Ayrin was on a mission that day, she was looking for a fight. Knowing it wouldn't take long before she would find it here. Research district was a great place to skate and await a brave dito to come try her. . .

Benson waited patiently at the corner of a research district shopping plaza. Rocking on his feet till his ears caught a familiar sound of blades. Bonnie!? He looks up but instead, rolling down the sidewalk is the tallest woman he’s ever seen.

His mouth gaps as she gets closer. Squinting at a rollerblade donned woman to see if she can tell if she is a dito.

“Wow, Giant.” He says it just a bit too loud to himself. Eyes full of sparkles.

Ayrin screeches to a stop just past him. Turning to look at the beanpole over her shoulder. “What did you say.”

“Uh- you're, really tall!!”

“No. You didn’t.”

“. . . Gian-” Benson can’t finish before he is clocked with an uppercut. He bounces back rubbing his jaw.

“You caught me on a bad day-” She looked him over how he seemed… okay. “, springy.”

Once again he fully takes the hit as he flails his arms to try to block. Landing back on the pavement as this woman towers over him. "Let's go."

Bonnie rounds the corner…

…and what she sees is more than enough to send her skating over at top speed, blood boiling and fire in her eyes.

“Back—” Bonnie hip checks the giantess with full force, giving Ayrin only a split second to brace for impact. “—OFF!”

After putting some distance between Benson and his attacker, she skids to a halt before him, offering him a hand to help him up.

“What the hell is your problem?!” Bonnie shouts at Ayrin, glaring daggers at the woman. She stands before Benson protectively, shielding him from any more attacks.

Ayrin had been distracted, picking a fight with the rubbery suited man. Thinking she had found the ultimate punching bag when -

“Oof!” Ayrin is knocked into hard, stumbling several steps away before she can catch herself. She rubs her hip.

Benson is helped up clumsily, birds and stars wheezing around his head. “H-hey Bon-”

“Hey! We were settling something.” Ayrin snaps and rolls a wide semicircle around the two. “Unless you want to take his place.”

Bonnie’s first instinct is to make sure Benson is ok… she looks him over. He seems alright, just a bit roughed up. “You should sit down over there,” she says, giving him a gentle pat. “I’ll take care of this.”

Maybe it’s because she just came from roller derby practice, but she’s full of more spitfire than usual.

She rounds on Ayrin, getting right up in her face. A chest to chest intimidation move… more like chest to stomach with Ayrin’s height.

“Settling what exactly? Looks to me like a bully doing whatever she wants!”

“Whatever fight you’re trying to start here, you can finish it with me.”

Her eyes dart past Bonnie to the bunny man dizzily watching from behind a corner now. “Stuffing socks in a big mouth.”

Ayrin taps one of her skates on the ground looking at the padded skater, that was a very derby move before. “Alright, since we are both on wheels. Let’s settle it this way.”

“Street style derby.” She smiles down at the dark blue curls. This is the work out she was looking for.

She is really challenging her? To roller derby? Roller derby is Bonnie’s whole thing...!

And yet, this woman is evidently a strong skater – long legs, toned muscles, very agile… Bonnie can see herself losing to her.

A small crowd has gathered around them at all the commotion. She can feel Benson watching her nervously. She can’t back down now!

“Fine,” she says, not breaking from Ayrin’s intense stare.

"This can be the starting line," Bonnie points to a nearby side street. All the backstreets in this neighborhood circle around back to the shopping plaza. It isn’t the best terrain for roller skating – they were in the RD after all, so a few potholes were to be expected - but that would add to the overall challenge.

“We’ll take turns being jammer. The other is blocker. If the jammer does a full tour of the block and makes it back here within two minutes, that’s a win. If the blocker knocks the jammer down first, it’s a point for the blocker. Best two out of three.”

“Vibe use allowed. Sound fair?” Bonnie sticks out a hand to Ayrin, to shake on the rules.
Ayrin grabs Bonnie's hand. “Sure. Throw whatever you got at me.” She steps to the ‘starting line’ and stretches. Though it doesn't need to be fair… She readies herself looking to the other woman. Wonder what her vibe is.
Benson springs out of nowhere in a striped referee costume and a pair of racing flags. Met with a glare from the icy woman. He averts his gaze and gestures to onlookers. “Alright folks clear the way! Move move move.”

When the road appears clear and the two are in position. Benson raises his flags.

“On your mark!”

“Get set!”

“Go!!!”

[[First round of rolls: Bonnie: 3 Ayrin: 2]
At Benson’s signal, Bonnie takes off like a rocket.

1, 2, 1, 2,… Bonnie skates out a rhythm, the kinetic energy charging up her Vibe and strengthening her leg muscles. Dancing and sports, two sides of the same coin if you do it right.

She rounds the corner quickly, easily putting a fair amount of distance between her and Ayrin.

"Better keep up!~" she sings over her shoulder.

Ayrin skated rather gracefully, long sweeps of her legs out to each side.

