All city and continent names are temporary until I can get proper names for each.
Sun Continent
An area with pleasant weather and plenty of rain to keep plants and crops growing but a pretty diverse landscape. The Key of Light resides here which was transformed into the core Sunstone Tower and heart of Solarium's empire.
Many cities have been built up here, each in a landscape corresponding with a certain element. The eastern portion of this continent is full of open plains, small mountains, and rich soil. The City of Soil, responsible for most of the farming, is most prominent here. To the North-East resides a range of mountains forever shrouded in storms. Most avoid these for a reason but the City of Lightning, a bronze-like wonder, rests in the southern-most portion of these mountains.
The north is guarded by a massive mountain range that is treacherous; not just because of the sharp rocks and unstable grounds but also due to the large number of Cotricikal tribes hiding in them. Anyone who gets too close to their liars will be petrified or poisoned, killing them within a few minutes. The largest mountain is actually an active volcano and where the City of Magma resides. Just to the south of these mountains, east of Carrion Mountain, and tucked in a thick forest is the City of Fire. The North-Western region of these mountains hides the City of Stone and is said to house many Grigorvelik.
To the west, at the ocean's edge, is the City of Water. Some might deem this city the true jewel of the Sun Continent with all the waterfalls and canals running through it. It's built into the side of a mountain giving it greater defense than many of the other cities. Since no ships exist, the only way to attack from the sea is if one is a Levias or Caprivik.
The City of Plants sits in the South-West, among thick forests and marshes. Wooden bridges carve a path to it but if one dares to venture they may find themselves lost or end up dying from the poisons and bacteria in some of the marshes. These also make a find home for the mythical Valra so most prefer to stick to the path.
In the Southern-most point of this continent sits the City of Wind, a three-tier city with two tiers floating. It has been destroyed by the demon Rage recently but the fine lands have been drawing Nyctorans back to rebuild. A sweet wind always blows across this city. If it blows from the surrounding forest, it smells of sweet herbs, flowers, and food. From the sea, it's cool and has a tinge of salt. If it comes from the crystal mountains, it's pure and crisp. An eternal storm rages just over these mountains and sometimes disappears. There are legends and rumors that the floating castle of a god or goddess resides at the heart but only a few have actually seen it and no one knows where they are now.
The City of Light ( need a better name) resides in the heart of this continent. It's the largest and brightest city of them all, surrounded by lush grasslands and crystal forests.
It's the first city built and all cities follow a similar structure to it, being circular and split into Elements. Nyctorans live in the one matching their own element and rank. Elites and upper class live in the inner rings, close to the Sunstone Towers. Shrines to both Lumerin and Solarium reside here too. Middle class and high end buissiness reside in the middle rings and the slums and markets reside in the outer rings.
More structure is added by sorting jobs by element too. The structure looks something like this.
Plant Element: Healers, Apothecaries, greenhouses
Water Elements: Healers, Apothecaries, Deep Divers, Fisheries
Light Element: Elite Healers ( they use only magic), Sages, Magicians
Fire Element: Smithies, Area battles, Glass works
Magma Element: Smithies, Glass works
Metal Element: Mercenaries, Fighters (gladiators), Hunters
Soil Element: Farms, Potters
Stone Element: Sculptures
Lightning Element: Machine Workshops ( Raixi based), Amphitheaters for concerts
Wind Element: Theatures, artists and crafters, sages, flying based sports and recreation, tailors
Night Element: Elite Healers, Astrologists, Shrines of Lumerin
Day Element: Elite Healers, Shrines of Solarium, Tailors
Moon Continent
A land that appears to have never been touched by Nyctorans but many tribes live well here. Plants, beast, and even the crystals and stones here have a dark color with hues of blues, greens, and purples, making the place resemble the night sky. When the sun falls, plants, beasts, and even the water glows. The Key of Darkness remains untouched here.
The Crystal Isles
Death Continent
One of two who are viewed as little more than myth. This continent is hidden behind nightmare and dream fog, which puts anyone into a deep sleep. The land itself sees storms almost every day of the year with possibly only a week or month of sun. As a result, the place is a marshland with rich, black soil and many trees, both living and dead, poking out of the mud. Nyctorans do live here, however and build their homes to float or stand on sturdy yet flexible stilts. They survive by fishing and hunting and trading with the neighboring Life Continent. Unique and haunting beasts reside in this harsh environment but the outer world is left unknowing.
Life Continent
The second continent viewed as a myth and also hidden behind nightmare and dream fog. Unlike the Death Continent, this land sees lots of sun and just enough rain to help water crops. The soil here glows with the light of the sun and is said to be sunstone sand. While fertile, the black soil of the death continent is far more nutritious to the crops Nyctorans here and is often obtained through trades to fertilize their fields. Many find and exotic materials and food is grown here but the outer world knows nothing about them.
Spirit Continent
A dark land shrouded with nightmare fog and thick with spirits. Mana is strongest in these lands and many unexplained phenomena occur. Though supernatural occurrences and ghosts are common throughout Nyctoria, this place is the most active and is said to send a Valra running. Many are too afraid to explore these land despite the rumored magical benefits yet some say there are some Nyctorans who live here.
Beast Continent
A desert area with beasts large enough to be mistaken as a dragon. Many of the beasts here are said to be stronger than those anywhere else and Kerberol visit often to obtain new beasts for their hunts and fights. Whether the rumor is true or not is yet to be seen.
Ice Continent
Northern Map
Southern Map
This land is a frozen wonder but still unknown the outside world. While there are tales of Nyctorans with an Ice Element, they are believed to be nothing more than myth. Perhaps someone will explore this place in time.
