The small little town sat just at the bottom of the Santar Mountains, and was well known for its mines. During the day, the city wasn't busy, because most of its patrons were working. But at night, when they were all free to go home or to the tavern, it seemed to liven up. Men enjoyed a good drink after a hard days work.
With the mountain guarding them, the town was blocked off from most of the happenings of the world, and they didn't care much for the war. Maybe that was why they didn't care if a neko or two wandered in.
Riiko pushed her black hair from her face, as she looked at a meat vendor from a distance. Her black cat ears gave a twitch as she licked her lips, wishing she could afford such a delicacy. She gave a sigh though, her violet eyes turning to look for her companion, but he was no where in sight.
She turned, making her way down the main road, doing her best to ignore the tasty scents in the air. It was hard to do though, on an empty stomach.
Her attire was slight different than those around her, having a certain theme that her village kept through the years. She may have considered changing the way she looked, but once again, the lack of funds made it hard to do so.
So she kept the yutaka overdress, red in color, with a white underdress exposed from the slits on the side. A white and red band around her waist while her shoulders were exposed, the underdress winding up to wrap around her neck in a bow. The long flaring sleeves were a favorite among the females, and hers had black ends. Long, thigh high stockings, and black tabis, she supposed she did stand out just a little.
She hadn't even realized just how different her people were from the rest of the world outside.
Often times, she stopped to listen to conversations, or to watch people work in their shops... Many things were different here... and she wanted to learn it all.";

It was not the first time that he had been hurried out of bed and stuffed in a large wardrobe or in a closet and it definitely was not going to be the last time. Sometimes it was even under a bed, or behind the door. If he were feeling particularly lucky, he'd hide in plain sight, but today was one of those days where he was pressed for time. The entire time she was shoving him along, he was kissing along her neck and trying to reason with her that he could take.. Whoever was coming. Totally. He had fought men twice his size! Also laid women twice his size. A strange world that they lived in, really.
He was dressed, which was a rarity if he was visiting someone in their bedroom. So escape really should not have been so hard, rather it just took timing. He reached out to make a grab for his partners rear, but she popped his hand and stuffed it into the closet, before hurrying to meet with her husband or boyfriend.. or fiance. Honestly Llos did not know, nor did he care. Was not his problem, so he would not be worried over it
A sigh was given and he rolled his eyes. "Hmph.." He sunk further back into the closet, hiding behind the clothing that hung there. His hood had been pulled up and his scarves, as well as his mask had been pulled up, and so this was how he would hide, waiting.
Honestly he was not waiting for very long. After a while things got quiet and he slowly pulled himself from the closet, looking around. No one was up here.. So he made his way for the nightstand with the drinks that had been laid out and would down both of them, looking over a book on the table, before he looked up to the door.
By the time it was flung open and the two lovers entered as if nothing was amiss, he had flung himself, with his lute, out of the second story window and was dropping down onto the street. His landing was far from elegant, but he came out on top, as he was unharmed. It paid to be what he was, considering he was quite limber and able to do things that humans could only dream of doing!
He stood and looked around to check if the coast was clear. When all was well, he'd smirk a bit and head for the main road. Luckily the small side street he was on now led directly to it.
He broke from the alleyway and nearly slammed into Riiko, though with fancy footwork he was able to sidestep and back off from her, staring at her with cautious eyes. "Are you from home?" He inquired first in Zaccarian, before he shook his head. This was a question he asked maybe a thousand times to every neko he ran across. Never did he get the answer he was looking for, so he simply dipped his head inward.
"Sorry! Are you okay?" His questioning came in the form of a smooth voice. Perhaps like silk, or maybe not. Words were not fabrics. STOP IT. His eyes examined nearly every part of her. The outfit was particularly taken into account. Such a strange getup.. Yet he was one to talk. Though her's revealed much more than his own. Such was not to be complained about. No, certainly not. "You are from the east?" Her outfit said as much, but.. he couldn't be so sure. She could just be dressed to impress, and she certainly did.. in some way.