Though Bonnie took the lead Ayrin bides her time till the corner is cleared. Rounding the corner with the training of an ice skater minding her step on wheels.

She begins gaining on her, almost as if it was in response to the taunt. Her pace builds till she is on her heels, though she is not within reach for any physical force.

[Second round of rolls Bonnie: 6 Ayrin: 6 ]
Bonnie can feel the other woman hot on her heels, slowly closing the gap between them. She's fast. The kind of opponent to actually give Bonnie a run for her money.

Bonnie races across the finish line, winning the round just barely. She skids to a halt as Benson waves his flags about. She wipes her forehead of sweat, flicks her hair over her shoulder, flashes Ben a wink and a thumbs up to the onlookers.

"Not bad," says Bonnie to Ayrin, readying herself at the starting line for the next round. Her turn as blocker. "...but you'll have to try harder."
Ayrin comes in hot, ending across the finish with a loop. “You’re right. I should be faster than that.”

She brushes her bangs back with a confident smile as she slowly lets herself roll circles, muscles loose and ready to go again. “It’s a good workout for me.”

She lines up beside Bonnie as the toony man raises his flags.Round 2!!

Ayrin rolls her shoulders.

On your mark!

Get set!

Go!!

This time she is off as soon as the flags are down. Neck and neck with the other skater, holding firm. Determination to be unsinkable.
Bonnie manages to match Ayrin's pace with strong, swift strides. She's pressed right up next to the other woman. Any of Bon's attempts to check or shove Ayrin are met by an unbreakable guard.

Rounding an especially tight corner, Bonnie kicks against the wall of the alley, using the extra momentum to ram herself into Ayrin's side.
Ayrin is surprised by the strength in which Bonnie tries to shove her off course. She braces her whole weight into it at first then realizes it’s better to try to be more dexterous.

Ayrin side steps with her skates in an attempt to soften or throw off the blow as Bonnie uses the environment to her advantage. Somehow her side step puts enough distance as they roll across the finish of their second lap.

Benson waving his flags to call it.

“How’s that for trying harder?” The question is flat and barely a question. Her shoulder was going to be sore, probably bruised later, she thought.

[Third round of rolls Bonnie: 4 Ayrin: 2]
“Fight’s not over yet,” Bonnie huffs, slowly catching her breath. Though her Vibe was supplying her with tons of adrenaline right now, she’d surely feel all the bumps and bruises tomorrow. Admittedly, she’s impressed that Ayrin could block her like that...

She readies herself at the starting line for the last round, rolling out her neck before crouching in position.

At Benson’s final starting signal, Bonnie starts off, with Ayrin not far behind her.
It was much too late to figure out what Bonnie's vibe was. As they line up at the start again she wonders if she can even knock her out with the built up super strength. Vibe was allowed of course, she agreed to that, despite having nothing to help her here.

But she would give it her all.

Taking off after Bonnie and with a twist around a turn carrying her kenitic force through into a collision with her competitors side.
Bonnie winces at the collision to her side, but she manages to grab Ayrin by the elbow.

And spins the both of them around before shoving Ayrin away. The other woman feels less… frosty than before. Interesting. Bonnie wonders what her Vibe is? Clearly something to do with ice. She wonders why she’s not using it...?

“Do you often go around the RD, picking fights?” huffs Bonnie to Ayrin over her shoulder. Elbows up to block any more incoming attacks. “You’re not from this side of town. I've never seen you before.”
Ayrin takes the spin out with grace, showing her figure skating training in the movement. Though through the grace she is scowling hard in thought. Is there any angle she can get on her?

“It’s not hard in RD. Banditos love to be tricky.” She spits the words through clenches her teeth. “. . .It’s good practice.”

Breathing in deep huffs trying to keep up. She’d warmed up quite a bit that the next time she slams against the other it is barely cold. This time she aims to hit her as they pass a rough patch of street, hoping it would be enough to trip the other up.
Familiar with this neighbourhood, Bonnie swerves around the sidewalk cracks just in time. Huffing and puffing, she taunts Ayrin:

"Maybe you shouldn't--"

As Ayrin comes close to hit her again, Bonnie grabs the woman by the arm.

She rears back one leg, charged up with her Vibe strength. And delivers the kick to Ayrin's torso. She uses any momentum gained to send her propelling closer towards the finish line.

"--underestimate us!"
She is unable to avoid this one, and the grip was so strong all she could do was brace for impact.

WHAM

She trips up as she is used as a boost forward, skidding into a wipe out on the pavement. She gets up and dusts herself off as Bonnie crosses the finish to whooping and hollering mostly coming from Benson. The rabbit wildly waved his flags about.

Ayrin rolls forward to meet her. Her eyes wander to the bendy man who grins stupidly at her then back to Bonnie. Her hands grip the cuffs of her sweater sleeves, and with her brow furrowed still she makes her best attempt at a complement. “I prefer not to challenge people I know I can easily beat.”
