Quinne meets Kaz, but then Harpur and Kaz duel

>
Kazdram
This evening was Kazdrams first lesson of psychic training, which despite having signed up for, he was reluctant to attend. It was apparent how little he thought of the class by showing up 35 minutes after it had already began. The psychic instructor Fontaine, stopped everything to give him a heated lecture for wasting his time. Kazdram tried to sound genuine in his fake apology but the instructor also saw through that immediately, making the reprimand all the worse. Needless to say it was pretty embarrassing getting chewed out in font of- what Kazdram assumed were- a bunch of 20 something's.

Kazdram managed to keep his commentary held in through the rest of the training. He earned a rather rude lesson, and was made the example subject for the other students as they practiced. Kazdram was basically reminded of what he already knew; it was difficult for him to conjure any kind of illusion, while sober, and without the help of Ego Death. He felt cheated and weirdly behind amongst the younger psychic steppers and was just grateful when it was all over.

The musician was mentally exhausted by the end of it. Approached by the instructor as he was yanking off his stupid tie and pulling his hair loose from a pony tail.

"If you don't show up on time at my next class. You won't be learning from me at all." Fontaine's eyes glowed a threatening green as he told Kazdram.

"Oof, c'mon man, no one wants that. I promise I'll be here, that was a one time thing. Y'know? Adjusting."

"You'd better be, if youre serious about this. Or you can count on being a background prop for the rest of your career. And that's if you're lucky." Fontaine sneered at the musician.

"Wow, uh. A little harsh. And, okay. Obviously you haven't been to one of my shows. Because- heh- I'm hardly a prop." Kazdram managed a half smile which only seemed to enrage the instructor.

Fontaine scoffed and rolled his eyes, spinning on his heel, leaving Kazdram alone in the training space.

"Cool! Good chat! Same time Thursday!" Kazdram called out to him, and the door rattled as it slammed shut, leaving Kazdram alone with the Vendy in the training room. He sighed heavy, with only the familiar company of his own thoughts. Maybe it'd be easier to practice alone, maybe he could get his skills together, and run through some basics before the next training class came in.

Quinne — 05/17/2021
It was the sound of the slamming door and the equally annoyed looking instructor that caught his attention, so he headed for the training room. A bit unnecessary, he felt, making that much noise. It was likely to prove a point, or something throwing a fit. But, none of the others with them seemed as irritated.

So, into the room he'd go, pale eyes immediately focusing on Kaz. He straightened after the initial lean-in that followed him opening the door and he looked around the room after. "Bad day?" Bad class, perhaps. Kaz was alone, so he assumed there was a reason for that.

Quinne had gone without a more formal getup, but his clothes were still neat, clean and accentuated with purple. It was likely not needed all the time, but darks and purples as a combination were something he just fancied.

Kazdram — 05/17/2021
The soft percussive drums of Pedro Navaja were coming from the Vendy, and Kazdram was found trying to get his vibe eye to appear as he guided his footwork in time. He led his steps in a wide circle as he rolled up the sleeves of a busy patterned shirt, tucked into clashing patterned slacks. Regardless of if he were on duty, Kazdram was always in FM colors- he figured if he could manage any effort it might as well go toward appearance.

An unfamiliar voice made him stop in place and turn toward the door. The last thing Kazdram actually wanted to do was practice this skill he was poor at. So currently, any interruption was a welcome one.

"Oh hey. Uh well- " Kazdram placed his hands on his hips and rocked back on his heels. "Days still not up yet. Maybe the high parts coming." He huffed a single dry laugh, looking through the empty space and back to the stranger. This was a pretty sharp looking guy, pretty young-ish as far as he could tell. Cool, another twenty-something that probably had an expert hold on their vibe. He found himself unable to stop the bitterness behind that thought thanks to the lingering lessons from earlier.

"You here for the next training sesh?" Kazdram thought to ask, gathering his yards of hair to rest over his back. "It's a little early, still, I think. But I'll be outta here once things get started."

