➠ DISTRICT & ARCHITECTURE
Communal gardening is a big aspect of the Orange District's culture, especially after the famine during The Scientist Rebellion and everyone who lives in the district is expected to help out once in a while, even UG’s Leader. Other factions caught disrespecting Orange District’s communal gardens are met with violence.
Squares are welcomed in this district, Banditos are tolerated and Funk Mafia are usually fought on sight.

➠ LEADER AND MC VENUES
UGHQ: UGHQ was the first major club founded after V-Day and the purging of the Scientists. Its original purpose was to be used as a multifunctional building for the arts, theatre, and live music dubbed ‘The Deck’. After the two factions were formed, ‘The Deck’, later renamed ‘UGHQ’ by the UG’s founder Greg Dorian, was used as the main base of operations for the newly made UG and has been growing ever since.
UGHQ is still partly used for its original purpose as a nightclub, theatre, and art space. However, the other parts have been repurposed for UG’s head offices (including their accounting department), accommodation for those who work there as well as emergency accommodation for those who are in extreme circumstances. It is also where the UG boss lives.
Tu Candela Bar: A club lit in neon orange, presented with both a bar-restaurant combination on one side and a dance section on the other, complete with a stage for special performances. Tu Candela was made to represent Colombia, both in design, dance styles (by people Lynne has trained and hired herself), and cuisine. While all manner of drinks is served, the main menu lists everything from the Country's own specialties. The wait staff and bartenders/cooks are usually dressed in uniforms with orange incorporated into the design and the UG symbol embroidered onto their tops.
Rekkid: This building was originally Step City Radio’s Headquarters. However, after the two factions were formed and with the building being located in what would become the North of the Orange District, the radio station now only hosts slots and shows loyal to UG. Back in UG’s inception, the radio tower was used to help gain new recruits as well as discredit Funk Mafia. FM have their own radio stations now but Rekkid is still the most advanced by a long shot.
The former boss of Rekkid: Joules, has a daily radio slot every day called ‘Joules Power Hour!’ No one ever sees him arrive or leave, but he is always there to host his show to the island.
OPP: OPP is the UG’s second base of operations. It was formerly a discotheque that bordered the two districts but UG crews were able to win the surrounding land and building after defeating its FM Boss in a dance-off. Today, it holds a large black market consisting of drugs and goods taken from other factions and a variety of rare Vendy machines that can’t be found anywhere else. In X108 the OPP was captured by Funk Mafia and is still under it's control today. But as of X112, UG reclaimed OPP on Halloween.

➠ GOVERNANCE
How the district is governed.
The Orange district was originally run by several smaller factions after V-day, so when Greg Dorian came into power and united them all together under the banner of UG, he had each of those smaller factions to delegate an elected community leader to represent that’s sub-faction issues and concerns as to not take away the power from the people.
Each month, the elected community leader comes together with UG’s Leader and MCs to discuss the issues, communal projects, and the like, and in turn the UG Leader and MCs put those plans into action if they are reasonable and within budget.
Communal leaders are changed regularly, but those who have been most effective are representing their smaller districts are usually cycled back into the position.
---
While everyone in the Orange district supports UG, not every member can join the UG Organisation due to a number of factors. Maybe they lack Vibe, don’t have vibe that is useful in a fight, have a full-time job, are too old/ too young, ect.
Every Orange district member receives a living wage and access to any available communal programs that are available.
UG members however receive a few extra benefits on top of a living wage which include:
-
- A UG points card- A physical or digital card that can be used to receive discounts at Vendies and locations in the Orange District. Points can be earned for winning dance battles, helping out the community, participating in events, being fresh af, ect.
-
- Access to housing quicker if they are joining from outside the District.
-
- Training Facilities.
-
- And more!
Crime is also dealt with a mix of the community actions and members within UG. De-escalation and rehabilitation are the main creeds of this district however if the crime committed by someone of the Orange District is too egregious, the person in question will be either banished from UG to become a Bandito or put down permanently.
While drugs are legal in this District, there is a heavy emphasis on imbibing in safe locations and not to open up on public streets. OPP was one of those said locations to buy and deal,
➠ KNOWN LOCATIONS IN UG
Dead Weights: A Goth themed Gym run by Maka Roni (an npc) which specializes in wrestling and getting gains.
JUmpOnIT!!: A gymnastics gym where Carla works.
Sound Garden: Sound Garden is located close to Rekkid and is closed off to the public as it deals with experimental Vibe and Botany fusion to make vibe-infused superfoods. It is one of the 3 largest UG-sponsored and run Greenhouse Gardens in the Orange District.
Belafonte Market: Located in Belafonte Square, this is one of the biggest open markets in the district where everyone comes together to sell their wares. These can range from baked goods, arts/crafts, clothes, fruit and veg grown in your own personal garden to even work for hire and services.
Pizza Joint 420: A traveling pizza stall run by a Pizza vibe punk performer. Can the pizza's get you high? Gotta try to find out!

'Red Button'
When Steven vanished, Lynne had started work on an App that connects to everyone's phone, though to UG-based individuals only, and only in recent years would she have gotten it perfected. It comes with a built in GPS that hones in on a person's location, whenever they press the button presented when they feel they're in a dangerous situation or just need help in general. It's not confined to handling confrontations, after all.
Given how long it's been being used, it's safe to say your character has the App if they're the sort to download it, though I must emphasize Lynne likely won't let other Faction members use it unless she knows they won't use it to trap people. Especially UG. Lynne will also redirect pings to people in the area, incase she isn't able to assist.
