Empress Letu was never meant to rule—her marriage to Octavius was purely political, orchestrated by the High Council after the death of Rhea. Octavius did not wish to remarry, but was pressured into the union for the sake of stability. Unlike Rhea, Letu does not have the love of the people, but she commands respect through her work ethic and political maneuvering. With Prince Aidoneus rejecting Rosaline, some nobles whisper that Apollonis may be a more viable heir.
