    Highgate, also known the City of Discovery, sits atop a series of pearly white cliffs by the sea known as the Sleeping Waters. It is an easily accessible place by waters as they are relatively calm, undisturbed by heavy storms or disproportionate wildlife. The city itself has had a very rocky past with tyrannical leaders power hungry nations laying claim to it due to its defensible position. For the last century or so Highgate was not a pleasant place to live, but all that changed when its citizens banded together.

    After the populace fought back against their overlord, Highgate became an independent democracy. Under its chosen leaders the city flourished! Commerce and reforms helped the city grow and expand rapidly. Despite some of the long living races still remembering the dark days of the past, Highgate's transformation was so seamless that there were barely any signs of its less than stellar history left to witness. Most folks consider this to be a city reborn, and as such, the very culture of Highgate is young and impressionable.

    Do not mistake that for weakness, however. Highgate's citizens are wary of anyone trying to oppress them and take swift action against anyone who would dare terrorize them once more.

    Foreign powers are noticing the rise and prosperity of this once unremarkable port. Powerful people want a slice of this pie and have sent foreign dignitaries to offer aid and growth. Whether these powers are doing so out of the kindness of their hearts or more insidious motives, the results are undeniable; they have an effect on the city's culture. As it was outsiders who brought them their freedom, the culture within Highgate is very accepting towards refugees and people wanting to integrate. This is very much a city trying to find its footing and identity.

    What role will you have to play here? Will you be a one of the city's revolutionary heroes? Will you explore the untamed wilds beyond the walls? Are your motives more sinister, or are you here to become rich through whatever means possible?

    Whatever your role, these are interesting times we're living in. Those who want to make a name for themselves will find ample opportunity in the days to come.

  • OOC Rules

    1. No antagonizing members of the group.
    2. No slurs of any kind. This includes the word "trap."
    3. 18+ only, both OOC and IC. If we suspect a player of lying about their age, we will report them to RPR.
    4. New characters must post a character sheet before starting RP.
    5. Businesses and organizations are semi-limited to drive RP towards existing ones. You can apply for new ones on this forum.
    6. Adult content is to be expected, and may pop up anywhere.
    7. Keep in mind that IC and OOC do not overlap. Do not confuse any in character events as a reflection of the writer's feelings about you.
    8. Do not harass anyone. There is a zero tolerance policy in play. If we see anyone harassing anyone for whatever reason, they will be banned immediately.
