping from her mid thigh to her ankle joint, where the fine burgundy fur started. Two golden bangle rested over that fur on her left leg. Otherwise, her hair was loose and her goggles sat atop her head just before her horns. Her face was still screwed up in concern. Lucifer was going to get angry when she finally showed up! He wasn't one to be visible with his anger at her, but more the passive aggressive 'you-know-you-pissed-me-off-but-I'm-going-to-make-you-squirm-instead-of-taking-it-out-on-you' type.

She hated that. The disc was rising slowly and she couldn't help but think it was out of spite. Sighing, she tapped her hoof and stared upward hoping Corwin was actually in his office. Otherwise she was doubly screwed.
Sitting at his desk corwin swirled his glass of wine as reviewed Designs for several new dimensional synchs, When the sound of the platform Going past the upper levels tward his office caught his attention. Knowing that this was going to bring one of a few trusted friends he gestured to the other side of the table and conjured three different chairs (just to be prepared), a plate of cheese and a second glass of wine. Smiling to himself that this time even garret would have no complaints he returned to his designs.
The disc was nearing the ceiling and this was the part she hated the most out of anything. The ceiling always so solid looking that she was afraid she would be crushed to death any time she tried to get to Corwin's office. Cringing, the disc passed the very top floor and she almost crouched to avoid hitting the ceiling.

However, the spell on the ceiling allowed her to pass through it as if it was nothing but air. She relaxed when she found that she was standing in Corwin's office, on solid ground and no longer on the disc. She let out an audible sigh and opened her eyes.

Mephorae was standing with her back to the desk.. She looked over her shoulder and her body twisted after.

"Uhm, Hello."
Seeing who had entered corwin at another gesture dismissed the two largest chairs, reconsidered and changed the remaining one to have an open back in the bottom. "oh...um hello mephorae how have you been. I um wasn't sure who to expect"
"Hi there.." She walked over to the chair and sat down, slipping her tail through the open space. "Thank you." She crossed one leg over the other and smoother her skirt again.

"Sorry to intrude, I uhm, normally don't need you're help like this." She frowned and looked at everything in the room, but Corwin.

"I left my portal key in Hell."
"oh well I can see how that could be a bit of an issue assuming you needed to get back..." as he finished the thought he chuckled uncomfortably. " but of course you need to get back otherwise you wouldn't have said you needed my help, you might have said you'd like it or it would be nice if but not ne.... Sorry I assume haste IS in order?"
"Yes, I need to get back." She was playing with the hen of her skirt, her catlike claws puncturing the fabric by accident. She frowned at what she had done and moved her hands to the sides of the chair.

"I need to get back with a report for my boss, or he'll get angry. I know there isn't really a portal to.. you know.. Hell... In case mortals stumble on it and uh, die. So." She chewed on her lip and finally her orblike eyes rested on his face. "Can you help me find a way to portal?"
After an extremely long pause corwin spoke "well I could atempt to open a temporary portal for you, but if you don't know ware you left your portal key it could make a retun here a bit tricky."
Mephorae's shoulders dropped. He was right. Not having the key really did create a huge problem. She closed her eyes and her face screwed up as she thought.

"It's very possible that I left it in my apartment down there..." She was distracted for a moment as she thought over why exactly she had said down there. Technically Hell was not in an specific direction from this place. She shook herself. "So if I get back, I should be fine."
Thinking to himself that this will go scenario his better judgment.... "alrighI will open a portal for you but hari will destroy it after it is used." Rubbing his temples as he composes in his mind the spell Corwin asks "will this work for you? I can't guarantee ware you will come out without your key."
"What do you mean I won't come out...." She eyed him suspiciously. "I can always take a Hell portal back to here... but I'm screwed unless I find that key." She lifted a hand to run through her hair. "I haven't got a spell cued for lost objects and that's really...." Her fingers hit a tangle as her thought process had. She worked the knotted hair free and a smile split her face.

"Come with me; you can help me find it!"
"Well I guess that will work" he said. And with a gesture opened a portal
Mephorae got to her hooves and smoother her clothes. She eyed the rift before them and stepped up to it.

"Uh, usually, when I make a portal from another plane, it's not always on the right elevation level in the plane I'm going to. Like, since we're way up in the tower, unless this location in Hell is also a high elevation we're going to be in the air." She blinked at him, searching his face to see if he understood what she was saying.

"In other words, can you make sure this is on the ground or are you ready to use a flying spell?"
