Sasha Kingsley
Sasha and Sadessa rode slowly down main street, neither saying much at this point. "I'm going to stop in at the hardware store... I have a feeling we might need chains and shit." Sasha said, as she pulled up. The doors were closed, but the windows had been blasted out. Picking up the empty back she had set on the seat, she pushed open the door and stepped out. The pistol remained holstered but she kept a hand near it, just in case. Going inside the hardware store, she gathered chains, locks, nails, and even hauled out boards to her truck, refusing to think about the large blood splatter outside the dorms.
Mavis/Grayson
By the time Mavis heard the sound of a truck, they were already inside the hardware store. Mavis pulled Grayson down and hid them in the back of the store behind the counter. She put a finger up to her lips, telling him to be quiet. In this new world, they were in, there was no telling who had walked through the doors of the hardware store, and the entire football team was counting on the two of them to make it back with food and equipment. It could be anyone and Mavis was not going to take any risks, with Grayson with her. She glanced over at the blonde male next to her. His white blood-stained Adidas cut off sweatshirt would definitely be seen if they moved or tried to make a run for it. So, she had to make sure they could get out safely. Mavis turned, getting into a squatting position she glanced over the counter. Her right hand resting on Grayson's shoulder to make sure he stayed in his spot. She was gathering things, luckily it was not the box of food that Mavis had sat near the entrance. While she went to go find Grayson. "Shit, she has a gun," Mavis whispered, glancing over at Grayson, his gun was leaning against the wall over to their left and if either one of them reached for it, they'd be seen. "Stay down, when I make the sound of a whipper will, that's when you get your gun." She told him in a quiet tone and before he was able to deny her idea she was already standing up. Making herself seen to the women who had entered the hardware store. "Excuse me," Mavis spoke up, her native accent noticeable to anyone around this area. Mavis's blue eyes stared at the women, Grayson was staring up at Mavis waiting for her call. Mavis whistled and Grayson moved quickly, grabbing his gun, pointing it in the women's direction. "We just want the box of food, for the team." Grayson nodded towards the box of food near the entrance of the hardware store. (E)
Mavis/Grayson
Mavis and Grayson stood there with the female pointing her gun at them while Grayson pointed his gun at her. Stepping forward and to the side so that Mavis was behind him even though she was the mastermind in their group and he was just the muscle. "Please, we just need the food to feed our group, they've gone a few days without food and we can't get them to leave the gym," Mavis spoke up from behind Grayson, peaking her head out from behind him. "There's about fifteen of us left..." Grayson glanced over at Mavis and took a step to the side, before returning his gaze to the women. "Mav hush, we don't know her." Grayson was now staring ahead of him at the women who was near the entrance. If they did not get that box of food to the team they most likely would not survive, nor ever get out of that damn gym. "We need that food." Grayson took a step forward, but was pulled back by Mavis. Usually, Mavis wasn't so touchy but when there was another person they did not know, Grayson noticed she becomes more physical. Or maybe it was just her warnning him that it was not a good idea to get any closer. (E)
Sadessa Dawn
Reluctance was not the word to use on how Sadessa felt about going with the fiery red head. She hated having to go, but she did because it was in her nature to return what was given and Sasha did save her life. There wasn't a word spoken between the two during the ride to the hardware store. And Dess didnt even say a word when they got there.
She just followed orders, nodding her head to Sasha as she began to gather some resources. She gathered nails, and picked up empty cans. With the two and some gun powder, she could create nail shooting bombs to destroy a while group of Zombies if needed. She gathered saw blades and metal pipes to create bladed bats, as well as other dangerous items to use as weapons.
As she was gathering, her eyes began to clear when noise eas heard. A soundwave indicated they were not alone, so she dropped her bag and whipped out her shotgun.
It was a man and woman, they were both rambling on about food whilst the man was pointing a gun back at them, food Sadessa was not keen on letting go of. She'd happily blow their brains out if they tried something, and she was not one to take being threatened lightly.
