Sara Laiford

Slipping inside the doors, Sara kind of snuck around, unsure if anyone was here or not. She just wanted a place to sleep and rest, while she figured out what to do next. Her progress was slow as she moved along the wall to the right of the door, before coming to a staircase and heading up, figuring that up would be safer.

Chris John

Sneaking inside, he allowed a bit of time to go by after she initially creeped in then followed behind her, still keeping a distance and limiting the noise he made as much as possible. He watched in terror as she reached a staircase. His anxiety reached a maximum and he couldn't do anything beside hide himself from her sight as she made her way upstairs.

Sara Laiford

Sara didn't count the minutes as she moved around the tables and book shelves, just went slow because she had no idea what was going on. Most of the lights here were busted out, leaving shards of glass laying on the carpeted floors and splayed across tables. It hadn't even been a full day since the bombs went off, she thought, it doesn't seem like it happened. But she had relaxed a bit and was moving along faster, not hiding so much when she suddenly tripped and a quick scream was torn from her lips. Scrambling backwards in an really odd crabwalk, she ran into a table and stayed there with her face covered, crying harshly as she tried to wipe the blood off of her hands and cover her face at the same time.

The old woman lay on the floor, face first, with a bookcase having fallen on her. She must have bled out or something, she thought, because she was cold, the blood was cold. Sara started trembling even more as she figured out she couldn't get it off her hands or clothes, and her state of shock kept her cowering in fear, even when the first soft sounds of grunts could be heard from the dead woman's head.

Brian Sweetwater

Brian felt stupid as he walked to the library with Ragna and Levin. He was surprised by the state the library was in, but he had an idea, although it was a longshot, and pretty stupid. He went into the fiction section, and began searching for zombie books and comics. If any of what he found panned out, maybe he could help everyone else. He put as many as he could find in a bag, and also looked through the nonfiction section for survival books. This was a long term problem, he had no idea just how long, but very long term. He continued browsing for more reference material.

Lucid

Why his heart was hammering in his throat was beyond him, he was okay now, he had just entered through into the library just seconds after a man with a gun had exited and disappeared up the flight of steps nearby, undenounced to him, and he'd only been within the Library for what, a minute, a minute and a half if even? When he'd hear the door crack its way open once more, swinging on its hinges and alerting the skittish male that he had company now, and he hoped it was a lively commune at that. Slowly peeking around the endcap of the wood section pertaining the tag 'fiction' at the top right corner upon a laminate tag; his slender fingers pressed firm to the wood and his anxious breath clouded the polished wood of the solid shelving. Oh thank God, his muscles untensed and his breath escaped his lips in a moment of relief upon his hazel eyes spotting the very much living survivors entering into the room of books and endless knowledge, and they came straight for the Fiction section too!. "Um.." Lucid cleared his throat as he stepped into view, Binkt the Ferret peering over his shoulder to witness this new interaction and tilting his tiny fluffy head at the group before them. "Please tell me you're friendly survivors..". He'd inquire rather stupidly, for if they'd not be so friendly, he would have just given himself away.

Ragna Thorin

On any other given day before this Zombie virus, Ragna would surely turn to the world of Fiction for perhaps, a book he was writing, if said book and/or story contained any fictional content; Lets be honest though, the last thing he’d write about is Zombies. The Norwegian Blacksmith raised his left brow as he’d just pass by Brian and lift one of the shelves many zombie horror flick comics off the wooden pedestal and flip through the first couple pages. “Zombies are pretty basic, if you’d ask me, but it seems they have many origins, surprisingly…” The male’s right index finger traced down line after line as he’d quick read through the first couple pages with the flimsy comic book rested in his left palm. “A new species of clams that cause the virus, a virus unearthed by human oil fracking in foreign lands, Zombies actually being undead creatures from ancient times used as unkillable guardians of tombs- Oh...and get this..” Ragna scoffed as a smirk would pull across his features, grinning in Brian’s direction. “This origin, a dude caught a flesh eating virus from a womans uncleaned pus-..” He was cut off by Yeltsin announcing he’d be right back, before the small male would scamper off, yet almost immediately being replaced by another smaller man. Damn, how many smol beans were chillen around here? The red head’s gaze landed on the white streaked haired male with a ferret? On his shoulder. “And if we weren’t? Real smart move to just come out like that..” His forest green hues now settled back upon line after line like emerald lazers absorbing all that he could.

Sara Laiford

Scrambling to her hands and knees, Sara quickly crawled away from the noises coming from the cold old woman. Her eyes only stayed open because she was terrified of running into something. Going in circles, she realized she had gotten turned around and didn't know which way to leave, where the stairs were. Figuring out she had no choice, she stood up trying to keep from making to much noise as she looked for the stairs. A soft "Ohh," left her lips as she spotted them and giving up any though of hiding, she ran towards them.