Quinne — 05/17/2021
And a distraction he would be. He leaned into the doorframe this time, as he listened, and nodded once. "That's true. I'm sure it'll get better." He said, even if he remained passive. He hadn't caught what Kaz had been doing prior, but cast a glance towards the vendy. "I had considered it, but I'm not a fan of practicing with a group."

Any little thing might serve to annoy him from others, and he had a ridiculous amount of expectations from others just as much as himself. "I heard the door slam, got curious. But, there was also the chance no one else was here and I could use it for myself for a moment." Much like Kaz had been planning.

"I would hate to interrupt what you were doing, however." He said, as moved back a small pace. "My apologies."

Kazdram — 05/18/2021
"Tch dude, don't even worry about it." Kazdram swung a hand to him then to the empty studio. "You wanna use the space, go ahead. Probably put it to better use than I could right now."

"Hah, so you heard that huh?" Kazdram rolled his eyes and a wider smile appeared. "Doesn't surprise me at all, dude lost it on me for being late. Man, no one told me Fontaine was such a drama queen. Guess that just happens when your short." He laughed a little, that mightve been unfair, since Kazdram was the one who showed up late....... but he was short.

"But let's be honest, if you're expecting a musician to show up any where in time. That's your mistake." Kazdram chuckled with his small quip, watching Quinne in the doorway.

"I'm Kazdram by the way. I play the stages." He gave a short introduction. "And yeah, like I said, feel free if you wanna hop in. I could maybe use a partner if you're into that."

Quinne — 05/18/2021
"How long until the next class? I never really check as much as I should." For his own reasons!

"It was hard not to. Unfortunate that, but I imagine if you're punctual next time, he'll forget it ever happened and you can have one less headache." A smirk followed at the indication that it was likely due to the man's height, but said nothing.

"That's fair."

He pushed away when Kazdram introduced himself, but towards the other and not away from him. He'd close the door, a lot less quieter than the last guy, and he'd tug at his sleeves. "Quinne, usually just a Bartender. It is nice to meet you." He considers the offer next, only to nod. "I wouldn't mind. What does your vibe do?"

Kazdram — 05/18/2021
"Likewise bud. Always good to know the bartender." Kazdram chuckled and smiled, seeming genuinely happy to meet someone new. "I'd say about an hour, maybe." That was a generous guess on when new trainees were coming in, since Kazdram really had no clue either.

"Haha! Well that's the thing isn't it?" He hesitated a bit with explaining his vibe to Quinne. He inhaled deep as he considered giving him the 'Follow the guide to the Kingdom of Groove' pitch, but it seemed ill timed at the moment.

"Under the right conditions I can make an illusion space, and who ever is caught in it is subject to whatever visions, revelations, existential terrors, of my design. Or even collaborative, whatever. That is, so long as the condition is met that- I'm playing my guitar."

For the sake of flourish, Kazdram kneeled and placed his palm on the floor. A bright pink light beamed through the cracks in his fingers and from that he pulled the guitar Ego Death out of a dimension tear in the floor. He stood holding it, feeling more comfortable than he had all day. And with a single short riff, the glowing third eye appeared on his forehead. Wow really? It shows up now? Of course it does.

Kazdram huffed and collapsed his palms together, sending the cosmic guitar back to the void. "So here I am, taking salsa lessons to get my vibe to cooperate when I'm not playing. It's uh..... it could be going a lot better that's for sure." He grumbled toward the end.

"I'm sure you don't have to deal with something so restrictive." He meant Quinnes vibe, whatever form it may have taken.

Quinne — 05/18/2021
"So it is." So long as one was nice to the bartender. "An hour, should be enough time to do anything." He'd even set an alarm a few minutes prior before adjusting his watch again. As Kazdram explained his vibe, Quinne listened attentively and raised his eyebrows when that guitar is manifested.

