There was little out of the ordinary this time of day... The bird sang on the trees, wind gently weaving through the branches they were on. The vegetation on the ground wasn't thick, but it didn't look like it was traveled much either.
Heavy paws were heard, padding through the woods, stopping every now and again as the great white beast searched around for something. The dire wolf's ears turned at ever sound, but when she didn't pick up on anything that seemed out of the norm, she continued on.
Shifting between the trees, she finally stopped, her tongue lolling for just a moment, before she went silent. Lowering herself to the ground, she pressed on, moving almost silently now through the undergrowth.
Her golden eyes stopped upon the sight of a half elf, making his way through the woods, looking around as if he had lost something. He'd glance about every now and again, but didn't make a move to stop. He did glance toward the area the dire wolf was for a long while, but then shook his head, moving on.
Giving a low growl, the wolf moved out behind him, following as quietly as possible. Her eyes lowered as she grew closer to him. And a moment later, he turned, feeling her presence behind him.
With great force, she leapt at him knocking him back onto the ground. Letting out a fearsome growl, her tongue met his face and she gave him loving kisses.
"No, no!" the elf yelled, trying to push the wolf off. He gave a laugh, before the wolf finally obliged and hopped to the side of him. "You need to stop disappearing like that, Khione..." he said, giving the wolf's ears a good rub, before he pushed himself up, dusting his pants off.
Khione hopped around a bit, before she started walking with him, no place in mind for them to go.";

Faintly deep in the trees a soft sound would began floating through the area, a slow beautiful strumming that invited any listener to seek out it’s source. It was a peaceful little song, as faint as it was, though it was light and beautiful, like the sounds of the heaven.
The song that played would seemed to get a little louder, until it was clear a harp was being played deep in the forest, the song keeping it’s slow strumming beauty, as it curled through the air, as inviting as ever.
A few of the birds would begin to follow it they’d spring off the trees and fly through the air toward the song more precious than they could ever sing, it called to them as well. A few of the squirrels would climb down, one climbing and leaping along the trees beside Exarion, all of them going to seek out the music that was floating through the air.
A voice as sweet as honey soon joined he notes. “Laaa da da da laaa” it waved through the trees.

“Long ago, before time came and gave the world a name. The hare, the bird, the ox, the sow, all played it all a game. They sang a swooped and rolled and hopped, through the fallen snow. The mountains roared the streams they cried, the wind blew too and fro. The hare said “there what is that there?” the sow did not reply. The bird sang “She who made us all.” The ox did not deny. They came to she, and danced with glee from night until the dawn, She played them all a happy song, until the dance was done.”
Exarion stopped in his steps, as well as Khione, each looking on in the direction the creatures had sprinted off to. Swallowing a bit, the half elf stared on; part of him wanting to continue, while the other part wanted him to turn around. But Khione seemed to have made up her mind, taking quick steps to find the source of the song and sound, and Exarion cursed lightly under his breath.
Trailing behind her a ways, the elf did his best to keep up, while remaining quiet. Such a sound was so glorious, that surely the creator of it meant no harm to anyone, but he would still rather be safe than sorry.
Catching his breath, he stopped when Khione did, as she stood at the tree line, looking toward the person with the heavenly instrument.
Exarion too, would step forward, just enough to see this person as well.

She looked youthful and pretty. Her skin, white as new snow, and her hair a bright red, it trailed down her shoulder’s, with flowers tied into it here and there. Her ears were slightly pointed but much the same size as a human’s.
She was dressed in a long flowy dress made of a light fabric, it was violet in color and her harp a shimmering gold that glinted in the sun as she played it.
The animals had gathered around her, like in some children’s story, a bird flew and landed on her head as she played the tune on, a white rabbit was resting in her lap. Her fingers were lightly playing the tune as it neared it’s end, and then… that was when she noticed the half elf and his wolf.
The harp would lower, and she would give a soft smile. “Oh I hope I wasn’t disturbing you… I didn’t know anyone was out here.” Her voice was airy, and a little dreamy like she might be ready for a nap in the flowers. “The forest is always a good place to play a song though.. that much is true.”

In all honesty, the scene before him felt like it was something the Elder used to tell him as a child. Not once had he seen animals react in such a way, and it almost confused him. But then she spoke to him, and he froze where he was.
Surprised she wasn't upset with him for watching her so weirdly, and he cleared his throat.
"No... not at all. I was -- just passing through and noticed the music, and... the animals..." He motioned to the said animals around her. Who wouldn't be curious to all of that?

