The small town was fairly busy, but maybe it was because of the morning hours. Everyone was trying to sell their goods before midday, so they could spend time with their families.

Stories and rumors were already starting to circulate, about a group of thieves, or a single thief, or a group of murderous men wondering about, and that any suspicious people be reported to authorities as soon as possible. 'Burk' was the common name going around.

"Fresh bread! Hurry and get your fresh... Rosa! What are you doing out and about! I thought you were sick!" The baker was glancing at a blonde haired, older woman who was slowly making her way toward him. He grinned and shook his head.

"Now now, don't even think about paying for this. Not after you helped me with Ruth." He held out a loaf of bread, and the woman took it thankfully, giving a warm smiling, before she slowly turned, and made her way back where she came from.

The baker shook his head, still grinning. "You start to feel better!" he shouted, before he continued to try and sell his goods.

Rounding the corner, the blonde hair almost instantly changed to a fuschia color, falling down longer, past the mid back, and the older wrinkles smoothed from the face, while the posture straightened. The woman looked nothing as she did before, and the young woman reached up, climbing into a tree and sitting on the high branches to look down at the people, a wide smile on her face as she munched on her bread.";

He was exhausted, but driven.. He could not stop anywhere, no.. He had to hide and take back routes and do things that he normally wouldn't do, then again, sometimes he got a break and was able to go about his business like a normal human being. Small villages were usually the sort of place this happened in.

The trek up the hill was tiring, but worth it once he got to the top. As of now things were word of mouth, about Burk and the murders, murderers and thieves. Posters had not been placed around, it was too soon, but eventually that would happen and it would make things a ton harder than they already were.

He remained up on the hill, looking into the village and past the tree that Novo was on, attempting to size up the guards and the like..

It was no use from this far away, so he'd have to get closer, though that would have to wait. He needed a break.

His eyes searched the ground in front of him, looking to the cloth and wood shoes on his feet, and then to the dirtied trousers. It looked like he had stomped through a graveyard or something. Everything was so muddy, but he couldnt complain. At least he wasn't in iron's at this time.

How lucky of him that one of the wheel's broke and he was able to escape into the forest. His wrists were looked to with a frown. Scrapes and cuts from him working and working until his hands were free from the shackles. These things would heal over time, but they stood out. He attempted to pull the sleeve further down, before he progressed closer to the village, sneaking around the side of a few buildings until he reached where the tree was, placing his hand to it as he guided himself around it.

Eventually he'd stop before the tree, well in sight of Novo, with his back pressed against the wall and giving a small glance around the corner. He wanted to make sure no guards were about in the area, before he tried to steal a few things.

That is what you did when you had no money. You resorted to stealing things. He never could figure out why his family, the ones who had all the money, would resort to stealing, but that didn't matter anymore. His parents were gone and nothing of the family mattered now.
Gingerly enjoying a mouthful of warm bread, Novo didn't see the young man right away. Both hands were gently placed on each side of the loaf as she took another bite, her legs swinging beneath her as she sat on the limb.

When the young man was standing right in front of her tree, she stopped mid bite and gave a very quiet, curious sound. "Oh," she said quietly, before she tucked her loaf of bread up onto a limb above her. She then swung down silently, hooking her legs over the bottom branch as she looked at the male upside down, her head tilting back and forth curiously.

Her hair nearly touched the ground, and her mouth was slightly agape as she memorized his details. It was hard without him facing her, but she could guess at least.
He didn't see much.. Just a few town guards making their rounds. He didn't look too suspicious, which was good, maybe he could make his own rounds.

He held his breath for a moment and turned back around to face the tree.. He kept holding his breath as he saw the bits of hair.. The color confused him so much.. As he stared at it, he slowly looked up, seeing what it was connected to. His mouth gaped back at her and he finally let the breath he had been holding in, out, in one bellowed gasping sigh.

Oh god, what was that!? You did not see people with strange hair and think good things, no.. No that was bad. His strange eyes darted around, then he turned and made a break for it. Oh nooooo, just run away from it. Run as fast as you can, and that is what he did, charging from his cover, tripping as he made his way into the view of everyone. So much for being un-noticed, but that didn't matter.. He had to run away from the strange hair. Did he see pointed ears too!?? Those were things of story.. Fae-kin and such. He did not want to be stolen away for the forest.

He was back up to his feet, running again and soon plowed right into a guard, but in his panic, he didn't even stop.

Julius hit the ground and rolled, scrambling to his feet as he continued running, darting between another set of buildings.. At this rate he was bound to run into someone else, but as long as it wasn't the fae it didn't matter!
"Ah!" Novo said, as the man turned to her, and she smiled widely. But then she frowned when he looked frightened, and she watched him run for the town. "Ah, oh..." was the sound she made, before she attempted to swing back up into the tree. But it was a failed attempt and she came crashing onto the ground.