Having been watching a blacksmith under his shop, Riiko almost hadn't noticed Llos at all. Not the fact that he had almost run into her, or the fact that he had so nimbly danced around her so oddly. It wasn't until he spoke in a strange language, that she turned her attention to him. "Eh?" was her reply, but then he seemed to speak normally after that and she gave a small nod of her head, not sure what he had meant.
She looked herself over, making sure she hadn't -- in some way -- hurt herself without noticing.
When he asked if she was from the East, she looked at him warily. Why was he asking? Perhaps, just plan curiosity... but she was feeling a little paranoid that maybe one of her own had followed her this far. She fidgeted a bit, before giving a nod of her head.
Violet eyes turned behind the man, vision just past his shoulder as she watched a black cat slinking up to the meat vendor, while the owner had his back turned, and he swiped a good sized piece of a dried meat.
Riiko's face lit up, and she quickly turned running down the side road, completely leaving the man behind, without any explanations. Such terrible manners.
She stopped where the road met another and looked down to the right, seeing the black cat there, looking for her as well. "Jinx!" she said, waving her hand at him, and running to him with such eager speed.
The cat let out a muffled meow, and Riiko tore off a piece of the meat for herself. "See, it's so much easier whenever you are the one to take it. You are smaller, so it is harder to see you. We'll get kicked out of less towns like this."
Her tail wiggled happily behind her, as she ripped off a piece of the meat.

It was pretty easy to understand why she may be uneasy. Suddenly, out of nowhere. A fellow Neko approaches, though not just any Neko, one that hides his entire appearance, save for a small portion of his face, so that his eyes can be seen, from view.
It was incredibly easy for that to be intimidating. He tilted his head slightly and watched her carefully. "I knew I had it right." His smile went unseen, but perhaps be beamed it another way. "They have su-." He trailed off when her attention wandered, then she took off, leaving him there. If he had not been himself, then perhaps this would have offended him in some way. Others tended to let things get to them. Things that did not need to in the first place.
He watched as the cat brought food to her, and his smile turned into a sly smirk as his ears twitched from beneath the coverings of his hood and shifted more towards her direction. Instantly he knew what to do, and would turn down the road opposite, heading for the food vendor. She was hungry. Probably also thirsty, so he would assist. It would be nice to have a nice little talk anyway, especially after having his entire nights plans ruined by that guy coming home early. THE NERVE.
After a few moments, or perhaps by the time she had finished with the meager amount of food that she and her companion were sharing, Llos would return with a small sack full of things. Mainly the dried meats. A jug was tied to his waist as well as two wooden cups and a bowl, that was somehow stuck in the same spot. Tricky illusionary work, or perhaps a well thought out plan from the beginning!
"Are you still hungry?" As he approached them, he pulled down the facemask and scarves, allowing his face to be seen. "I have plenty to spare for a friend." His lute was adjusted for him to sit, but he would not yet do so.

Riiko munched rather happily... too happily, on the meats that had been given to her by her small companion. It wasn't much, but she didn't seem to mind that. As long as she had something for the day. When she had left her home, she really hadn't been prepared at all. Apparently, people needed some form of payment in order for them to give you their things. Her people had just always provided.
That was just a small thing for her. At least she had her freedom out here, right? At least she didn't have to fight if she didn't want to...
"So, where should we head to ne--" she started, but stopped, standing up quickly when she heard the man behind her. She tensed at the sight of him, barely comprehending his words as he spoke. She was more concerned by the fact that he had followed her.
Jinx, however, gave a loud meow when food was mentioned, and began circling the man's feet. Riiko was actually surprised. The cat usually hated being around other people, so it was odd for him to be so welcoming to someone. Of course... a cat was friendly to anyone if they were hungry enough.
So, she supposed she would be friendly as well, giving the man a nod of her head.