"Oh good" she said, glad she hadn't disturbed him. She pushed herself off the rock and put placed her harp down, while she cradled the rabbit, running a hand as white as it was over it's fur.
"Oh animals are always prepared for a little song and dance, don't let them tell you any different." she walked a little slow and dreamy as well, her hair and clothing blowing about from a breeze that wasn't there. "Though this one." she raised up the rabbit. "He always complains abut my songs, he's not a music lover but he sticks around all the same." the rabbit simply twitched it's nose. As she gave a shocked laugh "You are so rude!" she said to it, her eyes looking back to the half elf. "Pardon him, he has no manners." She looked the half elf over with her emerald eyes. "What do they call you, little one?" she asked curiously.

Well, Exarion might have thought she was crazy. He rubbed the back of his head, as he tried not to think just that, but it was pretty hard. He, himself, was a ranger, but wasn't able to tell the rabbit was saying anything rude. Perhaps she was... messing with him. "Right, it's okay. I'm used to rude things being said." He gave a slightly nervous laugh.
Though, he didn't like being called 'little one'. It made him feel like a child. And he was NOT a child.
Resisting the urge to frown a bit, he nodded his head, saying, "Exarion..." Khione gave a playful yip, and Exarion sighed. "And this is Khione."

"Oh no!" she said "Why would people be so rude to you all the time that you're used to it?" she couldn't understand.
Rather Letala could truly understand the rabbit, or if she was just crazy, that was a different story, she was loopy that much was true. She'd meant no offense with calling him little one... she even called the elderly little ones when she met them.
She smiled at his name "Ohh such a wonderful name.." she hummed a bit, as her eyes found the wolf, she smiled warmly. "And it is a pleasure to meet you as well Khione." she giggled like a young girl. She realized she should tell the her name. "I am Letala... but you may call you what you wish.. everyone does."

Khione sat down, lolling her tongue out happily at the female. Exarion eyed her, and thought that if the dire wolf accepted the female so easily, then she must be okay.
"I'll... uh, just call you Letala, then," he spoke, not sure what else he would call her. 'Crazy lady' maybe. He purposefully avoided answering her question about people being rude to him. That was something he didn't really want to bring up.
After a moment, he take a step back, giving a small bow of his head to try and not be incredibly rude.
"I suppose I should leave you be, then? I must be on my way. It was nice to meet you, Letala."

Letala smiled softly again. "That sounds fine to me." another bird soon joined the other that was on her head, landing on her shoulder, Letala seemed not to notice. All the animals seemed delighted in her company, as if they knew something.
"Oh?" he was bowing, and she decided she'd be polite and bow to him as well. "Oh no... you're already leaving?" she slid a hand over the rabbit again. "But all the forest folk have come out to dance." she twirled where she stood, and picked up her harp again. She strummed her fingers across it as another cheerful tune filled the air" she let go of the harp, as it stayed hanging in the air, the tune seeming to play itself.
Letala extended a hand "You should stay if you will.. another song or dance couldn't hurt?" She hoped he would. "And Khione as well" she smiled down to the dire wolf, giving her wink like they shared some secret.

"Erm..." Ex started, as he watched the hard floating on its own as she spoke. He swallowed hard. Perhaps she was some sort of mage.
"I don't... really dance..." he said, before Khione leapt forward, bounding around the woman with her massive form. It was an odd sight seeing such a splendid creature behaving like a puppy.
Khione, apparently, did not want to leave, and that made Exarion frown. "I can... stay for a bit I suppose... And just, watch." Like a creepy person.

Letala danced around to the music with Khione, laughing like this was the best time she had ever had. The music going around them like there was more than one harp playing the same tune, other notes soon followed.
She frowned at Exarion "Are you sure? It's just a dance."She twirled around the dire wolf. "You can't even bob your head or anything? A wizard didn't curse you so you couldn't dance could he?" She furrowed her brows and hummed along to the tune.
She spun around again tripping and falling into the flowers, a few sprouted and bloomed where she lay, as she pushed herself up giggling. "Oh Khione I lost my footing.. you'e out danced me." she stood up again. Her eyes going back to Exarion "You don't have to be good at it.. It's just for fun. But if you must watch."

She was like a child, he felt. The way she move, acted, and spoke... everything told him she was a child, and he couldn't help but smile at that. At least some people could enjoy being like that, and feeling carefree.
He'd oblige as much to bob his head a bit, going along with the tune. But dancing... No, he wasn't quite ready to make a food of himself in front of strangers... and animals.
Khione happily barked when she out danced the goddess, feeling quite achieved at this point.

Letala gave a laugh to the dire wolf, and smiled brightly to the half elf now as well. "That's it!" sure he wasn't dancing but she got him to bob his head and that was good enough for her.
"So where are you from Exarion?" She asked with a raised brow, still twirling around to the music that was everywhere. "From the forests or the cities? you're a bit more difficult to place than normal." she swished her skirts around.
As much like a child she might be... she was old. Older than time, and even the longest lived races where just a blip of her existence. perhaps that was what made her so whimsical.. she could be the goddess when it came time for her too, but existing for so long had made Letala aware on many many wavelengths.. knowing so much could make anything a little odd.
