Seeking assistance with bounties.

You must have some skill with weapons and be able to feed yourself and possibly me as well. Darkness, caves, and insane cultists and monsters should not be a problem, if they are then this is not the career for you. You should be able to swim and ride a horse. I'm looking for someone fit and healthy as the work can be challenging and also very dangerous.

Payment. 2 silver per day + 1/4 of bounties. If we're in a town or city, the employment contract covers food and lodging.
Ilidre is a witch hunter who focuses mainly on infiltrating cults and killing their leaders. He's been working alone for several decades, but after being badly wounded in an encounter a few months ago, he's reluctantly decided to hire a capable person to help him. How capable that person will be, remains to be seen.

A human female or male would be suitable. Young but over the age of 20. Possibly in need of the money. This will begin in The City, so they could be border impoverished. I'm open to other suggestions but it needs to be feasible. I'm not accepting bards and this is not comparable to The Witcher. Ilidre doesn't keep commenting on the weather in a gravelly voice, he just relies on his skill and weapons. He's all too aware of his vulnerabilities.

He is well-known in The City and also in that part of the world. He has accumulated many friends but he's generally solitary. Initially, he comes over as brooding and quiet but he will divulge in a more mentor arrangement. He will pass on his knowledge, especially if his new companion is willing to learn. If you have a character who's already established themselves in The City ( factions) then he will likely show interest. Ilidre is open-minded and will not judge if your character is a thief or a member of the thieves guild, however, he will not tolerate unnecessary violence and will not employ you if your character is an assassin.

I'm considering opening the first scene at a dreary inn, possibly in the poor quarter or the market quarter.

He drifts throughout the center of the realm, close to The City in search of the descendants of the witch who cursed him and there hangs a tale of remorse, injustice, and betrayal.

My offer extends to world-builders. Writers who have a brimming passion to involve themselves in the creation of a fantasy world! To invent fauna and flora, races, dominions, politics, anything.
Every brooding hero needs a bard. I'm not sure if I should involve Andris, he's a bit stretched between realms already. LOL

Anyway, here's a few quicky ideas you could expand your original idea with. :)

As he ventures into the bustling city to collect a reward, an audacious individual attempts to steal from him.

An affluent admirer has presented him with a lucrative opportunity, seeking his expertise on a different matter.

Once he had successfully collected his bounty, he found himself drawn to yet another adventure. However, fate has a twist in store for him as another adventurer has set their sights on the same bounty. Will they compete or join forces?

The discovery of new information regarding another cult prompted him to seek a companion with exceptional talents to aid him on his journey.
In the realm of shadows and moonlit skies,
Where creatures of darkness meet their demise,
There walks a figure, mysterious and tall,
A sexy elven hunter, the best of them all.

With long flowing hair, black as the night,
And amber eyes, burning with inner light,
He prowls through forests, both ancient and wild,
A guardian, a hunter, with a purpose so styled.

His steps are silent, like whispers in air,
As he navigates this world, filled with despair,
A master of stealth, a predator unseen,
His presence, a nightmare to those who are mean.

Broody and brooding, his heart cloaked in gloom,
Haunted by his past, a life filled with doom,
Yet his voice, like velvet, soothes all who hear,
A balm for the wounded, a solace so dear.

He wields his weapons with grace and with might,
A slayer of monsters, a beacon of light,
No beast can escape him, no witch can hide,
For he's the best hunter, with nothing to abide.

His purpose unwavering, his mission so clear,
To rid the world of evil, to conquer its fear,
With every strike, he brings justice forth,
A hero of legends, of immeasurable worth.

So, heed this tale of the elven hunter divine,
With his long black hair and eyes that shine,
In the realm of darkness, he roams free,
A hunter of hunters, forever he'll be.
"Bards!"

Your suggestions can be incorporated into the story, adding complexity and possibly creating connections.
"Let me carry your gurdems." LOL
"Gurdems? Is that a new word for baggage?"

Edit: Changed the title.
"Burdens, I meant to say burdens." LOL
::Dagra enters and flops into a comfy discussion worthy chair. She looks as though she might already be pouting- but who can say for sure. Her greeting is a pursing of lips and jerking head motion in the others direction....it appears she's brought her own alcohol, and already begun drinking it.::

Hello! Thanks for the discussion invite!
"Hey, if anyone wants an idiot I'm free." LOL

I know you need a character image but I'm shy. Please allow me some time to gather my courage and work on it. :)

Edit: Sorted. :)
This is an open group so if anyone wants to get involved then you can post. If you have any questions, then fire away. :)
Thank you for joining us Dagra. :)

After enjoying a few drinks and engaging in a conversation with Arron, Ilidre will make his way to the Temple quarter to collect his bounty payment from the Bailiff. Following that, he intends to take on another bounty before departing from the city.

The thread has been relocated to the Tales forum as the majority of the story takes place outside of the city.

First scene summary.

- Arron meets Ilidre, a seasoned monster hunter, and he offers his services as a companion.

- Ilidre initially rejects Arron's offer due to his lack of fighting skills but appreciates his other abilities.

- Despite the initial rejection, Arron persists and convinces Ilidre to train him.

- Ilidre reluctantly agrees to train Arron but warns him about the dangers they will face.

If anyone else is interested in participating, please feel free to share your idea for your character by posting it below, and I will include it in the summary.
"Picture in your mind a vast and expansive medieval metropolis constructed upon numerous layers spanning over two millennia. This city serves as a haven for a diverse array of ethnicities and cultures. However, this urban centre harbours a plethora of ominous and foreboding aspects, whether it be in the form of political intrigue or architectural anomalies."
"Add dreary, wet, dismal, and cold."
“Perhaps I can knock out the very loud human for you or gag him.”
i plan to have Ezrallia here join in, but i wanted to ask some questions- is The Thieves Guild within The Undercity? and are The Catacombs under The Undercity? and The Forgotten City even further down?

also- seeing that Ilidre is a well known hunter in The City, i was hoping i could have Ezrallia be looking for him to ask for aid in hunting down an artefact, or a person, or a place. if that's an okay plan, i'll flesh out the details in the post :3
The Thieves Guild's mainly occupies somewhere hidden in the Old Quarter but I think Gevius and I decided to have more than one, so players could contribute to a guild without contradicting other players world-building. If you want to have a Thieves' Guild in the Undercity that should be ok. They could have small faction wars. :) There is a well known rogue thief, named Grey Cat. He's a thorn in the Thieves Guilds sides. :)

The Undercity's a bit complex, the catacombs are sprawling, some parts reaching out beyond The City but yes, you've got the right idea, think of The City being built on top of previous cities, layered like a cake but a bit of a mess. Not only do criminals hide down there but there are also various nefarious cults, strange creatures lurking in the tight dark tunnels, flesh eating fiends etc.

Your plan sounds good. :)
That's fine with me. :)
i seeeeeee, thank you!

small faction wars sounds fun :D and good to know about Grey Cat! is Ezrallia allowed to know Grey Cat personally already or would it have to be roleplayed out first?

i'll start working on a post regardless!
The Grey Cat has a limited circle of acquaintances, to be precise, only a handful. I estimate that there are about three or maybe four individuals who are familiar with him. What sets him apart is his remarkable skill in navigating the Thieve's Highway, effortlessly outsmarting both the guards and fellow thieves. Given his unique abilities, I would strongly prefer that he maintains a certain distance from others and avoids forming close relationships. :)
