Though for many billions of years, these universes have always been close, yet unknown to the others. Legends circulated that realms beyond what they knew have always existed, in the form of a number of different afterlives. Some viewed these realms as a veritable paradise where the virtuous would live in peace and harmony until the end of time, some viewed these realms as places where the wicked and undesirables would rot for their sins, though none of them were aware that these legends would turn out to be nothing more than folklore. The Aegimius Universe, home to innumerable galaxies; most notably the Milky Way, Andromeda, and Whirlpool galaxies. This beautiful universe is home to a wide range of planets and stars, many of them teeming with a wide diversity of life; ranging from simple, single-celled organisms roaming about primordial oceans to more complex species with empires spanning numerous solar systems. It is often nicknamed the Universe of Reflections as there are innumerable duplicates of the many structures that make up the Aegimius Universe. Earth, for example, has numerous copies existing within the Milky Way Galaxy, though technological limitations have prevented these Mirrored Earths from contacting the other. For many long years, scientists on our Earth have pondered whether or not their Earth was the only one that could sustain life, or if there was anything beyond their universe. Intense research and study has thus far turned up nothing, but fortunately, their efforts won't be in vain. Beyond Earth, the Solar System, and even beyond the Milky Way, the Aegimius Universe is teeming with life.

Within the Milky Way Galaxy, there exists a trio of highly advanced humans; the Dusk Space Federation, Dawn Space Corps, and the Intersolar Colonists, each originating from the James R. Parr System, or better known as PARR-1859. This system is strikingly similar to our own solar system in nearly every way. Eight planets, a star, innumerable moons, and many astronomical bodies sitting roughly 84,000 light years from our own solar system. Unlike ours, this solar system is approaching the end of its life cycle with its parent star slowly transitioning into the red giant phase. As the star approached its demise, temperatures on this doppelganger Earth began to rise, threatening all life on the surface. With little option, international bodies agreed that leaving Earth, and potentially the solar system itself was the best option if they wished to carry on with their existence. Two groups, led by the United States, Argentina, Germany, Egypt, India, and Australia had formed an astronomical exploration group known as the Interstellar Earth Alliance with the goal being the development of a massive fleet of powerful ships that would help the humans of Earth carry on humanity's legacy elsewhere in the solar system. As the ships were being commissioned, astronomical groups from around the world were scouring the stars for possible systems to colonize and establish permanent settlements from beyond the sun's limits.

After years and years of intense research, the Midwestern Astronomical Institution in Salina, Kansas had pinpointed two possible solar systems. The first nicknamed the Charles Robinson System, or better known as KS-1291861; a small system of seven planets roughly 12,000 light years away and the other, then known as the Dwight D. Eisenhower System or the KS-1201953, another small system with eight planets, roughly 27,000 light years away. Both star systems were considered to be prime candidates for colonizations, but at the time, considering the enormous distance between the two systems, it would've been impossible to use both of them as potential colonies, so to get around, the Interstellar Earth Alliance would split into two factions; the Dawn Space Corps and the Dusk Space Corps, each being assigned to one of these systems. Representatives from the six lead nations of the alliance were elected to lead each faction. Unfortunately for the people of this mirrored Earth, not everyone was able to join the fleets in spite of the massive sizes of the many ships that made up the groups. Though controversial, the only ones brought aboard were those who were able to effectively contribute to society. Able-bodied workers, respected and renowned scientists, historians, doctors, and many other researchers, influential and beloved politicians were all welcomed aboard while many corporations were able to buy their way onto the ships, another decision that proved controversial, though there wasn't much that could be done about it.

With the fleets finally ready, the people would be ushered aboard and the founding Fleet Commanders would give each other their final, in-person farewells before boarding the ships. As the two fleets left their dying planet, the remaining humans would scramble to try and figure out what to do. They weren't ready to die, yet considered undesirable and useless to the advancement and survival of humanity. Over the next couple of centuries, they'd build their own fleet of ships, though not nearly as impressive as the fleets of the IEA, they were enough to help many of the remaining Earthlings leave the planet's surface, the only ones who would remain behind were the ones who refused to board the ships for one reason or another. They would focus on colonizing the outer solar system, focusing on the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, becoming known as the Intersolar Colonists. Communications between the factions were limited and nearly 6,000 years into the journey, the Dawn Space Corps and Dusk Space Corps would lose communication between the other for good, while it wouldn't be for another 3,000 years before the Intersolar Colonists would lose all connections with the IEA. This would properly begin humanity's expansion throughout the Milky Way Galaxy.

