The Dunmer may have hailed from the fictional world made from the imaginations of others and first conceived from the ideals of D&D and Forgotten Realms but I have made three characters that I intend to evolve with detailed backgrounds and eventually take them back to their origins during their own personal journey.

The War of the First Council, also known as The Battle of Red Mountain. 1E 700.

Most of the information regarding this event can be found on the internet by a simple search so I won't go into any heavy details here. The Battle of Red Mountain is the turning point where the Chimer became the Dunmer due to the fact that sacred oaths were broken by Almalexia, once the wife of Indoril Nerevar, First Councilor of Resdayn.

'Before his death, they swore oaths to Nerevar upon Azura that they would never use the Tools of Kagrenac on the Heart of Lorkhan in order to steal its divine essence for themselves. A few years later, Almalexia and her fellow Tribunes broke that oath to become living gods. This led to the transformation of the Chimer into the Dunmer.'

'May the eyes of the Changed Ones be turned as red as this volcanic ash, and may their skin be as blackened as their hearts. The accursed drawn, blood from the master spilled, and a curse shown in the race of these folk, forever-more.'

This act heavily influences my three characters Barus Laetha, Shalfar Sarethi, and Tagra. I have another who could be classed as Dunmer, Vadrin Dres but he had no beliefs in the gods and so discovering other realms did not challenge his faith.

Take away a man's shoes. Will he continue to walk barefoot or will he make his own?

Those who belong to House Dres lack generosity. Their attitude is xenophobic, hateful, and stern. Those who are Dres are the most indifferent of Dunmer. As a house, the Dres are even more taciturn and unapproachable than other houses. Even rather insignificant things are considered hard-won knowledge that can only be shared within the Great House or even vassal minor House or family.
House Dres is a society without innovation. The Dres have a deep-seated belief in their traditions, which are more ancient and less modern than any other house. They are dubious of change, of new inventions, or of new customs.
House Dres is a society without luxury. They value hard work, and though their success has largely come as a result of shameful dealings, they regard it as the result of their hard work, a bit hypocritically. They do not indulge themselves as the Indoril & Hlaalu do. Their specific Tribunal is Sotha Sil.
Here we can post anything pertaining to Dunmer. I should bring my Dunmer character into this group sometime. I also have a half drow character called Unara who's involved in the Icewind Dale group who everyone's forgotten to rescue. LOL

I think Gevi's going to set up a Drow thread in this forum. :)

Anyway, back to Dunmer.
I've just started playing Skyrim again and was able to download Skyrim SE, much better than the original and crashes far less. I was thinking of playing this guy. Teldryn.

But I'm not good playing OC.
Yep. Teldryn Sero. Loads of mods out there that improve him. There are other Dunmer follower mods you could use the images from.

Then you've got overhauls for the original Dunmer followers, an improvement which ever pack you download.

Like this one https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/72655

There are shit loads of female Dunmer mods and hardly any males. I was considering upload mine but we'll see.
I've seen some of them, they're really good. I liked this version of Teldryn. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/66732?tab=description

Cool, love the tattoos. I'll download that one later and take a few screenshots. Are you thinking of using that version for Drerse?
No, I have a friend who's in the process of making some character art. :)
After viewing your character's profile image I decided to add one of my earlier characters, now looking much better than he used to due to the mods. :)

Drerse, if you have any ideas for plots be my guest and publish them in the group's forums. Never be concerned if there are too many of the same race or too many of the same class. We don't adhere to any class or race expectations to balance a party for any adventure. I threw that principle out the window a while ago. :)
In my experience, portraying female characters is difficult and I prefer not to. But when someone designs an aesthetically pleasing and unique character I'm tempted. :)

Awesome! I like the idea of not having a balanced party. I have a few ideas and will post them when I have time. :)
Plonking this here. :)

Awesome. I love the scarification on the Dunmer. 👍

Have any of you tried Shadow of Morrowind? I was thinking of downloading it but it's 2.2GB!
The mod is quite large. I downloaded it a while ago and found it quite barren. There are certain areas that have been developed with villages and towns utilizing other mod resources, but there are no people or creatures. It's fine for exploring but it will never be finished. Also using it as a base for adding your own mods causes problems. Bay and I were going to develop it further but it was too much hassle. We also use one of the Windhelm cells in Skyrim to enter Icewind Dale so there's a conflict with this mod.
