A blue house outside of town owned by Mrs. Esme Wilkerson. Roughly 1 mile from the mine entrance.
Paul Smith. (Smitty)
Fred Linch (Flinch)
It was about the time that the would-be rescue party was delving into the caverns that a hung-over Paul Smith rolled himself out of bed and trudged down the stairs straight to the pot of coffee that Flinch had made. He sunk heavily into one of the chairs with hardly a glance at Flinch. It wasn't until his cup was nearly empty that he felt awake enough to notice no one else was there.
"Where's the Calico Queen?" Smitty asked.
"Gone off with Jack. Some hubbub at the mine they went to check out," Flinch replied between drags on his cigarette.
"That blatherskite's gonna be a problem," Smitty glowered at his coffee cup. "Dotty thinks we don't notice the eyes she's been makin' at 'im."
Flinch choose to ignore that particular topic. He might have his own thoughts on the matter, but they weren't ones he was about to have a heart to heart with Smitty about. "Thought maybe we could go check up on Mr Jackson," he said instead. "See what's what."