"That's some vibe." Certainly would fit his other job perfectly, but alas, it could not be. His eyes wandered over that glowing third eye, curious again. "What is the main issue when you try to use it without the guitar? Is it weaker? Or does it go haywire?" He'd ask, but he tugged at his sleeves at the following question.

"Not so much, no." Above one of his palms, a shard of glass manifested and he twisted the shape to resemble a knife. "But, I'm hoping to expand onto other shapes and thickness. If I could make something that isn't so easily shattered, I could make more appropriate shields." Something akin to bulletproof glass, perhaps.

Harpur — 05/19/2021
The shadows in the room flicker a few seconds after Ego Death is strummed. It seems to settle, perhaps it was a figment of their imagination, perhaps the lights flickered instead. But after a little gap in time the doors to the training room creak open and a shadow appears in the doorway, only to clear out of the way and reveal Harpur as he stuck his head in the door.

He looked between Quinne and Kaz "oh - uh" he rumbled a bit dumbly before clearing his throat "I thought I heard Ego Death, Hey" he smirked and nodded to the guitar "Didn' mean t' interrupt nothin, you two alright?" He doesn't enter, just in case he is interrupting...training? looks more like a show and tell at the moment.

He does move in just slightly to lean against the doorframe and now in the light it quickly becomes apparent that he's wearing an ugly/attractive/adventurous paisley patterned shirt and carrying a tote bag of groceries over one shoulder after a trip to a vendy or two.

Kazdram — 05/19/2021
Kazdrams head swayed back slightly at the effortless demonstration of Quinnes vibe. For something so dangerous he had an excellent handle on it, it looked so reliable and so.....obedient. "Shit, look at that control. Well I guess you don't really have much of a choice when playing with knives huh?" Kazdram laughed shortly, without the presence of his guitar the third eye gradually faded away, and he could feel it. "Offense and defence, geez. You got it covered."

"Uh, for me, it's a control issue. It's just unreliable- and yeah I guess kinda haywire on its own?" Kazdram wasn't entirely sure how to answer since he could count the times he used it without the guitar on one hand.

With Ego Death locked away for the time being, Kazdram was reluctant to actually get initiate the actual training. That was until Harpurs shadows flickered through the practice space, drawing his attention. "Oh!" Oh indeed, hopefully this wouldn't be embarrassing if Harpur decided to stick around. "Hey Harp. Lookin good dude."

"We're uh-" Kaz looked to Quinne to gauge how well the two mafiosos might've known each other. "Yeah we're good." He flicked his head back and spotted the tote bag. "Whats for dinner there bud?"

Quinne — 05/19/2021
"Yes, though I think I spent a lot more time on just...training than I did everything else." Focus might have been better elsewhere too, but he'd argue it in the end. What else was more important? "I do not, no! I would also feel pretty bad if I played with them and everyone else took a beating that it wasn't intended for." He'd be such a great dance partner then, taking out his side as well. "Do you practice outside the lessons here? Anyone you're comfortable for that?" Mostly a suggestion to do something outside worrying about being late for a class and dealing with the dramatic.

When what he perceived were the lights flickering, he looked up at the ceiling briefly, until Harpur spoke up. "Good afternoon." He said with a nod, eyes focused on that shirt of his. What a design. A nod followed Kaz's response and he moved his hand once the dagger vanished from view, only to cross his arms over his stomach. "Just having a talk about practice and vibes, nothing big."

Harpur — 05/19/2021
Harpur's cheeks warm subtly as his shirt is commented on "Uh- thanks." he notices Quinne looking a little too long and he stares back in slight challenge, daring him to say something about it. Secretly he knows it's very loud. "Oh uh!" he looks down and rummages around his black tote bag "Goin' t' do some chicken breast fillets with a garlic cream sauce n' some dauphinoise potatoes with a side of samphire. Y' normally do samphire with fish but I've been cravin' it. ...oh n' some fancy dog food for m' little princess."

