MORRIS DANCERS
Aligned to no one. Although some may argue they're a subsect of the Banditos, being similarly lawless, you'd be hard-pressed to find a Bandito who would agree. The stuff of nightmares, no one's really seen a Morris Dancer (and lived to tell a tale). Because of this, rumours abound about the loose 'group', and many doubt their existence altogether (though perhaps that's just wishful thinking).
It's hard to separate fact from fiction, but there's a few common narratives everyone knows of:

It's hard to separate fact from fiction, but there's a few common narratives everyone knows of:
- They're heralded by the sound of bells. You don't want to stick around to see what's making that noise.
- Many suspect they live in the sewers, and use them to get around. Some homeless can attest to or deny that fact.
- Don't ride the Grease Lighting Trail all the way to its terminal stop to the south. Just... don't.
➠ THE WAR OF '99: THE PLOUGHSTOT CALAMITY
The War of '99 claimed many, many lives and is a tragedy in itself. Unfortunately, the bloodshed was enough to lure the Morris Dancers out of their hidey-holes, and the War marks the highest number of encounters, and casualties to the horrific group. One such incident stands above the rest, and has gone down in history as the First, and Last of its kind.
Although nobody knows what vibes the Morris Dancers wield, among the ranks that day was at least one vibepire; thought to be out of his mind on ambrosia, and performing a ploughstots routine, the vibepire, aided by compatriots, was able to sap the vibes of an entire group of Steppers surrounding them, grinding several fights to a standstill as dancers struggled to regain energy and power.
What happened next is up to debate amongst even the witnesses that day. The Steppers fought back valiantly against the Morris Dancers. The battleground was chaotic, disordered, and either by his own hand or the hand of a brave Stepper that managed to break through the ring of dancers, the vibepire was cut down.
That should have been the end of it, the Morris Dancers pushed back and scattering to take out as many Steppers as they could.
...Only, the vibepire, stone cold on the pavement... Took all of the stolen vibes with him.
Some think it was by his own hand, or the hand of one of his own allies. The Morris Dancers were the only ones insane enough to do something like that. But how could anyone have known that that was even possible?
To this day, the Ploughshots Calamity marks the only instance in which a person, persons, who previously held a vibe (either born with, or having manifested one during VDay), permanently becoming jamdeaf.
This instance has never been reproduced. How could you without murdering another Stepper?
Given the 'soul'-like reverence with which many regard their Vibe, the incident shook many to the core, and for some, was worse than all the other atrocities committed during the War of '99 combined.
Some also regard it as the defining Moment for the less-than-stellar view many Steppers hold for vibepires.
➠ MORRIS DANCER HEARSAY
There are many, many rumours flying around about the secretive Morris Dancers. So many it's often difficult to discern which is fact and which is fiction! This thread is now open for your own wild rumours to post below.
I almost got snatched by the Morries once. In high school. Swear it. Me and a buddy were out in the middle of the night when we should’ve been home. It’s dead silent, and all of a sudden there was this clatter followed up by a bunch of jingling bells, getting closer, louder, comin’ from every direction. Never ran so fast in our lives.