Llos watched her carefully when she tensed up. That was never good, but he didn't say or do anything about that. When the cat begun circling his legs, he looked down, and examined him for a moment, before he caught her nodding.
"Wonderful, because I am starving!" He said, moving to plop down next to her. The jug would be undone as would the bowl and cups for them. "Its milk." He tapped at the jug. Figures he'd get milk, but it went nice with the meats and fruit that he had obtained. "Would that be ok?" He questioned, but figured it would be. He enjoyed it and he was sure she would as well.
"This place is tiring!" He exclaimed with a wide smile. "Also very boring. So why are you here?" His questions came off as very impersonal, before he snapped into 'manners'. "Oh! I am sorry. My name is De'Sole." He nodded a bit. "It's a pleasure to meet you." He slid the cloth sack to her and opened it up so she could collect food from it. "I'm a bard of all trades." He was correct in saying this. He played, sung, dance.. He also performed other things, like small tricks and card games, but those were not as common. He also was a jack of all trades in less than nice forms of business, but that was a story for another time. "Wouldn't you agree?" He stuck his hand out for the girl, but also for the cat.

He instantly went into conversation. She was surprised by this, but that wasn't to say she wasn't welcoming of it. Usually, people tended to not give her any words... or very little of them if they could avoid it. But she would nod her head when he asked if milk was okay.
"My name is Riiko," she said, when he gave his name and profession, and everything else he may have said. "I'm here... just traveling between towns. I'm not here for any special reason." It was the truth, for the most part.
And she was looking at his hand now. First, she looked at the back side of it, by tilting her head one way. Then she tilted her head the other way to take a glimpse at his palm. Why was he holding it out like that? Did he have something to give her? She didn't see anything though. So she just glanced back up at him.
"Agree on what?" she asked curiously. He had said so much, so she wasn't sure what he was referring to.

Llos smiled, watching her as she explained things.. and stared at him in confusion. Boy he was going to have fun. "That is understandable. Traveling on it's own is quite interesting and rewarding." He lowered his hand with a sigh.
"Agree that it is nice to meet one another. I was wanting to shake your hand. My apologies." He said and went back to eating. Using said hand to lift the jug and fill their cups and bowl, sliding that out for the cat. He claimed his cup and took a deep sip from it. "We share a similar trait." He said suddenly. "Aimlessly traveling and all. Do you have any trades?"

She watched him, still confused. His hand was withdrawn, and he said he had wanted to shake hers. What a strange greeting... "Oh, yes... Nice to meet you," she said, hoping that she hadn't been too terribly rude by not giving a good greeting to him.
Though, she was more than willing to share his food. She took a sip of the milk and then began eating what he had given her. "Similar traits? Oh! Yes, I travel, but I don't really have any trades. I am trying to learn... magic." She didn't know if it was common around here or not, because it hadn't ever really been in her tribe. But she had always been fascinated with the subject.
"What is a bard?" She looked at him again, curiously, tilting her head to the side as she took another bite of food.

Llos thought about it. Magic? That was always a touchy subject in some places, but he was one who rather enjoyed it. He lacked the aptitude for it. He was never able to learn it, though he certainly tried. It would be helpful, though that was beyond his level of comprehension apparently. OR maybe he was just never meant to learn it. Either way he knew of it.
"Magic is good. Not many seem to teach it or even show that they know it." He smiled. "Any luck?" His question came short, and the answer to her's came afterwards. "I play an instrument, dance a bit and sing." He motioned for the neck of the lute sticking up from behind him. "Have you never seen someone do these things?"

She answered his first question with a shake of her head. No, no luck it seemed. There weren't many people that knew magic in this area, and those that did weren't willing to take on apprentices. But when he pointed to his lute, she leaned forward a bit, interested in what it was. Her tail swished a bit behind her.
"No. My people didn't really allow things like this... if we wanted entertainment... we were usually told to fight one another for practice." She had the strongest urge to reach out and pluck one of its strings, but she had learned quickly that people out here didn't like you touching their things. So she shrunk back, still watching him with interest.
"Play it!" she said, maybe a bit too demanding. But, all in all she was just excited.

He nodded a bit. That didn't really sound too crazy. He had met some people with similar lifestyles. "Really now? That's interesting." He smiled. "Do you much fight?" He questioned with the intent to continue questioning her, but then she commanded that he play it.
The bard laughed and tipped back some, reaching back to pull the lute around. "Of course, of course!" He thought on what he should play and then it came natural. The sound resonated from the instrument and echoed around them, as if it was an invitation of some sort. "Do you dance? Or sing?" He could use a dancer. The music seemed mix or strange in where it came from, but the tune came from heart.

