OVERVIEW

The most powerful gangs in Los Sueños are the Colombian Cartel, the Moreno Family, and the Mongrel MC. Each has their own home turf and vie for control over the dense urban sprawl between. Other, smaller outfits exist all over the city trying to make a name for themselves, either by clawing clout back from the main gangs or by finding a spot to call their own.

Fights erupt nightly in the dodgier neighborhoods and the drug running business never stops, never mind gun trafficking to top it all off.... meanwhile the LSPD can barely keep its own in line long enough to get a hold of the rampant crime spreading from a few rotten local precincts.

COLOMBIAN CARTEL

RIVALS: The Moreno Family
VICES: Drug Trafficking (Cocaine), Weapons Trafficking, Illegal Imports & Exports, Smuggling
PROPERTIES:
The Airstrip (Little Bogotá)
The Dockyard (Little Bogotá)

Unlike the other gangs, the Cartel is absolutely bloodthirsty. The Moreno Family, methods aside, genuinely wish to do well by their community and have a love-hate relationship with Los Sueños; the Mongrel MC hold no ill will to the city as a whole as long as everyone stays out of their way. The Colombian Cartel, on the other hand, could care less what damage they do as long as their operation continues to flourish.

They are responsible for the vast majority of violent crime in Los Sueños and constantly vie for control of the coast with the Morenos. Little Bogota in particular has suffered at the hands of Generalissimo and his soldiers and hold a deep resentment for anything related to the Cartel. There is no quicker way to anger a Colombian than to assume they have ties to the Cartel.

MORENO FAMILY

MOTTO: Familia Sobre Todo (Family Above All)
RIVALS: The Colombian Cartel
VICES: Drug Trafficking (Cocaine & Crack), Gambling, Loan Sharking, Racketeering [The Family]
Political Corruption, Money Laundering, Counterfeiting, Extortion [Moreno Global]
PROPERTIES:
Pending (Moreno Bay)
Moreno Global HQ (Downtown)

"The Family" began to grow into real power in the late 1910s at the start of Prohibition. They saw an opportunity in the bootleg industry and took advantage of the roots they had already set down. Prior to this they had been a small outfit that got its start in the extortion business with a side gig in gambling. They saw their status soar during Prohibition and the profits were used to reinforce their position and edge out the other gangs.

Fast forward to the 60s and, in an attempt to win back the community that had turned against them over time, they sought to soften their public image. Boss Moreno applied for a grant to begin Moreno Investments Inc and the Family's ill gotten gains began to flow through the business. True to his word, a portion of their profits were invested back into Los Sueños' infrastructure: recreational areas were built, neighborhoods were enriched, and in this way the Moreno roots grew even deeper. Smaller gangs were folded under the Family banner via favors or force and over time they were able to consolidate their power permanently in Moreno Bay.

The late 70s saw the transformation of Moreno Investments Inc into the new and improved Moreno Global. Its headquarters is Downtown and once the construction was complete the business was passed down to Felipe Moreno (aka El Jefe), the original Boss Moreno's business savvy son. El Jefe prefers to operate out of the spotlight and leaves 'the business' to his sub-bosses so that he can be the face of Moreno Global.

The Mongrel Motorcycle Club, also know as The Mongrels, is an criminal motorcycle gang formed in Los Sueños CA. It was founded by the "First Five" in 1969 and runs primarily out of the Fairfield region. Originally it was just a motorcycle club but in 1973, as the club grew, they began to take on illegal activities.

The MMC's main operation is gun-running, they also steal cars and scrap them for parts in the Junkyard. One of their side endeavors that only a select few are authorized to run are their illicit drugs.

There are no membership restriction, hence the name "Mongrels", so anyone can join if they prove themselves.

THE LAWS TO RIDE & ABIDE BY
🦴 NO RIDE NO VOTE
Decisions for the MMC are made via a democratic voting process where all Full Patch members are allowed to vote. If a member is unable to ride such as due to illness, age, injury, etc they are no longer allowed to vote.

🦴 CLUB BEFORE ALL
Loyalty to the Club always comes first, even before family, no matter what. It comes before all other aspects of a member's life and in exchange their families are also protected.

🦴 BEAR THE MARK
When a Prospect becomes a Full Patch member of the club they celebrate by giving them their first tattoo(s) and their kutte/patches. Those that leave the club are expected to surrender their kutte and have their tattoos remove either voluntarily or the Club will do so by force.
This is also stylized as "bare the mark", kuttes/colors must be worn at all times (exceptions can be made when subtlety is needed).

🦴 KEEP THE PEACE
It is important not to stir up trouble which could lead to a war with rival MCs, other LS gangs, the LSPD, etc. Members are only authorized to do Club business within Fairfield/surrounding claimed areas unless told otherwise.
Members are also forbidden from killing other members (or their families) unless instructed otherwise such as executing a traitor/snitch.

UCLS STUDENT DEALERS

The University of Los Sueños has a group of students which have been the bane of the administration for years. Most of these student dealers are independent and unrelated to any specific gang (though they often get their product from gang dealers).

Unlike the city, plagued with gun violence, UCLS is grappling with a drug problem. Want something that will keep you awake to study longer or mellow you out after a hard day of class? There's always somebody who knows someone that can "see a man about a dog"...

THE FURIES

No hay llanto en el béisbol

RIVALS: The Moreno Family, The Cartel
VICES: Drug Trafficking (Meth, pot and tranqs), Gambling, Cash Favors, Business Investment, Counterfeiting, Smuggling (immigrants)
PROPERTIES:
Aceite y Sangre (Pacific Coast)
The Dockyard (Pacific Coast)

La Colmena (Chapparral South)

The Furies are a group that almost seem to have risen up over night, but the truth is that the people who live in the Pacific Coast know they've been an issue for a while. They had a different name once upon a time and were far less organized under the hand of their former leader, but under the palm of El Payaso they've suddenly grown in numbers and have gotten far more tactile about their methods.

While no one is sure of El Payaso's identity, they do know for a fact that ever since he came into power over the gang, things have gotten both hairier and more financially sound in the area. A group that not only robs from the rich to give to the poor, they simultaneously rob from the poor to feed the poor in a sense. A sort of dog eat dog eat dog group, they have no real qualms about how they get their wealth so long as it's flowing into their pockets.

HIERARCHY
EL PAYASO: "The Clown", sometimes called in whispers 'Captain Concussion'; Leader
LA TRÍADA: Aka "The General", a moniker for the one in charge of the State side operation
AGUIJONES: Footmen of the Furies, always in 2 color grease paint, always wearing baseball uniforms. Wield bats and love trouble.

Moderators: Raerae Cosmonautilus
