Wesper sat at a bench, tablet out tak tak taking away. Researching . . . That name showed some results. Maybe if he just- BZZT His phone again.
He checks the corner of his tablet text app. Her again. DC had been pestering him to throw down since he got her into the Vendy the last time he saw her. He was busy! He had his regular work tasks, he was going to training with Li Mei and Nails, now this side project to show he means business. Just throwing down for. . . fun?
He could have blocked DC no issue, but it was rather entertaining. He looked at the time stamps between where he didn’t respond. Opens up the keyboard for a response finally.
You want to fight me so bad, it’s a little sad.
Send. Maybe that would slow her down. He checks the time, sighs and puts his tablet into his bag. Okay next on to the task- He lays his head back looking up to the sky. -in a minute.

Wesper’s respite was short lived. The tips of fingers gripped the temples of his glasses by the hinges and lifted, sliding the crown-marked, pink-tinted spectacles away from him in a smooth motion. DC, standing behind his bench, held them up to look through them.
“Oh, these are practical, huh?” She twirled them with one hand, the smugness in her voice. “You know, you’re right. I’ve been absolutely bereft that you’ve been ignoring my messages, zip. I’m being forced to take some drastic measures to heal my broken heart.”
It had just been happy coincidence that she’d received his message just as she’d caught sight of his signature purple poof. DC’s regular texts to Wesper had been as much out of interest as boredom, and his refusal to either respond or block her had only made her more invested. He was a funny little guy with abysmal control of what she saw as an incredibly powerful Vibe.
“I would hazard a guess that you’d like these back?” She bit the arm of the glasses gently between her teeth, as if this was all just some flirting and not, actually, high school level bullying. It was always fun to be petty and mean.

The sky suddenly blinding as he felt the metal leave his temples, his barrier between himself and the world gone. His eyes squint hard at a DC shaped blur standing over him, colors mudding together as he struggled to define the lines between. Wesper pulls his face into his neck in recoil blinking with the sudden brightness and trying to focus on what he could see of his assailant.
Despite what his face displayed, he did his best to remain cool. “Where did you come from?” That ancient, Speak of the devil and she will appear. . . , saying crossed his mind as soon as the words left his mouth.
“Yes, I would like those back.” He stands up and turns to face her with his hand out expectantly. He flinched at the small tink of teeth on metal when she brought them up to her face. Whadahell?

"And I'd like a throwdown with you. It seems we can both give each other something we want! Isn't that handy?" DC inspected the glasses casually, making sure she hadn't damaged the frame with her teeth. She ignored the largely unimportant question of where she'd come from; her bored stroll through purple with Dascha wouldn't add much to the conversation.
"What do you say?" There was a cheerful laughter in DC's tone. "After all, wouldn't it be really funny if you wiped the floor with me after all this?"

“Interesting trade offer- can you do better than just giving me my glasses back?” Weper rhythmically tapped his foot as he looked around at the small park spot. Looking at it with a different set of eyes as his eyes adjusted to the light. The dull muddling together of blues, reds and pinks.
“I guess it would be funny.” Interesting choice of words, she thought so little of him, huh.
Even if he could easily get his glasses back being as small as they are, there wasn’t really any getting out of this. She was persistent. Though one of the training areas would be better than tearing up the district. His eyes lock back in on her, squinting at her hands. “Where do you propose we fight?”
He slides his foot out and to the side, glasses sparkling out of existence and back into his own outstretched fingers. Quickly bringing them back to his face.

The disappearance of the glasses and their return to his face didn't seem to annoy or bother DC; rather, she looked over her fingers and then back at him, excited.
"Oh, so you don't need to see it well to do that much? And they ended up right where you wanted them, with barely any Vibe. Fantastic!" DC was practically beaming. "I did wonder, after you threw me around in the wrong direction twice in a row. I think that might have killed most other allies of yours."
She waved him on to follow. "There's a training court across the way. It doesn't even have to be broadcast, if it's not to your preference. Though, in looking back over your old streams, it seems like you barely show up on them at all. What's going on with that?"