He pulls a can out of the tote bag and shakes it, it is the fanciest of tins.

"Ah trainin'... I've been doin' a lot of that lately, got a swing instructor called Andromeda. Mean woman, needle vibe... lucky me when I go wrong huh? I come outta there lookin' like a pincushion some days." he huffs, but it's a fond grin that forms. He likes her no bullshit attitude.

"Wait, why are you two in here anyway? you takin' a class soon?" He sets the bag against the wall and lets the door fall shut as he moves on in, thumbs hooked into his pockets.

Kazdram — 05/19/2021
"Yknow this is like, the first time I've had lessons since I was, what a teenager?" Kazdram answered Quinne. "So yeah it's been a while. And no, haha, I'm not lucky enough to have a steady partner. No one in the bands a decent stepper." He grinned and chuckled at his last statement.

Kazdram was only sure if half the things on Harpurs dinner menu, but it all sounded absolutely delicious. He was ready to continue on that track until he asked his question.
"I ah- well." Kazdram hesitated once again thinking how best to answer. Might as well admit to it, Quinne already knew. "I was in a training session that just wrapped up, with a handful of psychic kids. I mean, okay not kids. Talented... steppers." Just because he hadn't put in the time didn't mean he should undermine the other students skill. They were all family after all.

"Huh, do her and Fontaine fuckin know eachother? He just left. But the dude has such a short fuse." Probably because he was only 4 fucking feet tall. "No hello or nice to see you, he just reamed me out and used me as a test dummy the whole session for showing up late." Kazdram huffed, "Tch. Wonder what he's like when he's in a bad mood." He joked but without a smile.

"Anyway hmm," As much as he didn't want to actually go through with training, it was probably better to get it over with. It was nice of Quinne to volunteer, but Kazdram didn't want to waste his time "If we do actually have an hour. Are you okay with me trying to get the eye going? Maybe just a dance, or uh? In a one on one or something?" The word Kazdram was looking for was probably 'spar', but he didn't bother to elaborate as he was very much hoping that would not be the chosen option. It was just something he'd seen many a dancer do in training setting.

"Alright well. Full disclosure. I don't actually know how to go about training? If that's a surprise at all. I was just gonna try anything and, well, see what happens?" He shrugged.

Quinne — 05/19/2021
"Perhaps it's time to find someone outside of it, if only for practice." Quinne suggested, and at Harpur's challenging look, he only gave him a bored one. If he was hoping for intimidation, he found the wrong person for it. He ignored commentary of food, and glanced around the room, but eventually settled his attention back on Kaz. "An unfortunate turnout, maybe next time will be better."

When Kaz suggested a spar, he lowered his phone a bit. "Who are you asking?" Just so he didn't make assumptions. "That would be a good start, honestly. Focus on what you want to do and just...give it a shot. If it doesn't go well, it's only the first time." Quinne would reply and put his phone away again, straightening his gloves.

"If Harpur wants to assist, I don't mind watching incase things get a bit...messy."

Harpur — 05/19/2021
Harpur laughs "Hey, I snubbed my instructor the first day, I've been beggin' on my knees for forgiveness ever since. I gots a tip for y' though Kaz." he walks in with his arms folded and a cocky smirk, leaning towards him "y' gotta bring Gelato t' training" he whispers conspiratorially. "Andromeda's in love with m' dog, sure softened her up even if she won't admit it."

The suggestion of sparing took him by surprise, Harpur raised a brow and turned his head to look at Quinne for his input, and input he'd come to trust. "M' more than happy t' assist... m' learning a new style, I can use that. I got the vibe down some too but might even the playin' field." he shrugs a shoulder "Unless y' wanted t' do that Quinne, I got an hour I can spare."

Though he realizes something bizarre, he hates the idea of hurting Kazdram, something he'll just have to move past. He thinks he knows why.

