The mafia is about sophistication, discipline, and control. Mafioso value loyalty, dance ability, musical skill, and vibe power. Steppers with those things are given the respect they deserve. Or else.
In the past, disco & funk was the Mafia's favored style, but since the War of '99 and the death of many disco dancers, the Mafia began recruiting more openly. Because of this shift, the mafia has developed more tolerance to non-disco styles in general.
Many mafioso consider their organization a family. You mess with one of them, all their relatives come knocking. At your face. With iron knuckles. They Mafia has a history of running efficiently and effectively since the War of 99 due to this tight-knit and highly structured nature.
While the last 10 years have been hard on the UG and their warring sub-factions, strong Mafia leadership has led the purple to a decade of relative prosperity and power.
