The Ever Expanse

It had been many if not countless centuries since anything had touched this empty plane of existence. The only thing there was what looked like sleeping woman. She was beautiful and looked delicate. Clearly a goddess since she had not aged. But the only thing was she had no powers no sense of who or what she was. She been sealed here for countless centuries. Sadly she was created incomplete. She had gathered all basic knowledge stored in that plane. But then she was left with nothing but knowledge and after gain all knowledge she could. She even left magnus behind out of confusion and without knowing her role and being powerless. She put herself into a dreaming state not to awaken again. She did not even have a name or anything. What would happen now? Would she ever be whole? Become a real goddess with any importance or will She simply stay asleep forever?

Moments more was her loneliness, as suddenly to figures appeared, one was almost formless, a shape, or lack thereof. Beside it loomed a metallic entity with the form of a man. "So this is what you did to her." Muttered Magnus with the sound of spite in his words.

Pi let out a hum that rang through the void, "To be accurate I didn't do this to her I..." Magnus' ruby eyes shot and the metal folds of his eyelids squinted at Pi's form with anger, "...you are right, thank you, Magnus. It is time I stopped making excuses and righted my wrongs." A blank form reached out and enveloped her and moments later she was laid across a soft bed. Pi now taking on a more euclidean form.

Then he reached out with his golden appendages and gently tapped her forehead sending a shockwave through her. "Awaken my dear from your slumber."

She woke up and her eyes adjusted as was years sense she been awake. “ what happened where am I?” She looked at magnus. “ why are you here? “ there was a lot of confusing. She looked at her hands. “ why you wake me up?” She asked and was very puzzled at the bed and looked at this. “ I don’t recall this being here.”

She took a moment and realized Pi was there. Her eyes narrowed and she glared at him. “ why did you wake me? Why care now after you abandoned me?”

Magnus sat down next to her and smiled with a look close to concern, "Calm down I apologize to have startled you but you are safe I promise." He grimaced a little as she asked why she had been awoken, "I believe its best he explain that."

Pi hovered there, silent momentarily, "I was selfish and irresponsible to have abandoned you there, the way I did. I have no excuses, just the hope you'll be one day able to forgive me for my mistakes."

“ i might if you explain why your here and what you want.” She still felt incomplete. Due to that she was sore and very weak and in a fragile state. She looked at Magnus and then at Pi. She sighed trying to process all of this. She nodded. “ please tell me what going on and why your here. What do you want?” She asked calmly.

Pi hummed, "Yes I should explain. I am trying to bring life to the Ever Expanse. As an attempt to shed my past behavior and expand myself in a sense."

He floated to the end of the bed while Magnus continued for him, "He is creating a pantheon for the Expanse and he wanted you to join the pantheon." He looked at Pi, "He just started to bring you to your full power, he's going slowly though as to not overwhelm you." She did feel strength coming to her, like a tingling spreading out, but sure enough it was very slowly.

“ why bring out a Pantheon if you could rule it yourself.” The power felt strange as she was not use to it. She liked the power. But not sure what to do with it or why he giving this to her. “ why choose me? Why you don't need me. I’m not important or anything. I don’t even have a name.” She said calmly as a tear fell from eyes as she felt conflicted if she should trust them?

Magnus grimaced seeing her tears and hesitated before hugging her. Pi spoke, "Because despite all my power I am without much of a soul, but you and Magnus, and maybe others do, you have creativity and ambition while I simply create for no honest reason, you have morals while I need to be guided in a way to understand such things."

She hugged Magnus back. “ what purpose do I serve in it? I don’t recall my name or if I had one and I don’t understand my powers.. so I don’t think I can be of much help.” She said. She clearly trusted Magnus and calmed down with him around. She sighed and gathered her thoughts. It was natural she ask questions after sleeping for who knew how long. She rubbed her head.

Pi smiled and rubbed his hand-like things, "Well, you'd serve as a god of fate I thought it would be most fitting." He seemed excited but it was hard to tell when he had no facial expressions.

Magnus patted her back, "Sorry he's a little insensitive, were working on it. And don't worry about that yet, I didn't understand mine at first but we can work on it, I can help you.

“ fate? What so cool about fate or what the importance of it? Cause don’t your choices affect fate?” She asked as she stood up. She was unsure of what to think of Pi? She wanted to test her powers. But sadly she did not understand what fate or destiny was or how it related to powers.

“ what my powers?” She asked.

Magnus regarded what she said, "She has a good point. I'm not sure I understand myself."

Pi hummed, "Fate is... a difficult concept to comprehend, think of it as a river flowing down from a snowy mountain top. The choices made are like rocks falling in changing the course of the river but a single rock can only change the river by a small amount, even if you damn the river up with thousands of rocks the water will still reach the sea. There are some events that are just inevitable. But even then that's not entirely accurate, I assure you in time you will come to understand." Magnus sat silent having trouble understanding the entities explination.

She sighed “ sounds like I’m useless and pointless” She looked sad. “ how does it suit me?” She asks. “ what will my job be?” She asks as the power grew and she started messing with her powers. Though they made little sense and Pi was making her more confused and tried her power and summoned a orb. “ what are these strings?” She noticed one was linked to magnus. “ strings of fate maybe?” She was unsure what to do with all the information entering her.