She barreled down the stairs, the blood slowly drying on her hands and face as she turned at the bottom of the stairs. Hearing voices, she took off towards them, thinking only safety in numbers. She skidded to a halt beside a man, nearly stumbling into him as she bent over, breathing hard. The red hair male was talking to another, but her steps caused her to stumble into him. ((She stumbles into Ragna, just for clarification.)) "Help.. there's things on the second floor.. like the radio said."

DM Post

While inside of the library, things were still relatively calm it was outside the library that the situation was growing more tense. Those that looked through the windows and at the campus grounds would be able to see the activity on it, in the shape of about six zombies that roamed around. The zombies seemed to be a bit lost and wandered aimlessly, only a few more that were towards the side of the street moving in a more focused way. Those were drawn towards the noise that was produced in the streets while others were too far too even hear most of it, although some just seemed downright lazy.

One of the zombies walked into a tree and seemed to be extremely surprised that nature had decided to show up in it's way, after which it angrily snarled at the wooden object and clawed at it with all it's might, which did more damage to the zombie than to the tree and ripped some of the zombie's nails out. Another tried to walk over the bridge that crossed the point, only to lose it's balance when venturing too close to the edge and fall into the water. It struggled for a full minute in attempts of getting out but eventually drowned then and there even though the water wasn't deep. It was a clear sign that those that were nearly turned didn't all seem to have the capability of swimming, if any did.
Inside, most of the building was calm and quiet except for a few zombies that shuffled around in the stairway and on the second floor. In total, there were no more than four and they so far hadn't spotted the living that were inside the building as well yet. The only clear sign of zombies near the living was the one woman who had met her demise underneath the bookcase, who now seemed to start moving more and more. In her trapped location and without enough strength to free herself, all she could really do was reach for something close to her and that she did. She reached for the girl who bolted down the stairs and made a sound that was between a growl and a snarl. Of course it was no use as the girl was way out of reach but the zombie tried and continued to try, having the scent of the girl stuck in her nose now.
Ragna Thorson

It had not been a moments peace between his find of this new smaller male with the Ferret standing ever so 'menacingly' upon his shoulder, and the appearance of a new female. Was it his size? His stature? Why is it that people tend to stumble into Ragna? The Red headed Norwegian had barely gotten a hand out between the two as his belly had taken the brunt of the minor collision, barely knocking a fiber out of place with the statue esque nature of this Blacksmith not budging an inch, whilst the woman seemed a bit dazed; Dazed or scared? He would ever so slightly tilt his head as she had stopped to catch her breath, clearly having been running. "Pardon?" The man's right hand reached out in an attempt to make the woman look at him so he could get a look at her face, just out of sheer curiosity, as he did sometimes. "You mean Zombies?..." His gaze flickered between her, the new small lad, and Brian in a silent questioning manner, before the forest green orbs would daze back on the woman. Quickly, yet casually, he'd move his hand from her chin(if she had let him touch her) and his head moved with his inquiring gaze. "They didn't touch you, did they?". His tone was low, not accusatory, but uncertain in nature. If she was infected, she could endanger them all.

Lucid Arsen

Lucid had just the time to gaze between the group of strangers, angling his ahead to a slight left askew and drinking in the already apparent abundance of stark personalities contrasting one another like like water on wet-stone, and noting the semi-abrasive nature of the red head already, whilst the other male had been silent, and a third, a female, had come running in and stumbled, colliding into the chest of the tall Viking. It seemed she hadn't been part of their little group, as she spoke with a 'stranger's tone' one not comfortable with the rest, yet still rushed and worried, warning of the invasive zombies on a higher floor. The Iraqi Science lover had cringed and the hairs on his neck bristled with a sudden fear as he thought the one place he thought of as safe, was in fact now compromised like the rest of the town. "Z-zombies...in here?". Binkt was all over it, his tiny head waving around and his paws clinging to the male's curly-Q locs, getting a sniff of everyone with the rest of his cricket snack in his tiny jowls.

Sara Laiford

Sara nodded as her breath slowed. "Sorry, I got freaked. Ya, upstairs. I could hear them." She frowned slightly at the hand on her face before the hand dropped and she turned to look at the other man. "No, nothing touched me. I'm not such a good fighter, but I'm a really good runner. I don't think it's safe here anymore, not with these things here." She scrubbed her face, thinking having no idea what to do and trying to remember what she had learned about the campus before.. "If y'all are students, would you know if there is a building that can be like locked up? I mean, we could keep them out that way, right?" She asked, her eyes roaming back and forth around the area around them, and as she moved a bit, the hilts of her short swords could be seen sticking out from her bag. "Imma Chef, I don't know anything about this place... Or what the hell to do. I think we need like a locking room or something.." her nerves were frayed, fear making her face pale and her eyes huge as she asked the strangers these questions.