Despite the many long years that these factions have been traveling, none of them have become aware of their mirrored Earth and the other faction of humans living upon the planet we know and love today, though the Dusk Space Corps, now known as the Dusk Space Federation are inching ever closer to our Earth. Shortly after arriving in system Robinson, the Dawn Space Corps had gotten to work researching and studying the planets, finding that three of the seven harbored life, though none of them had advanced beyond an early Stone Age-like period, while the remaining planets and moons boasted a near endless supply of valuable resources. The group wasted little time setting up mining colonies on the various rocky moons and planets, aiming to take advantage of these resources to repair and build new ships.

Fast forward many more generations and the Dusk Space Corps have finally arrived in system Eisenhower, and much like their counterparts, they had quickly gotten to work on properly studying and colonizing the system, though they took a different approach. Their colonization of Eisenhower was quick and efficient, but they wouldn't stop there and had begun to explore other, nearby systems in the hopes of forming a large, interstellar empire that would be known as the Dusk Space Federation. Over the years, this Empire of theirs would span seven major solar systems, each of them with life-harboring planets and two minor solar systems, both lifeless. The major systems would be named; Kennedy, Truman, Roosevelt, Obama, Lincoln, Jefferson, and of course, Eisenhower with system Kennedy serving as the federation's capital system, while the two minor systems are simply known as DSF-001 and DSF-002, both being used for mining and resource gathering. Even with the seven system that spans roughly 1,500 light years across, they weren't finished yet, they were still seeking to expand their influence even further.

In between their arrival of system Eisenhower and their subsequent colonization of the Obama and Jefferson systems, some internal turmoil hit the Federation with a group of criminals successfully hijacking one of the fleet's major ships and ultimately getting away with it. In most circumstances, they would've gone after the thieves, but the chase was called off after they left Eisenhower, with officials believing that they likely wouldn't pose a threat nor would be returning soon. The rocky bodies of Eisenhower had more than enough resources to make up for the loss of one ship. This group of criminals would become known as the Eisenhower Bandits, with the ship they stole being cut off from the rest of the fleet less than a decade later. To this day, no one knows why they had stolen the ship, though the most plausible theory is they were attempting to escape their prison sentences and with their combined numbers, they were able to overpower the guards and officers watching over one of the many prison ships of the Federation. They weren't sure where they were going, but after aimlessly drifting in one direction for what seemed to be an eternity, they would wind up crashing on the surface of what seemed to be another mirrored Earth. After landing, they'd begin to work on making the best of what they could, setting up the first human settlements on a planet that would eventually be known as Majoria, with them setting up the first city in what would be known as the Horizon Island, just one of the many islands making up the present United Icarus Islands. After leaving the island, they'd find that this planet was far from empty and was met with a number of strange humanoid races, many of which could shapeshift into animals.

This would give rise to the diverse population and the many countries that now call Majoria home, with the humans doing well enough to become the majority race on the planet. For the next five thousand years, things remained relatively quiet. The Federation continued expanding and colonizing new planets, the Dawn Space Corps had successfully colonized the Charles Robinson System by this point, and humanity on our Earth had finally reached the Bronze Age. It was around this time, a group from beyond the Milky Way Galaxy would make their arrival, calling themselves the Laniakea Administration, a massive and powerful organization that had colonized over 1000 solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy and had begun to expand beyond their galaxy's reaches. Coincidentally, the majority of the Laniakea were humans much like the folks on Earth. Their first stop was in our solar system where they'd take on more of a background role and watched as the Earth developed.

They were shocked to see that this planet was almost exactly like their own; civilizations and structures, the continents and chemical makeup, everything was a carbon copy of their homeworld. Interested to see how the nations of this Earth would grow, the Laniakea would quietly watch and would await for the right time to properly reveal themselves to the humans.