She sat there on the ground, rubbing her head, tears almost in her eyes as she let out a pained whimper.

Then she remembered the male, and his strange colored eyes. She liked them! She wondered if she could find him again.

Quickly standing, she trotted toward the town, picking up a small cloak she had dropped from earlier and swinging it around herself as she slowly started to change forms.

A doppelganger to Julius strode through the town, looking quite excited, mismatched eyes searching for the original. Novo hummed lightly, a near skip in her step as she walked along.
Guards were already rallying up, assisting the one that had been knocked to the ground.

He was enraged and so it began.. The hunt for the man with the 'different' eyes. That was suspicious alone! Something that was not seen often, and when it was, it was regarded with caution. They could be possessed!

Julius was Possessed! Possessed with the strong desire to continue running. He turned a corner.. and then another and another, before he slid to a stop, colliding with a wall to avoid running into someone in a cloak.

"Hey watch i-uh..." He pushed up from the wall slowly and stared at the person with shock... I.. It was him.

That couldn't be right. He was himself.. So then who was this?? He looked to the ground for a moment, trying to wrap his head around this.. There was not much he remembered of his home.. Perhaps he intentionally forgot much of it, because it was depressing. Did he have a twin... Julius looked back up to him.. or well himself and frowned a bit.
Novo gave an 'oof' when someone ran into her, and it took her a moment to right herself. But her eyes lit up whenever she saw the man she was looking for. The one with the strange eyes.

"Ah!" she said happily, her voice still the female sounding one, making it a little odd coming from the form she was currently in. She extended her hand toward him, wanting to make a greeting, not feeling that he was finding this odd at all.
Julius looked so confused, tilting his head a bit while his mouth hung open. "Ah...??" both hands were sort of, stuck up a bit then dropped back to his side, as if he were trying to make sense of what was going on.. And he was, but that wasn't important.

He slowly lifted one hand once more and directed it for himself. He didn't know what to do and he was afraid to get too close to himself.. He couldn't remember a brother, but he did remember someone.. He was very young then and a lot had happened since that time.

"He ran this way!" came a voice. Probably from a guard, and more followed as well as mixed sounds often associated with guards and the like came from the way that Julius had came from.

He backed up and turned, looking at the items around him. A barrel.. a troth.. a small stack of.. he didn't know what that was.. The barrel was approached and he attempted to get his fingers into the cracks of the barrel, so that he could lift the lid. Once he managed to get it open he scrambled into it and pulled the lid down ontop of himself, peering from the cracks as three guards came from behind. "Show your face!" the called to Novo.
Novo looked at Julius as he got into the barrel. That looked like a lot of fun! She wanted to try it as well. But she found herself being yelled at, and she quickly turned to face the guards.

"Hmm?" she said, feeling a bit confused. There was a surprised sound, as she realized that the guards were looking quite angry at her. Perhaps they had figured out that she had been tricking the townspeople for food.

She swallowed hard, and quickly turned to run.
Julius quickly lost sight, even though he shifted in the barrel to another slot.. The other him.. or his brother?? Something like that, had left and the three guards had given chase.

"Stop!" They did not actually know if this person was who they were looking for, the wanted one, because the description was random.. But this person ran into one of the guards and that was reason enough to take them in shackles.. At least until they figured things out.

Guilt washed over, Julius. This other person was going to be arrested, mostly because of him.

Once the coast was clear, he pulled the lid up, but not after a struggle with it. It almost seemed like he'd be trapped there, but when it gave and the barrel fell over with him, he scrambled out of it, frowning. Oh well..

He got up and dusted himself off before he took off again, going back ways. Hopefully he can run into himself.. er.. if he has enough sense to duck into an alley.

The guards were slightly slower, falling behind, but were still in pursuit.
Novo ran with such quick speed. She wanted to change forms, but she knew that if she did, the men chasing her would be very angry at her. People did not like her jokes, even though she thought they were a lot of fun.

She quickly turned, following behind a building, until she came up to another alley way. Maybe if she could be out of sight long enough, she could change forms and get away. Yes, that seemed smart.

Quickly turning, Novo made her way down the alley, waiting for a perfect time to change.
Julius followed the direction of the sounds of panic. It wasn't that hard, what with the guards yelling..

Eventually he slid to a stop and pressed himself against a wall, listening carefully. Lightfooted running.. Sounded about right, like someone running from the law.

He leaned from the edge of the building and snatched Novo by the wrist. "Come on!" He said, rather loudly, but would run with the other him.. He had to figure this out and it was going to take a bit of time, or at least he thought so.

