No.. No! Stop!
She felt like she couldn't breathe, gasping and gulping for air as she seemed to fall through nothing. Flailing, grasping for anything that wasn't actually there, Ryan desperately attempted to orient herself in the crackling field of chaos and energy. Was she really falling? Honestly she had no idea, but it sure felt like it as the panic seized in her chest. If she was falling then she was truly in danger and she knew it- Her body knew it.
Vines began to snake along her flesh, wrapping and winding.. Entwining themselves together around her body to encase her. A cushion, a womb of plant life to soften her landing which came far sooner than she ever could have expected yet still felt like it took an eternity. It was softer than she had initially expected as well- A good punch to the ground with her body hard enough to wind her, the vines around her contracting and releasing as she hit. They hugged her, cradling her form until she began to stir before falling away to lay limp on the ground around her.
Ryan rose, staggering shakily to her feet in her vintage T-Strap heels, her black pencil skirt and her snug, tucked in, purple blouse with cap sleeves were somewhere torn, one sleeve limp and lacking the fill out of her other sleeve.. As she spun around to inspect her surroundings it became clear that her sleeve was limp because there was no arm inside of it.. And her other arm? Well, it was green... In fact.. Other than her fiery red lips and disheveled red hair to match, all of her seemed to be green! Not to mention confused from the apparent look on her paling face, which had gone a nice yellow-green in comparison to the rest of her. Frantic in her panic she was certainly having trouble taking everything in- Buildings, streets, the usual.. But it wasn't familiar, not one bit..
But there, in the distance, trees. Sweet familiar trees.. If nothing else, there was nature to turn to. Unsure of what else to do she staggered in that direction, oblivious to the bewilderment of any witnesses who could be watching..

The sensation of falling wasn't something she was expecting, and apparently wasn't prepared for, as the lack of a parachute indicated to her. Why had she gone skydiving without one, she thought as she hurdled down, aligning herself so she could see the ground. She thought about her predicament, and how she would stop herself from becoming a street pancake. Her illusions could become strong enough to hold, but her usuals were ones that she wouldn't want to be caught by them. I mean; a man with blades for hands, and a man carrying a chainsaw? No, for this, she needed to think outside the box. What flew and could catch her? AN ANGEL!
She focused on what she was taught to do, clearing her mind and focusing on the image she had to make, remembering what her father had taught her. In her mind, the shape of the angel formed, two feathery wings, and a body in the shape of her father. Next moment in the real world, that figure appears, the arms held out as Evelyn landed in them. Her own arms wrapped around the conjurations neck, her head resting on his shoulder, as she remembered all the times she was carried by her father.
--
The memories were conjured when she noticed the woman falling from the sky, the mass of green cushioned the damage she took. Evelyn had been on her way home, when she and seen the falling woman, who made her think of Star Trek for a moment. Her bus had been loading, but she could always take the next, she thought, before running off away from the bus, hearing the call of, "Young people these days!"
When Evelyn reached the woman, she immediately asked, "How you okay, miss?" Eve continued to approach the woman, as she said, "Nice quick thinking," as she reached out to for one of the woman's arms, "here, I can help you." If the woman accepted her help, Eve would slide herself under the woman's arm, and pull some of Ryan's weight unto herself.

Dizzy.. So dizzy. The woman staggered a little as she tried to get her bearings, shaking off the discomfort and nausea on her trek towards the trees in the distance. This street wasn't familiar.. But it was more than the fact that it looked like nothing she recognized. It felt different. The plants in the window sills, the roots reaching beneath the streets, the leaves rustling in the distance. Everything felt wrong.
Distracted by her thoughts she didn't see the woman approach her until she felt fingers brush against her only arm, twisting to grab the woman's wrist quite firmly if she was able to get hold of it. Limp sleeve on the other side suddenly began to fill, a bundle of vines intertwined together in the vague shape of an arm crept quickly out from the nothing inside her sleeve, drawn back as if ready to strike if prompted. This wasn't right.. So who knew what was going to happen to her?
"Where am I?!" The woman practically bellowed it, squeezing the wrist she hopefully had hold of until she was able to take a proper moment to take in the situation. The girl seemed.. Kind. So far at least. She certainly did seem to be trying to help Ryan decided, leading her to slowly release her grip on her, holding her own hand up in a gesture of apology, indicating that she meant no harm. She was still trembling, though she seemed less discombobulated than she had been a few moments before.
Teeth grit together, grinding against the anxiety welling in her chest . "Where am I. And how did I get here."