"Its a dog eat dog world out there, sweetcheeks." She replied to the woman with the accent, "You just gotta go on ya merry way and find food elsewhere before I turn your boyfriend into wall art." She cocked her shotgun, her mouth parting into a cracked tooth grin.
"Now go on, scoot. Theres plenty of food in this town just gotta find the right people to rob and it ain't us." She added, rubbing her shotgun in a very suggestive manner. (E)
Sasha Kingsley
Sasha stood with the rifle locked on her shoulder, the steadiness of her stance stating she's held a gun like this before. How many could be with her? She though to herself, as she shifted slightly. Shaking her head, she lowered the tip of the gun and said loudly "I'm not after your food, stranger. Point in fact, y'all can't stay in town. It ain't safe." Sasha swung the rifle back over her shoulder by the strap and looked over at the odd chick who rode with her. "We are just here to gather up things to lock down the dorms. There's a couple free floors there, maybe, at least one anyway. You should get your food, your people, supplies, and head that way. There's a bus not far from here y'all can use." Moving away from the box, Sasha blocked the shotgun muzzle and said softly "Killing folks who's only trying to get by is why I left the service. You know Levin, and as weird as you are, staying together makes more fucking sense than killing for a bit of food." Hoping her words got through, Sasha went back outside with her load of stuff and tossed it into the bed of her truck when she heard the soft cries of babies... "Oh no.. is that.." she couldn't bring herself to say it, and just shook her head, trying to pinpoint where the sound was coming from.
Mavis/Grayson
Mavis stepped out from behind Grayson, pushing the barrel of his gun down towards the ground. "I've been watching from the roof, what she speaks of is true. It will be safer by the campus then it is where we are at." Mavis told her tall blonde companion, as she started for the door. Grayson grabbed her hand, stopping her from going any further. "I don't know if we can get them to the campus. Not all of them." Grayson told her truthfully. At this point, the entire football team or what was left of them felt safer within the walls of the gym and are content on riding this out or dying at the gym. Grayson was right, getting the guys out of the gym was going to be hard, that was the reason why they hadn't moved yet. If they couldn't get one or two out the rest of the team would stay behind with those few that wouldn't move. "Thanks for the information," Mavis thanked the two before picking up the box of food, they need to get to the gym to drop this off before going to get the bus. "Come on Gray, we need to go back and give them this and see if we can get them to come out." She told him as she started across the street without any intention to speak with the two women any further then they already had, Grayson followed her nodding to the two women before readying his gun and following Mavis closely behind. Sasha Kingsley
Sasha kept the rifle lowered, the sound of the infant still sounding softly. "Shit," she said, ", where is it coming from?" She tossed her last load into the back of her truck and walked out into the middle of the street. She held the rifle strap tightly, so she could swing it back into her hands if she needed to. Looking back behind her, she assumed the crazy woman could hear her and said "I think it's coming from the pharmacy." Sasha walked slowly towards the front doors, making plenty of noise just in case. She didn't know for sure if the crazy chicka was following her or not, but she stepped into the building anyway and could clearly hear the grumbling of children clearly unhappy or not feeling well. "Hello?" She called out, keeping her hands away from the weapons she carried. "Anyone here?" A vibration from her back pocket had her reaching down to pull out her phone, and seeing the text from Grace, Sasha sighed with relief. Sending one back she said "All good, no worries. Why don't you stay on the first floor, that way, when I get back you can give me a hand?"
Sadessa Dawn
Crying? God the crying.. hurts.. I hurts..
Her mind had fogged out, like her eyes which were glazed over for a moment before they began to frantically flick back and forth. The frequencies of a child's cry only made her vision vibrate, as if she was sitting on a broken washing machine. She blinked, almost too hard, before her vision cleared. Soundwaves rippled, waved over images and objects, people and walls. Bouncing, ever shifting. People were talking, what were they saying?
Words.. words.. all over.. everywhere, all places. It hurts.
She made out some words. They were moving, the people wanted to leave, the red head wanted to find the crying.
Fuck it hurts!! Sadessa softly groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose before shuffling her feet, finding her footing as she walked over to where Sasha was. Leaving the hardware store.