Kazdram — 05/20/2021
"No shit? Hmm. Maybe I'll give his collar training another shot." He said in response to using adorable pets to soften up rigid instructors.

"Messy?" Kazdram blinked repeatedly as his unspoken suggestion suddenly took legs with the other two. Of course it would they were clearly seasoned fighters, and he was very much not. "I ah? Well I was asking you, but-" He inclined his chin to Quinne, but figured maybe he should reconsider, he could only dance around knives so well, at least he knew Harpurs vibe well enough. Both theirs were mostly intangible, but the idea of sparring with him gave Kazdram a sinking pit in his stomach. "Heh, yeeeeeah, cool. Why not me and you big guy? Shouldn't take long right?" His confidence betrayed him as he already sounded nervous.

Kazdram cleared his throat- really it didn't matter who he chose, he didn't want to go through with it, but now was the perfect time and place, and there was no talking his way out. If he was going to learn how to use the eye off stage, this was how.

He took a deep breath and shook his hair out over his back, deciding to accept his fate whatever the other two agreed on. He knew he was already at the disadvantage of not wanting to hurt an opponent, so yeah- maybe it wouldnt take long at least.

"So, uh what? Like what do we do?" He deferred to both Quinne and Harpur since they were clearly more experienced.

Quinne — 05/20/2021
"That sounds like cheating." It was a jest, in regards to using their pets to butter up their training.

"Messy, in the way of someone getting hurt. We've all got great control, I'm sure." Perhaps not so much Kaz, given the need for sparring to begin with. Harpur was eager to assist, and at Kaz's comment, he'd incline his head. "You and I can do it another time?" He suggested, and took notice of Harpur's look. "It's likely a better option, I wouldn't want to have you walking out of here looking like a very aggressive cat jumped you."

If he could make the knives dull, he would have.

When Kazdram sounded nervous, he'd give the other the same information he'd given Amahle as well. "If you're worried about failing before you even start, you will. Go in thinking you've got this, and you might even surprise yourself with how easy confidence can be."

Harpur — 05/21/2021
Harpur chuckles "I'm about ready to give up on collar anything for Roxy, if she wants to do something she just phases away. Best I can do is train her recall and other good behavior. It absolutely is cheatin' though and I encourage it." he grinned lopsidedly.

He casts a look at Quinne and smirks "I'll remember that one, Mr. Very Aggressive Cat." he snorts and rolls his arms to loosen them up. He steps in close to Kazdram and offers a small smile "Don't you worry, you just let me know if I'm going too far, yeah?" he says it more quietly "Don't hold back on me, I can handle it." he hopes to put Kaz at ease, he can see it in his eyes.

He feels the same way.

"He has good advice, y' better listen to him" he nods towards Quinne as he steps back "You pick y'self a song y' comfortable with. I'll adapt." (sorry guys i somehow never saw that it was my turn, must have opened it when i just woke up)

Kazdram — 05/25/2021
"Ah cool. Thanks, dude." Kazdram gave Quinne a nod of acknowledgement for the advice; but easier said than done in this instance.

Confidence was something Kazdram was never short on, in fact he was overflowing with it at most every point in the day. Performing he could do for hours, but it was actual combat skill he was lacking, made worse by the dread of aggravated contact. And being matched up against Harpur of all people did not put his mind at ease, no matter how nice the body guard was going to be.

The tempo in the song was steadily picking up as it was coming to it's final verses;

Mientras reía el puñal hundía sin compasión~
Cuando de pronto sonó un disparo como un cañón~

Kazdram kept the vendy going on it's current, random list of Latin classics. That's what the instructor favored, maybe there was reason behind it. Salsa was consistent, structured, so not too much extra improvisation to be concerned with.

Kazdram shut his eyes to fall into rhythm, loosening up his movements with the down beat, as he got in step he managed to at least look more comfortable. But once he opened his eyes, Harpur was most definitely there, just as imposing as always.
Sweet Celia Cruz, this was actually happening.