Riiko listened as he started playing. Her mouth was slightly open as the melody continued on. She had heard maybe a form of music, but it wasn't really anything close to this. This was actually upbeat and fun. She liked it!
She had purposefully not answered his question about if she was any good at fighting. The answer had been no, because she didn't like it.
But she did answer his question on if she could dance or sing. She shook her head. "I've never really tried." She did have an idea of what he was talking about though. She had seen people doing such things on occassion after she left her people.

He continued playing, smiling. "Well then. Would you like to one day learn? How about singing? Would you care to learn these things?" The thought was nice.. "It can make some money if you do it right." He nodded a bit. Yes.. It could in fact make a good bit of cash if it was done correctly and to the right music.
"Hm.. How would you feel about traveling with me?" He sprung the question randomly. "I could use a companion for the road, and perhaps I can teach you a few things.. and you could learn magic along the way, or at least try to. What do you say to that? Would be easier than you struggling, I'd imagine." His smile was like icing on the cake. He was sealing a deal, or trying!

She leaned back, a very unsure expression on her face as she pondered his question. Should she really be traveling with someone who she just met? Jinx gave a loud meow beside her, quite liking the idea of having food and drink constant, rather than having to try and take it.
"Money is good," Riiko said, more to herself than anything. "I don't know how well I will learn though. It might be fun though!" She seemed to be growing steadily more excited.
"Alright, Mister De -- Uh, I forgot your name," she said, laughing. Partially this, but is was also a type of name she wasn't used to saying. Her people usually had a specific way of saying their names.

He laughed a bit. "Wonderful!" He nodded his head and sat up straight, stopping the playing for now. "In time, I am sure you will learn bits of it. If nothing else it is an experience." He needed a cute travel companion. That was a plus to any adventure.. "You can call me Llos."
"Where are you heading? Any particular direction?" He had no direction.. He just went where ever and did whatever he wanted.. Like sleep with married women or drink~ These were important things.
"Who is your little friend?" He questioned, looking to Jinx. He wondered. "Are you as I am?" He spoke in Zaccarian for a moment, staring at the cat intently, before he simply smiled and looked back up to her.

"Llos," Riiko reiterated, and she smiled brightly, giving a nod of her head. "I'm not really heading anywhere in particular. Just any place that I might learn magic." Also, she knew absolutely nothing of the places around the region. All she really knew was her people, and her village. Small and secluded from the world.
"Oh, this is Jinx," she said, looking down to her companion, and giving him a scratch behind his ears. When Llos spoke Zaccarian to the feline, he merely stared back, rather intently, as if trying to tell the man something.
But, if anything, Riiko was the one to speak. "Did you speak another language?" she asked, leaning toward Llos again. It wasn't something she knew, and she wondered what he had said.

"Yes, I did. It's my native tongue. It's a bad habit to question people I meet in my native tongue.. I'll try and mind it." HE did not want to explain WHY he was doing such a thing, but perhaps one of them already knew..
"Well if you have no where in particular to go, then we can go wherever!" He smiled brightly. "I'm sure something will direct us." He gave a small nod to this, as if he was so sure, before he went back to eating. Sliding his lute back behind him.

She knew he said he traveled, but that didn't mean he might be from this area. She had so many questions that she wanted to ask, but in that numerous amount, she didn't know what to ask first.
But, she found herself eating again, and that made it nearly impossible to ask anything else. So after swallowing, she decided to keep on the current subject.
"I came from not far from here, but my people like to stay secluded. So I haven't seen much at all of anything outside my people." She actually seemed happy to say that. And she was, because she was basically telling him that she was ready for whatever the world had to throw her way.

Llos shook his head a little. "Sadly, no. I am from somewhere strange." He didn't go into detail. "Distant lands and whatnot. Haven't been able to find much of my people to regroup and such.
"Sounds very.. Familiar, honestly." Llos couldn't relate, really. At least not currently. Perhaps long ago he could, but as of now it was different~ He had been a part of so many 'families' that he couldn't place a number on them. "You are in for quite a bit then, my newly found friend." He smirked. "The world is a very vast place. There is much to see and do!"