“It’s about mass. . . mostly. . . I wouldn’t have tried that just now with anything bigger. A person is harder to move than a soda can for example.” There were a lot of complicated factors he had to think about but that was the easiest to explain. “Glasses were close enough to me to see the general shape . . .”
He frowns at the killing his allies comment, “I know.” He did. He was well aware he could fuck up bad. Wesper sets off toward the court that DC mentioned with a pout. “I’ve had some accidents with it when I was younger and stuck to smaller things.”
“And the streams? I’m just too cute for the camera.” He joked at the end but his tone didn't change much.

"Makes sense. Mine's got some tricky bits with mass, too." DC now chatted as if they had been friendly this whole time, as if she hadn't just pestered and bullied him into a throwdown he didn't actually want. She was getting her way, so it was easy to be genial.
Whatever his feelings on his 'accidents,' it didn't bother DC. "No wonder you're still struggling with it, if you don't fuck around and find out. We'll have to fix that."
She made sure to walk with him so he stayed on her hearing side, Dascha keeping quiet pace like a white shadow as they took the short trip to the practice court. "It's a shame about the streams! I would've recognized you sooner; you and miss mean girl won me 100 cred off a bet with Noir. It was that fight in RD, the one with that UG old guard and the guy in the mask that looks like a sad orgasm. You hit him with a light pole! It was," and she did a chefs kiss motion, "superb. Imagine if you could do that shit consistently!"

“I have been training! A lot!” He huffs, dropping his bag at the side of the court’s main open area. But he couldn't stay mad because she was being really funny and he puffed up at the compliment. “I- yeah it was pretty cool.”
Maybe being under the influence lended itself to his benefit there. He caught sight of the DJ bot and ran out into the open space spinning around to face DC. “Okay!”
He point’s to the bot. “Skibidi!”
Then his finger trails across to her. “Let’s . . . fight.!”

She left Dascha with Wesper's bag, the dog sitting obediently to watch as DC barely missed clipping her blind side on a light pole at the edge of the court.
She bounced lightly on the softened surface, though her expression turned to very clear dismay at his song choice. What the Groove was *this*? It sounded as bad as the Luxe's bartender's 'get the fuck out of the bar' playlist, and that was saying something. Did he listen to this for fun?
"And I thought the Cha Cha Slide had been bad." But maybe it was actually strategic, because DC was having trouble figuring out how to step into it. It was just so...eugh.
Were those squeaky toy noises?
It hurt her soul to move to this beat, but she did, regardless, moving into the most uncomfortable ginga. She didn't set a Pin yet, though she could have, or have enough built to Travel, but she wanted to see what the little guy pulled off first round, anyway.

The problem with the training field is the options of stuff to interact with was much less than it would be in a throwdown. Some training equipment on the side and gymnastic type junk. But he picked up his dance, crossing his fists over each other with high steps. Watching her struggle to find the rhythm he dropped was certainly a boost in confidence.
“Hah, you should be so lucky to witness me in person!” Even as the two of them squared off the local bots recording seemed to have a hard time pointing at him for long stretches, having to keep looking back to DC.
He would need to build up to something larger but for now- As he jumped to the side into a pelvic thrust. One of the medium sized incline mats in the side area disappeared, rematerializing square over DC. Kinda just a glorified pillow fight with heavier pillows huh- maybe that's appropriate here. . .

The incline mat hit DC and slid off her blind side, making her stumble in place. She recovered quickly, the flow of the ginga not quite in flow with the music but well-practiced in keeping her balance. Wesper had quickly gotten in the first blow, but, true to form, DC looked positively thrilled rather than annoyed.
"Just like that! Looks like you have been practicing, zip." She spared no more time, her arm swooping into a bow that became a rather flamboyant spin, kicking feet over her head. It was enough, then, with a loud crack! of displaced air to Far Travel next to him, vanishing from one spot and reappearing in the next moment.
"Hi." She dropped, and swept a foot, hoping to knock him right onto his ass. Considering her many options, it was far more playful than looking to hurt him. So far.

Well she was having fun! And he was continuing to boogy until that blast of air shoved him back. And the following sweep sent him stumbling feet over ass onto the ground. He tried to kick up a leg to get her as well but she was just barely out of reach of his legs.
He carries the kick through into a roll. Rather ungracefully away from her, pushing himself back to his feet. “Why do you keep calling me zip?”
A hand on each hip, a little wiggle as he pulls them up one at a time behind his head. He seemed to be having fun as well, working to build up his vibe this round as she had temporarily thrown him off. Pink pops of energy form around him.