The previous song wrapped up, leading into disco the bass guitar and keyboard, Kazdram kept his distance, at least an arms length away from Harpur while he danced a circle around him, watching for his chances to evade and hoping his vibe eye would be gracious enough to make an appearance.

Quinne — 05/25/2021
"Yeah, you're welcome." Quinne inclined his head at the nickname on the spot, but merely smirked in Harpur's direction and moved to stand back against the wall. "Good luck to you both. I'm eager to see how this turns out." Probably a decent show.

Even with his promise to watch, the Mafioso had his phone out afterwards and went through his usual checks. Stepbook, texts, specific chats. He was still somewhat observant, and respectfully quiet.

Harpur — 05/25/2021
Harpur doesn't immediately dance, he stands there feeling the music even while Kazdram begins. Truth of the matter is he wants to give Kaz a head start because he knows his vibe is going to start shedding weakly in every direction the moment he starts dancing "You might want to step back there, Quinne, or you're going to get caught in it" he says, it's just safety. The song in itself plays into his preferences with that slapping bass, he really needs to think about how to swing to it though.

"If you've ever talked yourself down from an emotional spiral, you're going to need to remember how you did that." he warns Kazdram, but then he begins to dance, probably the moment Kaz was dreading the most by the sounds of it too. At least this vibe... well at least it's not as harmful as some. He's a bit more practiced than he feels, beginning steady footwork to the beat. Kaz circles him, they both dance.

Then it happens, his aura sheds with more intensity than intended, the room around him is filled with greed. It's not at its strongest, StageFright hasn't appeared yet, so it would target the things Kazdram wants most in this moment, the sheer need for whatever it is the victim wants can make them aggressive should any try to intervene.

Kazdram — 05/26/2021
Kazdram had heard Harpers advice just before he joined in the dance. As he circled, he quickly tried to grab mental hold of something he would use to ground himself when he would start to spiral. But before the thought could be recalled, the greed dawned on him suddenly, an overwhelming, foreign compulsion.

Kazdrams vibe absolutely hated this intrusion, it's act of defense took form as Kazdram glowed bright pink, shimmer bursting from him in a failed attempt to shake off the unwelcome entity.

The thing he wanted most was his third eye to appear, and in the moment that thought became his sole purpose; it had to happen. In defense of their host Ego Death desperately called to Kazdram in a screaming high pitched wail from the edges of his mind, nearly blinding him with the piercing sound.

Kazdram grimaced in pain, groaning through his teeth as his steps faltered. Anyone watching could see him experiencing something internal, squeezing his eyes closed in hopes to blink away the ringing in his ears. In the struggle, the oblong eye began to flicker on his head, bringing with it the anguished sound of the guitar from the void into the training room.

Kazdram watched his feet still moving, continuing their steps as he saw the light from his forehead glowing over him. The greed planted within him celebrated, pulling a grin across his face. Once the eye burned steady, the deafening noise of Endless Feedback came fading in. With a flick of his head upward to his opponent, Kazdram centered it on Harpur.

Harpur — 05/26/2021
Harpur feels himself well up with concern as Kazdram grimaced, It’d be obvious to their onlooker that he was considering calling the whole thing off in an instant. For a man who celebrated pain and death so readily, he couldn’t stand seeing Kaz suffer. He had to, it would help Kazdram learn.

He sees that third eye awaken and feels a swell of excitement for Kazdram’s success, pride to. He’s so happy he does something rare, he forgets he’s fighting. It comes back to him all too strongly as Kazdram focuses his eye on him. The reaction is explosive, Harpur is very susceptible, it cuts right through his brain like an arrow.

A yell tears itself from his throat as he stops dancing and hunches over to grip at the sides of his head. Shadows burst from his body, it’s defensive. He hadn’t intended to use StageFright but the horrible entity takes over to try and protect him from the terrible noise inside his head. Soon, towering before Kazdram is the screeching shadow beast covering its head with long claws. Unable to summon an aura he charges at Kazdram and headbutts the eye directly, long enough to stop that excruciating noise he hopes so he can get back to dancing.