For the next few thousand years, things would be relatively stable; the Federation had grown to ten systems with the addition of system Cleveland, the Dawn Space Corps would successfully terraform several moons in their respective system while the Laniakea continued to monitor our Earth. It's unknown what had happened to the Intersolar Colonists by this time, but they've mostly been forgotten by the Dusk Space Federation and Dawn Space Corps. In spite of the amazing technology and intelligence these groups boasted, none could've been prepared for what would happen next.

Though the concept of the multiverse has been around for as long as science has, it's largely been agreed that the idea of a universe beyond our own is nothing more than a myth, a mere fantasy. However, they couldn't be more wrong on the subject. Our universe is just one of an infinite number of universes; a universe where beloved fictional characters call it home, a universe where Hillary Clinton won the election over Donald Trump, a universe where the United States never gained its independence, a universe where the IEA never left their solar system, among many, many others. Every single scenario and idea that has ever propped up in someone's mind exists in a universe far beyond them, though up until recently, these universes would never meet. They were always so close, yet always so far away. This was until the actions of a group known as the Eridani Administration, a highly advanced organization who's technology would make the Laniakea look primitive in comparison. For many thousands of years, they effectively ruled over the vast majority of their universe, subjugating over 3,000 galaxies, countless solar systems, and innumerable planets. Even with everything they had controlled, it wasn't enough. It was far from enough for them, the Eridani saw themselves as perfect, limitless humans who wanted nothing more to prove that there was nothing beyond their reaches.

This would lead them to study the possibility of the multiverse and after many thousands of years, they would be successful in doing what many thought was impossible; discovering the existence of universes beyond their own. Naturally, their next move was to try and enter our universe, but in order to open a hole between the Eridani and the Aegimius Universes, an incredible amount of energy would be required. Fast forward another couple thousand years and the energy harvesting machine they required would be ready; this monstrosity of a machine would absorb the energy and effectively destroy over 400 galaxies that made up the Eridani Administration. This would leave behind a massive, lifeless void known simply as the Void of Darkness. Everything that had lived within the galaxies had perished, it was an area where no light could be seen, no warmth could ever reach again. Fortunately for the group, the sacrifice wasn't in vain and they had opened up a massive wormhole, though with unforeseen consequences.

The opening of the wormhole would cause a massive energy surge that ripped across the Aegimius universe, this would eventually be what kickstarted the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, both of them growing extremely concerned with the unexplained spikes in energy detected by their primitive computers, with them growing even more confused when they discovered this surge originated from far beyond their solar system. The Dusk Space Federation and Dawn Space Corps were equally concerned, as never before had such a spike in energy been detected; the surge was even more energetic than the universe's most intense hypernova. Fortunately, the energy surges did little to disrupt daily life, as no one was killed or seriously injured as a result. The Laniakea was highly concerned and they had launched an investigation into what caused it, pinpointing the origins towards the outer edges of the Whirlpool Galaxy nearly 23 million light years away. The arrival of the Eridani caused a bit of ripple effect with surges of energy randomly occurring throughout the energy, some of them being very minor, almost invisible spikes while others have proven to be considerably more dangerous; some energy spikes have been massive enough to rip smaller holes throughout both universes, occasionally even displacing unfortunate lifeforms from their homeland. Scientists across the Aegimius universe are hard at trying to discover the cause of this and if there's any possible solution. Fortunately, these random holes haven't caused widespread destruction yet, but it's only a matter of time.

The Eridani, however, while proud of the fact that they were able to reach this new universe, had theorized that they hadn't just opened a wormhole, but rather their experiment caused the two universes to collide with each other, being the reason for these random holes popping up. The two universes are attempting to merge with each other as a result of what they call the Collision. Though the urge to study this new universe is hard to fight off, the Eridani are working to figure out if the merger can either be stopped or if there's a way to ensure that the merger will be done safely. They sacrificed countless lives in their old universe and they wanted to try and prevent more needless deaths. The Administration developed several fleets to travel towards nearby galaxies to monitor energy levels; one group was sent to watch over the Milky Way Galaxy where thus far, things have remained mostly stable. Today, the merger is ongoing and the natives of the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies are baffled as to what they can do about these random energy spikes, though otherwise, life has continued as normal. Unknown to the Eridani, a third universe is attempting to merge with the Aegimius as a result of their experiment, though so far, life from the Faindana universe hasn't revealed themselves.