She followed after him as he rolled, keeping pace as if he was properly playing a game of capoeira instead of wiggling around chaotically. She was having fun, treating this like light exercise rather than a throwdown like she'd had with Volt. Wesper could hurt her, probably on accident as much as on purpose, but she remained undaunted.
"Zip! Because you're little and good with computers." DC feinted a little push towards him, seeing if she could get him to flinch off his rhythm, or try to teleport her away. Her grin was wide enough to show all her sharp teeth. "Like a zip file. Compressed. Full of data and computer junk. Keep up!"

He moves to dodge the fake out shove. More short jabs. It didn’t phase him so much anymore. But this one was particularly unique that he didn’t know what to do with. A zip file . . . compressed. “I don’t know whether that’s meant to be a compliment or an insult but I’ll take the former.”
He Pointed a finger directly in her face and flicked it upwards. Knowing full well she could catch her self- but also that how high she was played a factor.
She can catch herself at 20, what about 10? DC would find herself just that much higher in the air and askew from her last position with a disorienting pop.

"Why would it be a--" DC started to say, before she was yanked unceremoniously out of existence and back into it. She might have hit the ground, trusting on her years of parkour practice and the slightly softer practice deck to keep the fall from being too disastrous. Instead she Pinned with her torso about five feet up, transferring what little fall momentum was there into a spin.
"Nice shot!" She took the rest of that spin and amped it just slightly, so when she reached out to grab his collar, she might grab him and toss him across the court.
[Round 4 -- Rolled 9]

[Round 4 -- Rolled 9]
The grab was abrupt, a sharp and hard pull at his neck he was sure to feel later. Did she mean to grab him that hard- Wesper thinks to redirect his movement back at her as he is sent flying but he’s not quick enough.
The pink pop of vibe appears behind him as he tumbles away, missing him entirely. His arms reflexively go up over his face as he crash lands. Sliding to a stop.
Wesper pushes himself up as quick as he is able to, coughing, regaining his breath. Shakily turning back to her. That was a nasty hit, but he was not ready to give up yet. “S-same.”
Starting once again up to recoup his vibe, shimming and stepping back into the middle of the court.

“Whoops.” DC hadn’t meant to throw him that hard, but she also didn’t actually look sorry about it. He wouldn’t even need a Vendy trip after, so it was fine. Probably just have some bruises in faction-appropriate colors on his cute little butt.
Ah, he was up, his glasses weren’t cracked, and he was shimmying away again to this stupid music. Resilient enough; probably had to be with the way his powers could backfire. Maybe there was a little something to what Hide saw in him.
“You got something big cooking up for me?” She spun on her Pin, the momentum transferring into helicopter kicks that built the Vibe necessary to Travel. With a new sharp crack of displaced oxygen, she hopped off of her axis, leaving behind a softly glowing orb of light where she once was.
Wesper wouldn’t see that, though, as DC was now directly in front of his face, grinning brightly. “Think fast–!”

He wasn’t given much time again, not knowing what she was going to do with that ’think fast-’ warning. He had no choice but to. A very short distance would be doable. In a blink and flurry of pink distorted space in front of DC Wesper vanishes.
"-Just a snack." Came his voice right next to her head. His arms reach around her from behind in an upper torso grapple. He lets his whole weight sink with no attempt to land on his feet himself- surprisingly heavy for someone his size. An attempt to drag her down and restrain her.

As Wesper's arms wrapped around her and he dropped forward onto her, DC hit the ground hard, managing to turn her head so that only her already-scarred cheek would take the brunt of the burn. Maybe she should have taken Wesper a little more seriously!
"I think that's three, and you win," DC laughed once her lungs got air back into them. That admission caused the music to finally, blessedly, fade out from the practice court's DJ Bot. "Not quite who I thought might be on top later, but it's a nice surprise~."
Her Pin pulsed a few feet away, and with another snap she was out from under Wesper, having Gone Home to her point of space. She brushed at herself, straightened her jacket and hat, and put her chin on her hand. "So! Now I'm extra curious. What's different in a throwdown like this that lets you perform properly, as opposed to doing a little Cha-Cha Slide on a rooftop? Unless you were actually trying to kill me."