Hard to find rhythm when you can’t hear your own thoughts.

Kazdram — 05/26/2021
Kazdram froze once he saw the shadowy manifestation of StageFright form over Harpur, he had never seen it in person or up close. But there was no time to react as it charged him, and Kazdram experienced a moment of blindness at the impact on his skull. The vibe eye on his forehead pulsed a bit but was undamaged. He cursed and swayed backward, falling out of step with the music.

He struggled a bit to shake away the stars in his vision, putting more distance between himself and StageFright, returning to his circling around them. The eye burned bright as his focus was concentrated now, hoping to evade better the next time an attack came his way.

Kazdram was not sure what to do, StageFright was indeed intimidating. He continued to circle, weaving and ducking when he could. But the greed demanded more, it ordered him to take Harpur and StageFright back to Kazdrams domain.

Kazdram came in closer, focusing his stare on the wide hollow eyes that looked back at him. The walls and music around them began to warp as Kazdram tried to will a third eye to appear on StageFrights forehead. A small pin-sized light appeared on his point of concentration, but as he had to continue his movent along with the beat it was difficult to make the spec grow into a proper eye.

Kazdram gritted his teeth, determined to make them a part of The Experience. But the attempt was weak, all he could manage was a flickering dim glow, causing the room around them to strobe, distractingly so, between illusion and reality.

StageFright — 05/27/2021
StageFright bared their teeth dangerously at Kazdram, shadows vibrating as he rattled off a threatening snarl and returned to dancing. He wanted to go back to Disco, what good was greed to him? what good could it do him in a damn fight? there were other things he could feel under this style but he'd not accessed them yet, he didn't know which moves might unlock them.

Both of them were at a loss, but StageFright sure felt like he was at a disadvantage, he didn't know how to utilize this greed in battle. But StageFright was out now which meant his aura could grow in strength... that was if he wasn't sucked straight into the void. He quickly remembered that feeling, that place when Kazdram came in closer. He shook his head, he didn't want the third eye damn it! the battle would be lost if he ended up there... but at least they'd have done what they came here to do, to help Kazdram get his vibe started without Ego Death. He's a little distressed as his glowing white eyes dart around the flickering room.

But he was too stubborn to halt the greed aura, it grew in magnitude, making that greed a distracting and powerful thing were it successful, intensifying that need to win to extremes in a way that made it very easy to get sloppy in the frantic need to GET IT RIGHT, get all that wonderful praise from his instructor, from his bosses, the Don!

Kazdram — 05/27/2021
As Kazdram set his concentration on StageFright, he was unaware of the greed growing in him until it escalated to the point of obsession. The aura became so intense it changed his shimmering pink vibe to hues of yellow; consuming him until he served no other purpose than to capture StageFright in The Experience.

"No, you don't. You're coming with me."

Kazdrams concern for his safety was abandoned, in a few sweeping steps he spun in place, ducking under Stage Frights arms, and sprung up very close to him. As his vibe changed color, the eye finally took shape on StageFrights forehead, it's intensity starting low and gradually rising, burning bright over the both of them. It summoned with it a toothy grin from the musician. One they shared it, the training room around them fell into visual chaos.

Unlike the pleasant, dreamlike scenes Kazdram would craft for his performances, this illusion space was a sensory hell. A visual and auditory nightmare that was not fully formed- all around them was dripping color, mutated shapes, and feedback noises layered over clashing music; distorted songs from the Vendy and Ego Death.

"Come out Harpur. I know you're in there. Don't leave me all alone out here."

The menacing grin was ever present, and the vibe in Kazdrams hands glowed golden instead of pink. The greed was insatiable, he already had StageFright but now it wanted his friend. Kazdram reached out to sink his fingers into the shadowy figure.

