It is night, Barame and his father are in front of a warehouse. His father is pulling Barame along by his wrist.
Narration: My dad thought we were too alike.
Money and a betting slip exchange hands.
Barame and his father stand behind a chain-link fence, they are surrounded by dozens of other cheering men. There are loud barking and snarling sounds.
Narration: It was time for me to become a man.
Two dogs snap and bark at each other. They are surrounded by blood.
Narration: And on my tenth birthday he took me to a dog fight.