Levin Indrel

What had happened? Levin couldnt really go about recalling the last interaction he had. He remembered staying out of the library while the rest entered, then there was noises and screaming. He dare not enter, his determination from before shattered at the commotion. But, he gathered his courage and went inside. Seeing his group speaking with a shakened woman. His silver/green eyes beheld them a moment before he remembered why the library was so important to him. He ran over to his desk, then reached underneath to grab his backpack. With a relieved sigh, he opened it and inspected the contents inside.

He pulled out his notebook, then he pulled out a few school items. Once he reached the bottom, he pulled out a small picture frame. He stared at it a moment, the faces of his late mother and twin sisters smiled back at him. A small, weak smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, tears began to form. He then hugged the picture, opened the frame and pulled it out and stuffed it in his pocket. He emptied the non essentials out of his bag, closed it then threw it over shoulder before going over to meet the others. He looked at the shakened woman, then gave her a friendly smile, "Hey, I'm Levin. Are.. are you okay?" He asked her, tilting his head some.
Sara Laiford

Sara's hands shook hard as her body reacted to the shock of what was going on. Wet tracks streamed down her face as she looked back and forth, not knowing what to do.

The new voice spoke up, making her jump as she hadn't seen him come over, and his voice was distorted, the roaring in her ears from her blood pulsing in her brain changing how she heard.

Staring for a moment, she just shook her head. "No, god no, I'm not ok.. people are eating people. The.. the.. radio said it was zombies. This can't be real." She was talking fast, her words stumbling as her chest was heaving. "My brother... He's out at his place, a uhmm dog trainer? Oh god..." She lifted her hands and scrubbed her face hard.

"Ok.. ok.. we can't stay like this, right? It's like.. to dangerous. We gotta be in a place that can lock. I mean, that would keep them out right? We'd be safe? Is there someplace like that??" Fear was quickly over taking her, the time of her voice shifting to a higher pitch

Levin Indrel

Levin's eyes immediately widened when the woman began to speak. She was worse off than he thought, "There is, miss and we will get to it. But for now, I implore you to take a few deep breaths. Here-" he slid his backpack from his shoulder and began digging through it. "I used to suffer major anxiety issues." He said as he pulled out a blue bottle, "It's high grade CBD oil. Are you okay taking it? It will help the nerves."

He opened the bottle, squeezing the dropper as it sucked in the golden liquid. "You squeeze it on the bottom of your tongue. It gets to the bloodstream faster that way. Keep it there for a minute then swallow." He informed her, holding out the dropper.
"I promise you're safe with us, and when given a chance we will find your brother, okay?" He gave her a reassuring smile then.
Timeskip of a few hours until the evening - DM Post

After a few moments of getting the girl to calm down, a bit of a nap would do some good. As such, the group headed to one of the offices. The head librarian's office had a couple of couches and some spacious interior to stretch out in, and it had a deadbolt on the door. After entering, the guys would lead the woman to one of the couches, before stepping back. He would then plop on the other couch, while the third locked the door behind them. This should at least let them rest a bit in peace for a bit, as he plopped in a chair and kicked his feet up on the desk. The ferret ran down his leg to the desk, before finding a good spot and curling up for a nap. This would prompt the rest to yawn a bit and settle back, though the girl's sleep would be more from exhaustion due to crying and running rather than boredom or too long awake.
Sara Laiford

Sara crouched behind a desk in an office, the garbled noises coming from only feet away from her making her cringe. She was alone, the others she had been with were gone, she didn't see where they had went or what happened to them. She held a large hard back book as a defense, not trusting that there would be enough room for her to swing the knives or swords she carried. As seconds passed, her muscles getting tenser and her heart beat harder, so hard she was amazed that those things couldn't hear it. But they didn't, or hadn't yet anyway. As the stumbling foot steps moved away from her slowly, she dared to lift her head up for a quick peek before jerking back down just in case. She hadn't seen anything but knew she couldn't stay here, those things were all over the place.

Rubbing a hand over her face, she started to creep around the desk, go really slow and nearly crawling along the floor as she didn't want to be seen. Or heard, she thought as a stack of books feel on the other side of the library. Sudden moaning and groans not far from Sara caused her to freeze and close her eyes, as she dared not look around, knowing she might lose her ability to run. More stumbling noises, another crash and she took off, veering to the same door she had used to come inside before.