StageFright — 05/27/2021
Harpur feels it all tip too far, sees it, too. The world opens up and swallows him whole, dragging him into 'The Experience'.

This is his own doing, but while he is afraid of this realm he feels pride in his role helping Kazdram get there. He supposed greed was a good driving factor when applied rather liberally and forcefully.

Maybe he'd have to remember that.

Kazdram was in his domain now, he moved around Harpur easily. The shadow beast bared his teeth and snarled loudly in Kazdram's face. Too close! get away!

Harpur? he wanted Harpur out here? Those shadows bristled as Kazdram reached inside, parting aggressively from the psychic energy in much the same way they did to light.

They burst away from him and revealed the skin beneath, the shadows peeling back and retreating into him, leaving only Harpur behind.

All he had to work with was greed, he couldn't use disco and he had no ballet shoes. What could he do to make this worthwhile and not a total loss? surely there's something.

Then it hits him, there's one thing he hasn't considered. He swallows dryly and stares at Kazdram there in front of him.

He has to hear it in his head, there's no music but distorted sounds here. He taps his foot...

"You got me runnin', goin' out of my mind, you got me thinkin' that i'm wastin' my time"

His eyes seem to shimmer with StageFright's white light as he looks up.

"Don't bring me down, no no no no no! Oooh ooh hoo! I'll tell you once more, before I get off the floor, don't bring me down!"

He's singing, grinning brightly. No one can hear them in here right? A burst of joyful compassion radiates from him, the greed is abandoned in favor. If successful this weak but growing version of his aura would compel Kazdram to feel compassionate towards his surroundings, most relevantly Harpur in this moment.

Kazdram — 05/28/2021
The solitary voice of Harpur singing into the discordant noise earned a loud response from Ego Death, which came in exactly in time with the songs driving riff, bringing harmony to the noise.

Kazdrams eyes fluttered wide at Harpur as he was hit with the kick drum and high hat. His yellowed aura melted away once it was dismissed, giving way to the familiar, comforting sensation of compassion that washed over him. But someone like Kazdram didn't even need an aura for this feeling, it was so natural to him, which made it all the more powerful.

Everything about this felt right! The obsession was gone! The eye worked! Kazdrams heart lept at the sound of Harpur actually singing. The happiness Kaz felt for him was written all over his face, eminating from him in shimmering pink facets.

The musician joined right in the song, drawing a circle of molten colors in the air to pluck Ego Death from.

"What happened to the girl I used to know~"
You let your mind out some where down the road~"

They danced together in that mind space, Kazdram jamming out on the cosmic guitar until the song came to an end. The illusion around them disappeared leaving them in the training room, the Vendy still playing a gentle salsa tune.

Kazdram smiled at Harpur still under the compassion aura. He took in a shaky breath to say something, but once his glowing third eye flickered off, he went along with it. Kazdrams lids went heavy and his entire body went slack once his vibe went out, dropping him flat on the ground in a mess of limbs and hair.

Harpur — 05/28/2021
Harpur sang the chorus with him. The touch of a new vibe seems to reach out into the open as they harmonize but it's so brief it's impossible to know what it was. Kazdram falls down and Harpur lunges after him, stumbling to his knees as he catches Kaz before he hits the floor too hard. He smiles back down at Kaz "You did it, Kaz" he tells him even though he can't hear him.

Using his knees to do most of the work he hoists Kazdram up into his arms wedding-style and carries him to the door, pausing to awkwardly bend down and hook his shopping tote over his arm. It's a bit of a walk, but he takes Kaz all the way home because what would Gelato do if it took Kaz a few hours to wake up? rather than pointlessly cram him into a vendy he let him sleep, letting himself into the guys place and making sure to feed and fuss Gelato if the feline decided to grace him with its presence. Kaz is left on the bed, Harpur helps himself to the television in the main room if he can.