A glance to the lack of an arm shocked her, as she noticed the vines moving and being shaped like an arm. "That is pretty cool, ma'am, that what you did to soften your landing?" she asked, feeling her wrist being grabbed. She tried to be as comforting as possible, keeping her voice calm, and not taking any motions that would be seen as aggressive. The only thing that Eve did, was talk, offering the woman a chance to know Eve and trust her to help.
Eve winced at the bellow and the squeeze of her wrist, but only could shrug since the woman had pressure on the wrist. The girl was relieved when the woman seemed to relax, feeling that she did something right and she helped.
"What I can tell you, is that you're in Seattle, the rest is a bit..." she smiled as she remembered one of her favourite televisions, "wibbly wobbly timey wimey. Meaning, No earthly clue."
The ginger-haired youth was still very concerned for the woman, glancing around, before she asked, "Can I help you get to a place to sit? Somewhere to rest? Your fall seemed better than it could have been, but it looks like you could still use a moment."

Ryan took a small step back to look around a little better as the young woman spoke, her lips pursing lightly as clenched and relaxed her fist. She could see people stopping to stare and whisper, darting her hand up in an attempt to smooth out her disheveled hair. Fifteen minutes ago she had been backstage getting her models ready for the runway and... Now this.
A heavy sigh pushed it's way out past those vivid red lips as she began to take her hair out of the trashed victory rolls so she could at least smooth it into something acceptable, a bit of a murmur coming out just loud enough to be heard. "Wibbly wobbly timey wimey huh? I guess I blinked.." She practically snorted in spite of herself, mildly proud of her own pop culture reference before she suddenly began to walk again, glancing back at the girl so long as she chose to follow. "Seattle.. What year? This isn't right. I can feel it."
Her gaze shifted back towards the trees in the distance, practically itching to get near something even remotely familiar. "Wibbly wobbly timey wimey isn't exactly informative. Do you have any idea what the hell happened to me?"

The girl seemed to brighten when her reference was responded to another of the same show, her lips spreading in a grin. Her head checked out the surrounding populace, seeing the gawking at the new person. Her face reddened when the woman said that her doctor who references wasn't helpful. "So from what I've seen, this timeline as been seeing an influx of people from other timelines, cause of this Collision incident."
Her head glanced over to the trees that the woman kept looking at, before looking at the people that were still watching them. "We should move to somewhere before the gawkers call the feds." She thought about her dream of being a fed, and part of her felt heavy. Could she still get in? She shook those thoughts off, and continued, "speaking of which, make sure you deal with S.H.I.E.L.D."

Ryan paused, turning to stare at the girl. "...Collision incident?" She was silent a moment, quietly taking in what the concept of that before turning on her heel and marching her way towards the entrance of of the Botanical Gardens ahead of her. Her stride lengthened, increasing her speed until she was almost at a job the closer she got to the park. "Last thing I remember I was backstage getting the models ready, and the world was normal. Well, as normal as can be at least.. This world? This isn't normal.."
As she stepped into the park it was as if a weight had visibly been taken from her shoulders, her posture lifting and the tension fell away from her face. The woman stopped to rest her hand against a tree, fingers tracing along the creases in the bark while she took the time breathe in that fresh air. "When am I, exactly? And who are you?" Her head turned back towards the woman, looking considerably more relaxed and the proper green beginning to return to her face. "I'm Ryan and this isn't my world is it."

Eve watched the woman take in the information, regretting how she had relayed the information that the woman needed to know. Was she doing this right? OH! She was moving-- the young woman followed after the plant lady, speeding her pace to catch up, to hear the woman's remarks.
"Yeah, I know what you mean, like," she replied looking down at her feet, "I was going to school to get a degree, and then apply to Quantico, but the agent that helped me and my dad said that he could see what he could do to help in that regard." Eve's gaze lifted and watched the woman, moving in front of the woman, and added, "they can help you too."
At the question of when, she offered a smile, and said, "early in the spookiest month of the year! October third, 2020, and my name is Evelyn Drake. It's nice to meet you, and welcome to this new timeline."

