Dragon Sorcerers

  • Work in progress

    πυριστεφής

Pyristephēs - they were among the first mages ever to exist. With their bloodline dating back to the time forgotten, before even the scriptures would sing to us about, their kind fall among the most mysterious among the people. However, their history did not do them any justice. By the world, they were forever marked as the spawns of the devil, the danger to humanity. It had taken countless councils and blood spill, sacrifices and even surrendering to change the mind of the most revered in authority to stop the slaughter.

The Dragon Sorcerers were cursed with the timeless burden of a crime they did not commit. As antagonized as they are, they have never been the villains in the history of Man.

    How the people view them

Pyristephēs, a word and a name only spoken by the sorcerers themselves in the Ancient Tongue, to the people are more than just mere mages, gatherers of knowledge who are capable of doing remarkable things.

The people call them devil spawn, witches and other more demeaning names, but formally, the people call them the Dragon Sorcerers. Mothers tell children scary stories about the devil witches who possess horns, sharp fangs, reptile eyes and unnatural talons instead of fingernails to scare them into obedience. They were painted as the boogeymen of the religious society (which is quite dominant in these parts,) though history paints an entirely different image of them.

As the matter of fact, they had no part in human history. They were no villains nor heroes. They kept to themselves over the course of history and if they ever had a role in the course of events, it was merely tied to the mage society and their major role in them, however, the human society have little to no knowledge of their ways to truly understand the depths of their powers, as well as the role in the world untied to the human society.