Julius didn't know where he was going, but he just knew that he had to keep going. The shoes on his feet were about useless, as they did nothing to offer traction on the mud, so he eventually fell again, as was being very common, but it couldn't have been at a worse time.

The guards came from two different areas. Two from the side and one from the back. "Oi! There's two of them." One yelled. "Don't move!" Another yelled as he drew his sword.

The one from behind didn't speak, rather while attention was on the first two, he was approaching from behind, his hand clamping down, or attempting to do so, onto Novo, while Julius attempted to get to his feet. He didn't know what to do now.. Maybe fortune would shine down on him again and an escape could be had..
Novo had been about to shift when someone grabbed her wrist. A moment of panic struck her, but she realized the man she was mimicking was trying to lead her away. She gave a smile, feeling this was starting to turn into a game again.

She ran along, nearly giggling, until Julius fell. She slid to a stop, and watched him for a moment, then attempted to help him up. She glanced up at the guards surrounding them, trying to urge Julius to get up quicker.

Feeling a hand on her shoulder gave Novo a start, as she tried to pull away. "N-no!" she said.
"Alright, alright.. You both are coming with us." He said, another guard cursing under his breath.. Obviously the one who Julius had ran into.

Julius was confused by the female sounding voice, but didn't say anything, rather once he got to his feet, he held his arms out. "You got us.. We'll go with you." He glanced to Novo, staring for a moment, before he looked back to them.

There were no shackles. One guard grabbed him by the back of his clothing and begun pulling him along, and the same was done with Novo. The other guard trailed behind them. "You'll spend a night or two locked up. Maybe you'll think about what you did then."

Julius nodded a bit. "Oh, I'm sure. Sir.." He looked down, closing the space a little and his hand trailed just barely against the man's side.

His pocket and vest only hid a few things.. Nothing important that could be used, therefore Julius did not steal anything.. This man was not the one in control of a dungeon key..

He glanced back to his doppelganger and frowned. He hoped they would not do anything yet.

The trip to the jail that they would be spending a few nights in wasn't very far away. It was small, fit the town. Only three cells were opened, a fourth had been used as storage of sorts, but each cell had two spots of straw and hay where one would sit, as well as a table. Shackles hung from the walls, but were closed and set up on a higher shelf.

They would share this space..
Novo struggled as they led them off, continuing to cry out "No" as they walked down the road. As they were pushed into the jail, she squirmed even more, not wanting to be locked up. But it was no use, as they shoved them in and closed the door behind them.

Novo ran up to the bars, pulling on them frantically, hoping they would budge. But even she knew better, and after a moment, she plopped down on the ground, pulling the hood of her cloak over herself, and began to sob.
It was becoming increasingly strange that a male had a female voice.. But maybe he had a twin sister and he didn't know about it.. Though she looked like a man : (.. Just saying.

Julius waited for the guard to walk away, before he knelt down and looked over the other him.." Hey.. Hey, stop crying. I have an idea." They would have to be here for a bit before it worked.. He patted it's shoulder and tried to smile some.

"Get away from the bars.. Lets go to the table." He motioned for it and got to his feet, properly and made for the table, which held a jug and two pewter cups. The jug was supposed to have water in it, but it hardly had any.. They could wait on that. "First off.. Who are you..?" He didn't even think of the fae from before.. He didn't want to think of the fae from before, because they scared him, as they were something he totally did not understand. Julius attempted to keep his voice down low for this. He was going to pickpocket one of the guards who did their rounds. They were bound to have a key, and if so, then they could get out of here..
Novo glanced at him from under his hood, wiping her eyes as she crawled over to sit at the table. He said not to cry, so she wouldn't, though she was still scared. When he asked her who she was, she seemed to perk up just a tiny bit. She always liked it when she confused someone with her shifting.

Pulling her hood down again, she smiled at Julius, her fuschia hair and female features back again. She smiled at him, closing her eyes and giving a little laugh.
Julius did not realize how much he was frowning, but it was pretty intense once the fuchsia hair was seen, and his own face melted away to show a more female one.. He wasn't mad though, but he was trapped here with her..

"O.. Oh.." That her emotions changed so fast, from being scared and upset, to laughing, really didn't surprise him. "W.. How did you??" He slowly took his seat, looking over her for a moment.. He didn't know what to say about this, but the fact that she looked so strange was not good.. The guards would notice this.
She titled her head at him, as she seemed confused, but this only amused her more. Raising her finger, she pointed to her eyes, and showed him her one blue and one bright green eye color. It was apparent that she liked this feature about him, and wanted to continue to copy it, adding it to her usual form.

She crossed her legs and leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table as she watched him curiously.

"I -- change," she said slowly, making sure she spoke the words correctly so he could understand them, though it could only be guessed if he understood what she meant by saying them.
