The World of Gods Spirits Beast and Men
Chapter 4 The Big Gods
Beings of incomprehensible power, their mere presence to mortals corrupts flesh and mind. Creatures of pure magic, they know not age, nor illness nor death. Their very forms cannot be perceived by mundane eyes, and they speak with a tongue that drives men insane. The Gods are an enigma, all we know of them originated through the twisted lips of addled priests, whose minds and body long ago were mutated by the very beings they devote their lives to.
Seven great Gods are worshipped throughout the continent of Altaire. You cannot deny their existence. It is as certain as Spirit or Beast. One makes themselves known. You, or some friend or a passing acquaintance a has surely lain eyes upon them. The question is not whether one believes but if and how they choose to worship such a being. Poor and rich, wise and foolish alike choose to be faithful and many cornerstones of Alt civilisation are built upon worship of these seven Gods.
There is an image of a horrible figure, its skin warped, bulging and melting. It is dressed in an ornate white robe, its hands pressed together in prayer while gold light shines down upon it. The caption reads: A priest of the Seven Gods.