Ryan practically twitched, looking more and more displeased the longer the girl went on. Manicured nails dug into the bark of the tree beneath them, the bark beginning to peel and flake. Above them vibrant leaves began to wither, curling and blackening among the vivid foliage of the trees still surrounding them. The grass beneath them began to yellow. Withering, drying, wasting away before their eyes.
The mention of agents and help seemed to bring the woman back down to earth a little, narrowing her gaze somewhat as she listened. "It's nice to meet you Evelyn, but the help that I want is to get back home.. To my life." She scoffed, leaning back against the tree only to glance up and heave a heavy sigh as she realized what she had done. Jade eyes drifted closed as she tilted her head back, leaves beginning to unfurl ever so slightly, bark and foliage beginning to get back the look of hydration that they had lost. By the time she was done the tree seemed alive again.. Not healthy to the level it had been, but perhaps alive enough to survive and grow back to it's former glory. "Wrong time, wrong world.."
"Well fuck."

The young woman turned silent as a lamb for a moment, as her hazel eyes noticed the flakes of bark, the withered leaves, and the grass under them. Crap! Evelyn could tell that the woman was distressed, and she didn't need her father's ability to do so. Her expression lost its upbeat attitude until the woman responded. "I think we all would like to get back to our own lives," she started, as she stepped a little closer to the tree, making a pretence of inspecting the tree's irregular behavior, "but we'll all have to wait on that part. Folks have to figure out how this all happened before they can mess about with it and help us get back."
The marvelous sight of the color returning to the surrounding greenery caused Eve's mouth to fall open, awed by it. Her head turned to look at the woman as she did it, before she focused on it. "That's totally cool," she remarked, "totally need you to fight climate change!"

Ryan dropped her hand back down to her side for the safety of the trees around her, her fist clenching repeatedly as a form of focus to ground her mind to the situation. She sighed again, beginning to brush off the dirt and debris she was finally beginning to notice had clung to her during her little debacle of an arrival. Unsure of what else to do she began to walk again, though this time at a more leisurely pace through the memorial park.
"So.. What exactly am I supposed to do then? Just.. Bum around the city until the figure it out or what?" She knew it wasn't the girl's fault but she couldn't help feeling bitter, though she tried her best not to let it come out in her tone towards Evelyn. She'd managed to build a life back home. It was a long time coming and had been hard won.. She was pleased with her life there. Here.. What was there for her here? Starting over from scratch, all the way back at the beginning? It sounded exhausting. She looked exhausted at this point. "This park. Will they kick me out if I stay here?"

Eve knew to tat the woman was just starting her deal with the situation she was in, so she tried not to take the woman's tone as an attack. It hurt, yes, but Eve didn't hold anyone at fault. When Ryan started to walk, Eve walked along with her, ready to offer help and advice. Get Ryan through the situation. What was it she should do?
"I'd call S.H.I.E.L.D, " she'd offer before she pursed her lips. "I can give you the number that you need to talk to them, and get you set up with a temporary place." A hand slipped into her pocket and pulled out her smartphone, in which she started to search through her contacts. She paused at looked at Ryan when she posed her question. An odd request, but the connection between the woman and nature was noticed. "I'm honestly unsure. I don't think they'd mind..." was Seattle one of those places that targetted homelessness? she thought about it, as she found the number she was looking for, but on the way of showing it, she'd pause. Her bag was slipped from her shoulders, and she search it, until she pulled a notebook out, and she scrawl out the number and her own on a piece of paper. The parchment would be torn out, and offered to the woman, as she said, "here it is, and my number too!"

Ryan's eyes flitted down to the paper the girl had drawn out, her lips pursing in thought. Evelyn wanted her to call a government agency? For real? She had a hard time picturing any universe where calling the government as a mutant would actually, truly, end well. Not wanting to be rude to someone who had been so kind she reached out and took the slip of paper, gripping it between her fingers loosely.. Her skirt had no pockets- She'd yet to design good pockets for a pencil skirt.
"Calling people may be difficult Evelyn, my phone isn't exactly in the right universe." She murmured it lightly, putting the slip in the only safe place she had- Down her bra. "You really want me to call the government?" Skeptical was an understatement it seemed, because Ryan's expression practically screamed with distrust. Beginning to lean back she lowered herself into a sitting position, only to be caught gently by a massive leaf that had grown from within a large patch of shrubbery to cradle her form. "Thank you for your help Evelyn, I'm sorry if I derailed your day.. I think I'm going to rest here a while, and I'll decide what to do from there. But thank you again, really.. And I'll call you to check in if you like." She managed a bit of a smile at the young woman as more leaves enveloped themselves around her, almost forming a cocoon of sorts. Only once Evelyn was gone, if she did choose to leave, would the cocoon pull back into the shrubbery to be hidden from view to allow her to rest in peace and safety.
